Linksys Wireless Router :: E4200 Wired Connections No Longer Work
Jul 14, 2011I'm trying to fix the network at a student housing building and the system is kind of a mess. We bought a new E4200 to replace our old Linksys router which no one knows the admin pw to. We have four switches for 50 connections throughout the four story house and when switching the connections over to the new E4200 all of the wired connections no longer work. Switch back to the old router and presto. How do I need to change the settings with the E4200 to get it to work?
Also, as it's a thick old house the E4200's wireless only covers maybe half of it...I purchased two wireless repeaters to put on the 3rd and 4th floors, are these simple to install with the router?
Linksys Wireless Adapters :: AE1000 No Longer Working
May 24, 2011I've been using my AE1000 for about a month now with absolutely no problems. Yesterday it just stopped working, I removed it from the USB port and just about burned my fingers on the metal part that plugs into the USB port. BTW I am on Windows 7 64-bit.
Now it won't work. I've tried reinstalling the driver and the device just blinks in the "Devices and Printers" control panel. I removed it again and it was very hot to the touch after only being in the port for about a minute.
When Service Came Back To Normal One Of Network Connections Was No Longer Available
Feb 14, 2012I was having an issue with Comcast phone and internet services.Comcast had me disconnect and reconnect my modem and router. When service came back to normal one of my network connections was no longer available to me. I have two connections (one for use at my home which is a secured one) and one I use when I go to my sons home. My computer now only allows me to connect to a network called "Linksys" which may be available to the public. The connection I want to use shows up if I go to control Panel/View Network Status/Manage wireless network, and it is the first choice on the list, but the computer always uses the unsecured "Linksys". I'm afraid to do my banking over that network but I'm also afraid to start fooling with it and having no network. [code]

Aug 10, 2011There is one guest interface, one guest WLAN. The WLAN is set with a DHCP override address of the guest interface. But it no longer allows this as I found out. Anyway, I can get the client to now receive an address from the internal pool on the WLC, but it will not route to the authentication page. I noticed that the WLC excludes the clients attempting to connect on the guest WLAN due to failed 802.1x authentication! the WLC never even gave me the chance to authenticate using an account created either through the lobby ambassador or creating one directly on the controller.

I have chagned the USB ports and restarted the computer. But it still wont install. I have Windows Vista. I also have Norton, do I need to uninstall this?

Jun 24, 2012I have a new Linksys E2100 that was working well with an old Verizon modem. Then recently that modem gave up the ghost and I was issued another one (Westel Model 6100G). I have no problems with internet connectivity when connecting directly from my harddrive to the Verizon modem. I am also not having trouble connecting to the Linksys routher as I am able to see my wireless connection with no problem. However, when I try to set up the connnection with the E2100 in the loop (yes, it's connected correctly) I no longer have internet access.
I tried de-installing and re-installing the Linksys software (thinking maybe there was some new configuration that would be auto-detected with a new set-up), but this didn't work. I suspect that if the problem is with my Linksys router and not with my Verizon modem that there might be something that could be done to reconfigure something manually but I do not know enough about connections and wireless systems to trust myself not to mess something up.
At this point I'm assuming it's a Linksys issue since I know that my Verizon modem can connect me to the internet, so works properly. Is there some known incompatibility with this Linksys model and the Westell 6100G modem?
Linksys Wireless Router :: Internet Connection No Longer Working With WRT54G?
Sep 28, 2011I have had a WRT54G V3 router working successfully for a number of years now with a couple wireless PCs through a cable modem with Comcast as my ISP. All of a sudden yesterday, neither PC could access the internet. No changes had been made to the router.
I contacted Comcast and they of course had me hard-wire one of my PCs into the cable modem. That worked and I was able to access the internet. However, when I tried to put the router back in place (in either a wired or wireless fashion), I could not access the internet.
I've tried following the online Linksys troubleshooting document ion. The lights that should be lit on the router are lit. I can access the router setup web page which shows the settings still intact. I've tried going through the power sequencing to no avail. Comcast says my router is the culprit of my problem, but I don't know why it would all of a sudden stop working. My wireless printer still works so it detects a signal and my PC shows it's connected, but no internet access is possible.
What do I need to do? Are there any other diagnostic tools available? I'm out-of-warranty.

Feb 5, 2011I was using desktop computer and got infamous blue screen of death Rebooted and everything was fine except could no longer could see LAN connection or connect to internet The desktop computer also has a wireless card that allows me to connect to router wirelessly but only get "connect with limited access" I have a cable connection through a router and tried connection dsl directly to ethernet and bypassing router but no change Router works for other laptops to connect wirelessly I can see both network adapters in the device manager and both say devices are working properly Here are the results of ipconfig /all:

Internet No Longer Working Properly
Jun 2, 2011Last night on the xbox 360 i was suddenly experiencing alot of lag on other peoples voices. i took no notice of it and the next day i went on my laptop and alot of websites wouldn't load properly.i can go on google,obviously this and my hotmail(after having to wait a long time for the hotmail to load), but others such as ebay will not load. I cannot even access my router settings by typing in my ip address, instead i get a message saying the page cannot be found. also i was disconnected from xbox live with the internet to xbox live part not working. Obviously the first thing i done was turn the router off and back on but it hasn't made any difference.

Virtual Wifi - Ics No Longer Working Correctly
Mar 27, 2011I use the Windows7 Virutal WIFI when traveling abroad to give my Iphone an internet connection in my hotel.I've had zero issues until this week. The WIFI connection is still showing up on my iphone, but I no longer get internet access (I only get an IP and subnet on the iphone now, no router or DNS info). The issue began (coincidence or not) as my MagicJack downloaded and installed a software update. MagicJack support says they aren't the issue. I experimented with created an Ad-Hoc network...no change. I've removed and reinstalled the wireless card and driver. No change. I suspect some corruption with ICS, but haven't found any solutions online to fix it.

