So, brand new Inspiron n7110 lappy running Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit). Got it home, fired it up and found that it could see the network, but refused to actually do anything with it, or even cough up a specific error message other than 'Windows was unable to connect to (networkname)'.Fiddled with it for a while, entered and re-entered the passkey, mucked about with settings, made sure that the network name and whatnot were all entered correctly, and eventually got annoyed and simply disabled security. Lo and behold, it worked beautifully... sometimes. Connectability was still badly erratic (didn't get any unplanned disconnects, but when it booted up, it was pretty much even odds as to whether or not it would connect). But as soon as I re-enabled security (WEP, in this case.I suppose I really should figure out how to get WPA to work, but one problem at a time >.<)The router is a Siemens SE567.
I've got a 1760 router which uses port forwarding (25, 80 and 443) for my internal network services. If, let's say, I try to open a FTP connection on the router, of course the connection will be refused. Is there a way to make the router DROP the packets instead of rejecting them? My Linux iptables configurations drop packets who fail the firewall test, so I would like the router to perform that behavior.Commands for port forwarding:ip nat inside source static tcp 10.10.0.1 80 int f0/0 80 (these work fine)
My friend recently let me have his Seimens Gigaset SE567 modem which i needed cause it has a router but as soon as i switched it with my old router which is a Westell 6100f,the internet light wont show up ..so i contacted verizon and they said that there service is plug and play type of service so i am lost on what to do ..i looked around the forums and i got close by going to the browser and typing the IP but from there i am stuck ..i don't know how to set up any thing in the configurations.
I'm running Vista on my Desktop, and the router is a Gigaset SE567/8 Series. Whenever I turn my computer on, it will connect to the network, but not to the internet. I get the caution symbol in the task bar with the network icon, and it show the "identifying ( mySSID )". I have to unplug the router for 30 seconds in order to make it work correctly. This router was just installed by my ISP the other day and its been acting this way since then.
i am a ict teacher. at my lab all student computers (clients - win 7 ultimate) are connected to server 2008 machine. student are unplugging the network cable and try to log on some account which has time restriction so client computer is logging him on by using cache user. how can i solve that problem.i want always the network cable to be plugged and force students to use their own account in lesson time.

I've tried every password I can think of. I've reset the thing 5 times (with even up to 1 minute of holding the button) and used the admin password, even blank. I've powered it off and on. I've checked my linkups and used different wires. The thing is fully powered. The ethernet and power are green and the wireless blinks.
One of my customers uses Comcast email and all of a sudden couldn't send messages the other day, telling me it was giving her an error. She said that she reset her router, and the email started working again. When I finally got over there to check it out, the email had started experiencing problems again. The error she was having was Error 550: Message Rejected (when trying to send email). There didn't appear to be any issues with her internet connection, and she wasn't having issues connecting to the email server, it was simply rejecting her messages.
I told her that she would have to contact Comcast, as there was really nothing I could do to fix their email server returning an error. She wasn't too happy, and remained convinced that her router had something to do with it. It's a Netgear WNDR3700 or WNDR3800 that I setup for her last year, it's a fine router.Has anyone ever had a Comcast email server randomly start rejecting messages? I noticed that her outgoing email was set to use port 587 which seems like a nonstandard port and also no authentication, but I have no idea what the Comcast email settings are supposed to be.
I came across this issue with a number of APs in an installtion last week. All APs were new LAP1142s and the controller is 5508.None of the APs (14 in all ) were able to join the controller.Actually they started the joining process , but it seems to get disconnected in between.I am pasting the output below.
Interestingly the issue was resloved after i Resetted All the LAPs again. (all 14 of them worked fine after the reset , but there were no prior configurations on the LAPs , they were just opened From The Box).
*Apr 13 07:47:37.899: %CAPWAP-5-CHANGED: CAPWAP changed state to DISCOVERY *Apr 13 07:47:37.900: %CAPWAP-5-CHANGED: CAPWAP changed state to DISCOVERY *Apr 13 07:47:37.971: status of voice_diag_test from WLC is false *Apr 13 07:47:48.000: %CAPWAP-5-DTLSREQSEND: DTLS connection request sent peer_ip: 10.2.4.52 peer_port: 5246 *Apr 13 07:47:48.000: %CAPWAP-5-CHANGED: CAPWAP changed state to *Apr 13 07:47:48.002: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface Dot11Radio0, changed state to down *Apr 13 07:47:48.012: %LINK-5-CHANGED: Interface Dot11Radio0, changed state to reset
[code]....
What is this .."*Apr 13 07:48:10.043: %MESH-6-CAPWAP_RESTART: Mesh Capwap re-started" that i see on the LAP logs.IWhy is this issue getting resolved on a reset , considering that all 14 of them are brand new , and unboxed at that very moment.

I need remote access to certain programs on my home PC but I just cannot get it to workWhen I set the programs port preferences (i.e. port 8087), I can connect with "127.0.0.1:8087". both the utorrent and webcamXP work fine. But when I replace the localhost with my external IP (lets say 79.149.114.227, so that would be "http://79.149.114.227:8087" in the case of webcamXP and I tried port forwarding: I have added the port to my NAT in the router's setting so it should be fine, but it is not (numbers are fictual of course)[CODE]

I have an existing wireless working network with WIN 7 - 2 laptops, two desktop PC's. Can I add a security code/password without setting up a new network?
I have a network of 3750's configured for DAI with DHCP Snooping implanted and working with windows XP for around a year. Now we've changed a couple machines for windows 7. I have a floor with around 200 workstations on XP and about 4 on Seven. Two of these WIN7 are triggering the err-disable for arp inspection (configured by default to block interfaces sending over 15 arp pps) I noticed that when I go on windows -> network and I do a refresh, sometimes (most of the time after boot up or idle time) it will trigger the massive arp response on the network. I noticed that all hosts on the network updated their arp entry for that computer(win7) at the same time, for some reason I don't know. The windows 7 tries to reply over fifty arp requests for its IP which caused the port to be put on err-disable.There were no applications running on the windows7 computer at the time of the tests, only wireshark and its default services. This computer has configured:DHCP with WINS Its on a windows domain has netbios over TCP.
I found anod secruity network filter driver for D-Link router to install on my pc , I don't use d-link router so it shouldn't be there, and also someone around my area is using my wireless internet connection, this how they must of got in. Now should this be deleted .

I´m looking at this document: [URL] and I´m not clear if Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard with SP1 is supported. The documentation refers to Windows 2008 Server SP2 and Windows 2008 Server R2, but I see no specific mention to Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard with SP1.
I have an hp envy 17, running windows 7 64-bit, and I'm having a problem getting a program, KalemSoft Media Streamer, to work on my laptop, so I can stream my laptop media to my HP TouchPad. I traced the problem down to windows firewall: When windows firewall is disabled, I'm fine, but I want it to work while it's enabled as well. I tried to add it to the list of exceptions but nothing seems to work. I've attached a photo of the error message, i can change the base data and control TCP ports for kalemsoft (currently 5030 and 5031.
At my small business (30 employees) we currently don't have a hardware firewall. Should I have one? If so what do you recommend? We are all connected to a Windows Server 2003 domain in one office building.
1) I had Windows XP 2012 Security virus that I removed. The antivirus software also removed afs.sys and afs.reg file, that I repalced from backup. I also copied and merged afs.reg Doing this got me an ipaddress for my PC.
2) I can not connect my wired desktop to the Internet. I can ping the ip address of google.com but not the url. I can also not ping ip address of netgear.com. My laptop has no problem connecting to the wireless network.
3) I ran Winsockxpfix and flushed dns and no luck. [code]
