View 1 RepliesI'm having trouble trying to connect 3 computers via LAN for gaming using straight Ethernet cables and a net gear router. Only 2 computers seem to connect at a time. All 3 can connect to one another (one at a time) and the I.P. addresses have been set to 192.168.0.1 , 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.3. The cables work fine and the computers, but I'm wondering if I'm using the wrong kind of hub/router?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently got a new Toshiba laptop, which works perfectly. We already have an HP desktop PC as well as a Dell laptop, which are both connected to an Ethernet router. When I got my Toshiba, I couldn't connect to the router, whether from a new Internet cable, the cable the Dell uses, or the cable the HP uses (it works perfectly fine with Wifi). The next day I got up early and tried again, and it worked. The HP was turned on, and it connected. But then the Dell wouldn't. Over the next couple days, we realized the problem was that the router only allowed the first two computers that were connected to it to connect to the Internet, but not the third one. The router itself allows eight cables to be plugged into it at a time, so I don't see why it's only allowing two computers, whether laptop or desktop, to connect. Is there a possible solution to this? It's an 8-Port Workgroup Switch, Model EZXS88W.Also, our router DOES NOT support Wifi

setup:
server01 (has the print server role and printers are shared out)
server02 (has the print server role and printers are shared out)
terminal_server (a terminal server)
We have printers on server01 and on server02 that we need to install on terminal_server.The printers install just fine onto terminal_server from server01 when browsing and connecting or opening the shared printers.
The printers on server02 give thes error message when trying to connect to or open them from terminal_server:"The operation could not be completed (error 0x00000709). Double check and make sure that the printer is connected to the network."However, the printers from server02 will install and work just fine IF I install them as IP printers.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow do i connect two internet routers to one IP address range?I currently have one broadband router connected on 172.16.0.3 subnet 255.255.0.0, I have a second line which is a copper ethernet EFM 2Mb line connected using a Cisco 1800 router configured on 172.16.0.254 subnet 255.255.255.0, no DHCP is configured on either router. the dhcp is provided by a windows 2003 server on our LAN which is also configured on the same LAN IP range. if i connect the Cisco router into the same switch as the broadband router my network devices stop working and dont respond.
If i check the broadband router it shows all the connections to it as having the same MAC address as the Cisco router?? if i disconnect the Cisco router everything returns back to normal and works perfectly. What I want to achieve is to be able to run both routers on the same LAN to provide internet access by configuring the pc's to route through a specific router. the DHCP I want to stay routed through my original broadband line. at the same time i want all pc's to access to the lan devices (ie. servers and printers) what the correct configuration would be for the two internet routers would be?

I just got a new internet provider who will not let me connect to my office VPN without a small business account which is ridiculous. I've been reading up on how to work around this and haven't been able to figure anything out. I've signed up for a dynDNS account but the truth is I have zero experience with this and don't know what I'm doing - most of the stuff I'm reading is a foreign language to me. I can log into my router and change settings and I can get VPN info from my tech person and work so I just need to know what to do.
