View 1 Replies View RelatedI was using CiscoWorks LMS4.0 on a Windows server 2008 R2. Now I wanted to do an upgrade to the newest LMS 4.1 version and in the same time switch to the new Linux soft appliance. After that I copied all the backup data to the appliance, I launched the "restorebackup.pl" script and unfortunately got the error "The Backup archive is from WINDOWS . But the current OS is UNIX. Restore is not supported across OS." Is there eventually any possibility to however migrate the data to the appliance?? As Cisco is offering the 2 platforms, there should be a possible migration path.

Cable modem
linksys WRT320N router
Dlink 10 port gigabit switch
3 wired desktops
networked printer/scanner
external D Link Share Center
3 wireless devices
I cannot see the share center Drives on my laptop unless I plug in. Would I need to simply plug the storage drive into the router instead of the switch? Will that affect the rest of the network?
on another note, what is the best way to test my computer to computer connection speeds?
I am looking at two wireless routers currently
ASUS RT-N16
Linksys E3000-RM
Does either of them support large HDD. I have an external 4-bay RAID 5 enclosure (4.5 TB usable space) I would like to connect through USB to the router and host the files on it.i can't find any data from either router if they can support this so I thought I would ask.
After using my 2 TB WD network storage device on other systems both wirelessly and via an ethernet connection, I decided to install the device on a new system via a wired connection. Unfortunately, my computer (WIN XP) won't recognise the device when using a direct connection though my talk talk supplied D-LINK wireless router. I have contacted WD and talktalk and gone through all the diagnostic processes but it still won't recognise the device. I have been able to connect this device through an older D-LINK router (still wireless) on the same talk talk ISP with no problems so I can't understand why it won't connect here. The WD device reports no problems but I can't access it, even when all firewall and AV programs are disabled.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to setup a SSL Anyconnect VPN tunnel between a Cisco 9971 IP Phone and our ASA. I have selected AAA as the authentication mechanism and created local users on the ASA. Everything works fine i.e the VPN username password is prompted and once I put in the credentials the phone gets registered to the Call Manager? The issue is that when the phone is rebooted or the VPN disconnects then again the VPN username is prompted. How can we avoid asking the username and password or is there a way to store the credentials on the phone.
I know that this is possible in the IPSEC Client but not sure how to implement in the Anyconnect VPN.
We have a D-Link DIR655 wireless router on our network. I have purchased two Seagate 1TB network storage units and would like to have one for me and one for my wife. It seems that the router will not support two, because they try to access the same port. How can I plug these two storage units to the router and have access for each of us to one device?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a laCie hard drive which we use to store all our files. There are 2 of us in the office and we would both like to be able to access the storage at the same time. Currently our laCie can only be seen on our desktop's if only one computer is connected (using either firewall and/or USB connectors).
Lastly, we also back up our files using dropbox, however when you drag and drop the files into dropbox from the desktop, the copying of the files uses the hard drive (HD) memory thereby reducing available HD space. Any way to upload folders (not individual files) onto dropbox without using any HD space?
Now that the firmware update allows us to plug a printer into the E4200, is there anyway to simultaneously enjoy network storage AND a USB printer?

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I connect my WD My Book Essential 3TB (which is listed as officially compatible with the E4200), I get the following screen:
The E4200 does not detect my hard drive, nor is there a bar saying "detecting".
My problem started when I could not create any new folders through finder. I had to store new files in the root folder. Every time I entered the admin password, I got a message saying I did not have sufficient permission to perform such a task. I then went on to create a new user within the admin group and continued getting the same message. Finally, I formatted the drive directly through my computer and reconnected. And now my HDD is not detected at all.
I have an iMac running OS X Lion. The HDD is question has been formatted to Mac OS extended (journaled).
I recently purchased a NAS enclosure to use my WD IDE hard drive as a networked drive. I configured the hard drive's jumper setting as single (no jumper). I installed the hard drive in the enclosure and connected the Cat 5e cable to the back of the DIR-655 router. When I tried mapping to the drive, I receive the error:
\STORAGE-3B25 is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. Network error (1208).
I suspect perhaps that I might need to change a setting on my router to allow me to access the NAS. The NAS ip address is visible on the router's admin page and I am able to see it when searching for network drives in my laptop. But I just somehow can't connect to it. I am running Windows 7 Professional 32-bit.
I would like to turn on continuous video recording and have it sent to a drive on the same network as the camera without going through a computer. Is there a way to setup the "storage folder" as a network drive? For example my network drive is accessed at \192.168.0.1volume1 through a web browser.

if you log on to 99.225.89.229:8080 it will ask you for user id and pass word to log into my router.
if you try to log on to 99.225.89.229:21 it wont even connect asking you for a user id and password.

I am setting up an offsite storage server for work at my home which will sync a few times a day to grab data and i wanted to ask about options for encryption or if i should worry about it.i am going to be initially dumping about 1-1.5T worth of data, with then maybe a couple of gigs a day added of new stuff.i am going to use server 2008 r2 as i am also doing a read only DC/AD for this system to give me and offsite controller just incase also.
I was thinking encryption for one more level of safety just incase something happened to the server, like theft or something but not sure what could reliably handle that much data ? System is only a dual core e7500 with 8G of ram, i have 2x500G SATA in raid 1 for the OS and 4 x 1T drives in raid 6 with 2 more coming.
