Cisco Wireless :: AP 3500 Freeze Bright White Light?
Jul 12, 2012I have problem with this 2 AP model 3500i out of 140 APs. below is my finding:-
1. Suspected AP froze with bright white light and dissociated from controller
2. After bounce back (shut / no shut) the port, its working as normal
3. In a while, its repeat to (1.)
4. Direct console to the AP, no output is seen.
From NCS & controller log, its only show as below:
AP 'TTR13-A03AP0076' disassociated from Controller '10.209.116.16'
AP 'TTR4-A02AP0014' disassociated from Controller '10.209.116.15'
Same Internet Cord Works On 1 Computer But Not The Other?
Sep 8, 2011I was using firefox this morning and my desktop suddenly just stopped connecting to the internet. I unplugged the ethernet cord and tried it on my laptop and it connects to the internet fine using the same ethernet cord. I have on-campus internet, so there is no router or anything for me to try resetting. I tried the windows 7 troubleshooter and it said to reset the router, but there is no router to resetOn the non-connecting computer, I can ping the IP address and the default gateway address, but not the DNS servers or something like yahoo

(We do not have access to the router or wifi in our dorms for some odd reason). Since this is the case, I want to sometimes bring my laptop onto my bed rather than be constrained to my desk, where the cord is. Is there any way to get some sort of device, like a wireless bridge or router that gets its source from ethernet and I can set up a wireless network?

Feb 25, 2013I live in a dorm where internet is provided through a router that is pretty much encased in a metallic box on the side of the wall. At the beginning of the year, my parents bought me an extremely long ethernet cable ( about 15 feet I'm guessing). I have been using this ethernet cord with no problems up until now. I find it difficult to maintain the long cord as it gets tangled everywhere and I switch it between my laptop and my xbox (I can't get a switch to work). After prolonged switching between the xbox and the laptop the little tab thing that you push broke off and the cable starts to slide and disconnects me from the internet. I decided to get another ethernet cable and I tried connecting it but my laptop does not detect the cable and I do not see any lights turn on like my other ethernet.

Mar 6, 2012My DIR-825 stays on even when I flick the power switch, for as long as I don't disconnect the externally powered Belkin USB hub from it. Some lights do come off, Internet light turns orange, but it stays on. If I disconnect the hub before trying to shut down the router, it turns off instantly.
I feel slightly worried by this because as far as I am aware, a USB client device shouldn't be feeding power to the host. On the other hand, the host shouldn't be accepting power from the client either.
Also, sometimes after days since last reboot, the USB light on the router is not on despite connected devices, and they may or may not appear in Shareport.

Jun 21, 2011We have a pair of Cisco 6513 switches, to which a selection of Wintel/Linux/UNIX servers are attached, but we have some connections that we can't identify and the data centre is a remote lights-out operation operated by a 3rd party in another country. determining which server NIC ports connect through (via patch panels) to which ports on the Cisco switches.In particular, I have a UNIX (HP-UX) server that has 4 dual port NICs (ie. 8 LAN ports), of which only one is assigned an IP address, but I can see that the other ports have connectivity at level 2 (HP-UX has a "linkloop" command that is analogous to an IP "ping" but takes a MAC address, and I get a response from each when I check from another server). This means that I know that there is a physical, electrical, and level 2 connection.The one server port with the active IP address set up shows in the switches address table ("sh mac-address-table") and it gives the port it is attached to. But the remaining 7 ports do not have IP addresses assigned and so are not listed in the table.

A Netgear router with Its WAN port connected to powerline and is getting its internet from Powerline adapter #1 I have devices attached to both networks, and would like them to communicate. (like TV on "FIOS" to communicate with NAS on "Leo")
Main network "Fios" uses Actiontec MI424WR Gen2. Router DHCP enabled: IP schema 192.168.X.X
Secondary network "Leo". uses Netgear power-line Router DHCP enabled: IP schem 10.0.X.X
So I have a TV which is a member of "Fios" , but would like it to access a NAS, which is attached to the Netgear router "Leo"

This router should be attached to 2 different ISPs on both WAN interfaces (ISP1 with IP address - A.B.C.D, and ISP2 with IP W.X.Y.Z) and I want to use DMZ, too. My idea is to make a L2/L3 segmentation with 2 VLANs - Vlan RED for DMZ (private network 192.168.1.0/24) and vlan BLUE for Internal network (network 192.168.2.0/24). I checked in the manual that vlans are supported, but I can't see anything about 802.1q, can I use one trunk port or I should use 2 physical cables?
There should be inter-vlan routing and basic stateful firewall, so PCs in Vlan Blue should be able to initiate connections to DMZ servers, but the opposite should be denied. Router should make a port forwarding on its both WAN interfaces and forward incomming traffic (from Internet) to DMZ servers (with NAT). Both DMZ servers and internal PCs should have an internet access with NAT over both WAN uplinks.
Can I use RV042G for this setup and if not at all - are there any cisco SMB device which can do this?

Apr 9, 2013I have been playing on a laptop for the last one and a half year without any problems with the internet. I have never had any lag and a steady ping around 20. On my laptop I was connected to the internet both wireless and with a cable because it tend to lag if I didnt have the network cable plugged in.And yesterday I got my new stationary PC, everything is working amazing but its just one problem. My ping goes skyhigh! On this PC I dont have any wireless connection, only a network cable.I have had this lag now since I got my now computer and its pretty frustrating. On this new computer I have a new anti-virus program (norton) that I am not that familiar with since I used Avira for years so I am not sure if the anti virus protection could be messing something up

Dec 10, 2011I recently purchased a NAS enclosure to use my WD IDE hard drive as a networked drive. I configured the hard drive's jumper setting as single (no jumper). I installed the hard drive in the enclosure and connected the Cat 5e cable to the back of the DIR-655 router. When I tried mapping to the drive, I receive the error:
\STORAGE-3B25 is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. Network error (1208).
I suspect perhaps that I might need to change a setting on my router to allow me to access the NAS. The NAS ip address is visible on the router's admin page and I am able to see it when searching for network drives in my laptop. But I just somehow can't connect to it. I am running Windows 7 Professional 32-bit.