Wireless Network And Ethernet Connections Not Working?
Jul 28, 2012My computer is a Dell Inspiron with Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1. A few weeks ago, it stopped working and would not let me log in. I fixed that problem by launching Setup and downloading the Windows 7 installation from a jump drive. The new problem is that I cannot connect to the internet at all. My wireless connections will not show up and when I hook up my ethernet cord, it will not show up either.

Oct 11, 2012My E4200 router no longer accepts any WIRED connections. I can connect from the modem to the computer and everything works as expected. I can connect other computers wirelessly to the router. I cannot connect any laptops WIRED to the router. Nothing has changed on the systems to restrict internet access. There is something wrong with the router and the WIRED ports. I tried going through the troubleshooting on this site but it was of little to no assistance. The Cisco Connect utility doesn't appear to accomplish anything either. My guess is because I cannot connect to the WIRED ports on the router to connect to the internet to allow for whatever troubleshooting that needs to be done.

Feb 10, 2011Two days ago there was a quick power outage here, just one of those flicks off flicks back on deals, but when it came back on I noticed my internet wasn't working. Couldn't figure out what the deal was so after trying a few other things I ended up eliminating my Linksys WRT54G router and just using my DSL modem. Internet works fine.
Now, I've always been kind of sketchy on networking stuff, but I don't think there router is broken I just think it's been reset or something and now I don't know what setting I need to change to get it back to working order.
Here's the kicker though. I had the DSL modem in bridge mode and the router handling traffic before but I had a huge issue with that where my Steam would only download at 10-15 KB/s. Not only that but it would take forever to login and crash constantly. This would happen on my brother's computer too, which is on the same network. I could never figure out how to fix it as forwarding ports had no effect and every other fix I could think of amounted to nothing as well. Hell, I even did a fresh install to no avail.
Now going straight into the modem my Steam is downloading at full speed and there's no slow login or crashing issues. The thing that boggles my mind though is that more than once before I tried doing this very same thing, going straight into the modem, and it didn't fix the problem.
Ideally I want to get the router back up and running and keep my Steam in full working order, essentially to have my cake and eat it too, but the priority is to get the router back up in running as I have another PC on this network, plus a 360, a PC, a wireless printer, and two Wii's.

So I now either need to:get the updates to work properly Remove the updates and get back to a working condition if you wonder why I applied the updates...why repair something that's already working...I have had Bluetooth sporadic connection issues with this laptop with a BT GPS unit. The same BT GPS unit works perfectly on a D610 but on this D600 after initial connection there can be repeated connection loss requring the BT GPS unit to be moved around, after which BT connection is re-established only to fail a while later. As the same GPS works without problem with the D610 my presumption has been the issue is a BT stack issue on the D600 BT implementation.

Sep 21, 2012I bought my Sony Vaio notebook about 2 years ago and have since had problems connecting to certain networks. The laptop will connect to the network but when i open my web broswer it doesn't let me access any web pages. Basically there's no internet connection even though im getting a full strength wifi connection.
This problem only happens in certain locations. My parents house its fine (using a sky router), my old house in London fine (sky router again), my friends house (doesn't work), my new house (doesn't work - BT router), on the train (no again)
Its very frustrating, although it was manageable before as it worked in both my houses. However now it doesn't work in my new house its pretty much pointless me having the internet.
DLink DI-624 - Router Not Working Or Making Connections

It has been working for years but after the internet was down in the area for most of the day, it has failed to reset. I've done the usual un-plug/wait/replug routine a few times but cannot connect. I can connect directly through the SIEMENS but when I introduce the DI-624 back into the mix, I'm not able to connect to the internet. How do I make it happen. I'm not tech savvy so go slow.

Dec 8, 2011I have never had to do anything to connect to my fathers netgear router or my own netgear router. I would just turn on my pc and have internet. After my brother touched my computer it no longer recognizes any wireless connection. My internet provider says that I need a new router. I don't think that is the problem because after my brother played with my computer it was unable to see any connections (not even neighbors which I normally see). This makes me think something is wrong with my computer not the router.
PS. I do have my wireless switch turned to on. My brother doesn't know what he did but will not be allowed to play with it again.

Sep 27, 2012My laptop all of a sudden can't connect to my wireless internet connection and also seem unable to find any other wireless network but mine.I recently moved to a new flat, but brought my old modem/router with me (Scientific Atlanta 2434) and use the same ISP. Last week everything worked as a charm, but at the new location my laptop won't connect to my network, though I can connect to it through my mobile phone. My laptop only seem to find my own network ("Fidel") but with my mobile I can pick up 10-15 different networks from my flat. Connecting my laptop to the modem with a cable works all good. I tried to remove "Fidel" from my networks and added it again, typing wrong password gives a message saying "wrong network key" so my laptop and the modem seem to shake hands at least. Yesterday when trying I actually got connected, but the connection died after a few minutes and I wasn't able to connect again.Windows device manager display no errors nor conflicts around the ethernet controller or network adapter. Have tried to update the drivers through the device manager as well but it says they are up to date.Windows version is Windows 7 Home Premium.Don't know if my ISP uploaded new firmware to my modem when I connected it in my new flat, but on the other hand I can't see why this would affect my laptop's ability to pick up other networks in my house? Once loaded, no Wireless Network Connection icon appears in Network Connections and is not showing up as a Network Adaptor in Device Manager. The adptor is a Broadcom BCM94318MPG(802.11b/g) device on my. I have an XP CD and the original Gateway Windows XP CD and cannot get Windows to find the driver on the cds.
