Wireless Connection Not Connecting Automatically

I recently went through removing some trojan files and malware on my computer with Kevin over in the Virus and Malware Removal section and my computer but the one thing that is not the same now is my wireless internet connection. I have a Netgear wireless adapter. Before I was using the Netgear utility to connect and now that's not even opening at startup just using the Windows Internet Connection utility, which is fine with me but it just won't connect automatically at startup. I have to go manually hit connect and enter my key for it to connect.

My Linksys WRT120N router was working fine for all of 1 and 1/2 months and suddenly it stopped making the internet connection. At first nothing could access the internet but now that I've reset the router (via the little reset button in the back) my Kindle can access the wireless, but of course no password etc. I actually don't know how to put back the username and password for it. When router is connected: When I troubleshoot the connection by clicking on "Repair Connection" it takes about 2-5 mins "obtaining a new network address" then I get an error saying "The wired connection to your router was not automatically repaired. X Local network: Not connected.

My boss's old Windows XP laptop was able to connect to open wireless networks automatically so he never had to click that icon on the bottom right to check signals or anything like that. Is there anything like that I could set up on Windows 7?
I realize that this is not secure and very silly. I suggested choosing the best and trusted networks available. My boss, however, doesn't want to accept that he should have to go through more steps with newer technology. So in this case, I'd just like to give him what he's asking for.

I use CISCO VPN 5.0.07.0290 to connect to my office Network from the wireless internet connection at home. Whenever i Cisco VPN client, my internet is getting disconnected automatically within few minutes. This is happening only when i tried to connect from my home.

I've been having a problem with my wireless network connection. Whenever I try and hit the Repair function,it will get stuck on Renewing your IP address for a moment, then change to: Windows could not finishing repairing the problem because the following action cannot be completed: Connecting to the wireless network. I have internet connection on this same computer.Another point to make is that when I click Repair and navigate to the Network Connections window, then hit F5 ( refresh the window ), the wireless connection will quickly refresh and connect normally without error.I won't have to open the Network Connections page and hit F5 anytime I need to repair the connection? Also, as of right now, it's still "Acquiring network address" even though I'm connecting and typing this message.

i have a user running Windows xp pro, the problem is one of his network drives does not re-connect at logon, all the other drives re-connect but for some reason this one does not, the network drive is on a windows server and does not require different logon credentials than his windows logon.

I have an issue in my office on Wireless Account?We have 5 Cisco (1242AG) Wireless Access points (AIR-LAP1242AG-A-K9) Connected to 1 Wireless Lan controller 4402 in 1 Site one user Wifi account alone keeps on disconnecting & connecting automatically , Confirmed there is no Desktop Wireless issue , Since whatever device(laptop, Iphone, desktop) he logins Same problem occurs.This problem started 2 weeks back only, before that there is no issue, Coonection & disconnection occurs more on monday.Error showing When Disconnecting : Cannot connect to wether(ssid)

I purchased the DIR-615 last week, and have experienced intermittent loss of internet connectivity, and automatic rebooting numerous times a day. A solid connection is up for 90% of the time; but you never know when connection will be lost. When connection is lost it automatically comes back after about 5 minutes with the router rebooting itself. I though I would ask for assistance here prior to taking it back to Fry's. I was previously using a 6 year old Linksys, and had no problems for years until it recently decided to die.

he will lose connection with his chat programs for like 2 minutes then automatically be signed back on. He says he notices no other connection loss, but notices that sometimes his streaming will lag or games will lag. His ISP is Armstong (?) and he's wired to the router. XP OS.

I have a DLSW connectivity between 2800 series router and 7206 router. AS 400 is directly connected to 2800 series router and other server is connected directly to 7206 router. now i want to add one more server which will work as backup for the server connected to 7206 . What would be the connectivity/configuration to make it working in case primary server connected to 7206 is down or connection would automatically needs to shift on its backup server.

I am using Scientific Linux 6.2 (Variant of RHEL / CentOS) . Every day at a particular time there is a power outage at my place, and after 1 hour power is restored. My laptop is connected to a network switch, that has no Backup power, and connection is disconnected when power is gone. Laptop keeps running in battery power.
Now when power is restored, the ethernet connection (eth0) is not automatically restored in linux. It only says connection available under wired connection. The same thing happens to the Wireless Network Connections. What can I do to automatically connect to these networks, whenever they are available?

For awhile now I've been having an issue with my laptop connecting to the Internet. What happens is that when I power up my laptop and login, it doesn't connect to the Internet immediately. I have it set to automatically connect to the Internet. My wireless connection does appear when I click on the lower right icon that shows the wireless connection list of wireless networks near you.The only way that it will connect properly to the Internet is when I unplug my wireless router for 15 to 30 seconds and then plug the power back in to go through the process. Once I check the wireless icon, it finally does connect to the Internet. I hate having to keep on doing this because usually I have to go down steps in order to get to the router. Yet, when I connect to the Internet with my other laptop, it connects immediately to the Internet without having to do anything with the router. It puzzles me to why this is happening.

When I try to connect to the internet via a wireless connection, I select the connection I want and it says it's connected.
However when I go to the wireless connection properties it is sending but not receiving and it won't connect to the internet. I went to the CMD and typed in IPCONFIG and get the message saying my "Media Not Connected."
I have pushed the green button on the router so my laptop can pick up the settings but it still won't connect. Also, I took my laptop to my friends house and was able to connect on their wireless.
I am on Windows Vista.

I've been trying to use my laptop (Lenovo IdeaPad Y580) as a wireless adapter for my Xbox 360 by bridging the LAN/Wireless networks and connecting the Xbox to the laptop via Ethernet. The wireless works fine normally, but when I plug the Ethernet cable into the computer, the laptop automatically disables WiFi and changes to a LAN connection. It doesn't give any options whatsoever to reconnect to wireless, just forces me to use the Ethernet connection. As soon as the cable is removed the wireless connection returns, but for what I'm trying to do to work, I need both LAN and wireless to be working simultaneously, and the wireless providing the Internet connection. I've also tried connecting the laptop to a router via Ethernet and received the same result, so I'm pretty sure it's something on the laptop that's causing it. Whenever i connect a particular acer laptop to the internet at work via the wireless, internet access is lost after a period that ranges from 30 minutes to 1 hour and i have to reboot the VSAT modem to restore internet connectivity. This cycle of rebooting the vsat modem to restore internet access goes on and on until the problematic laptop is powered off.Initially i thought the problem was with the modem since i always had to restart it, but i noticed that if i didnt take that laptop to work, internet access stayed up the whole day.The acer laptop is enabled for DHCP and connects to a cisco wireless acess point that is connected to a cisco 2960 series switch which is in turn connected to the VSAT modem.

Every time I restart my computer, it unchecks the "connect automatically" box. I have to manually connect to my wifi. I go in and check the box agian just to have it uncheck next time I boot up. My wife has the same laptop that I do and hers doesn't do this. I'm guessing it must be a setting somewhere?

I used to have ATT DSL but we recently switched to U-Verse. I have a Trendnet TEW-452BRP 54g wireless router than was handling the PPPoE function. It was set to work flawlessly with my wireless cards. No dropped connections, speed or security issues. It always connected quickly from wake up and on start up. Now we have a 2Wire i38HG wireless router/gateway and it's been difficult to properly set my network up as before. I use the Trendnet behind the 2Wire as my wireless router. Took me a while to figure out what to do, but DHCP is disabled on Trendnet so 2Wire does what it needs to. This option works fine for me. The only problem is that at first my wireless card would not automatically connect to the network through the Trendnet when it is in range like I had it set to do previously. When I would force it to, after 3 times it would magically connect on it's own. I made some changes in the Trendnet (Mainly disabling dynamic DNS and NAT) and that seems to have made a difference. To be honest, I don't know if that is significant or not or if it actually made a longterm difference but it seems like it has. So my problem is now that when I put my laptop to sleep and have it wake up, it does not automatically reconnect. It takes about 2 minutes then it does on its own. I read the event viewer and this is the info it gave me - Your computer was not able to renew its address from the network (from the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address 0x0018DE0682D8. The following error occurred: 0x79. Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server.

I've been configuring hundreds of 3602i APs via Prime without incident, but I've encountered 2 APs that get to the ap: prompt and doesn't proceed further. If I type boot, then they'll complete the boot process.

I am testing our new wireless network using 1 Cisco 2504 wireless controller with 5 licenses 4 Cisco Air LAP 1142N Access Point I configured it very simple for testing There is only one interface and vlan is untaggetd There is also only one WLAN with one SSID Currently security setting is WPA + WPA2 + PSK (I also tested with no security setup) Wlan session time is diabled and controller user idle timeout is set to 1000000 (Max)AP boot version is 12.4.23.3 and ISO version is 12.4(23c)JA3 Problem is clinet(iphone) does not automatically associate with 1142N Access Point even after it learned network. Phone has to be authenticated again to connect to network same iphone can automatically associate with old 1220 Access point but not with New AP if I urn off and turn back on wifi from iphone, it does see the network but does not connect but I have to manually reconnect to it with password I want iphone to connect known network without reauthentication process after iphone's wifi function is turn on?

I have a WCS, four 5508 controllers, Cisco 3750X switches, and both autonomous Cisco 1200, and LightWeight 3502i in service.The problems I am having, is that some of my Access Point reset for no apparent reason, and I get alerted by my NMS.When I look at the switch port, that connects an access point that reported down, I see the POE switch port went down and back up in 4 seconds, just long enough for the access point to reset.There are no errors on the switch port(s). No cable or speed/duplex issues. Switch IOS: c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-55.se1
There are no other pertinent entries in the switch log. Just that the port went down and then back up. Always in 4 seconds.When a reset happens the WCS reports on the access point: '802.11/b/g/n' interface of AP associated to controller 172.20.0.x is down. Reason: Indicates that while the radio state should be updated on controller, no reset should be reported.But nothing else, except that the radio came back up.
This is happening two or three times a day, and rotates. It seems that it never happens at the same time of the day, or the same access point, or the same switch. (I have over 1000 access points and 500 switches in service)I am curious if the WCS is automatically resetting the access point radios, which is causing the switch port to go down/up?And if so, is it possible to turn off the automatic reset?

We have 2 Cisco 5508 WLCs, each wtih 50 licenses. What I would like to do is split the 50 odd APs between the 2 controllers load balancing the traffic. If a controller goes down or there is a break in the path all APs would failover to their configured secondary controller. So far so good.
However there seems to be no way to 'replicate' the configurations between controllers unless I setup HA , but as I understand it HA is Active /Passive, so essentially, unless you get a failover situaltion, completely 'redundant'.
Is there a way or either replicating between controllers automatically with out HA, or is there a way of making HA Active / Active?

I have a few questions about the Cisco WAP2000 we setup for our customers that I have experienced as of late.
1. The AP is prone to reset automatically; what causes the access point to do this and how can this be prevented?
2. The AP has the SSID and the encryption reset back to factory defaults, however the IP address does not get reset. What would cause this?
3. Is it possible to use 2 of the Cisco WAP2000 as a repeater to increase signal strength of another Cisco WAP2000 that has interference from another stronger signal?

i bought the TL-WR841N a week back. the problem is that the internet connection has a web based login( wherin i have to go the "login.hathway.com" and enter a username and password provided by the service provider). i was wondering if there is anything i can do so that the wifi router on its own can log on to my account automatically every time i connect a device to the router. This would save alot of time for me.

I log onto other wireless networks the first time by inputting their passwords. My iphone then always automatically reconnects wirelessly to them without have to input the password again. The phone can be asleep for a few minutes or I can be gone for a month. The phone always automatically remembers & reconnects to these networks.However, it doesn't work that way with my d-link system @ home. Everytime the phone sleeps and I wake it up, the wireless connection is lost. There is no automatic reconnection. I have to input the password each time in order to re-establish the wireless link. My printer and laptop seem to stay connected. d-link settings I need to change in order to get my iphone to automatically connect all the time?
