View 1 RepliesI am receiving trace back logs in the 881G with 3G module. And after reload, the router is going to Initial Config. mode. What the latest IOS is?
Current IOS I am using is c880data-universalk9-mz.151-1.T3.bin. Any better IOS for complete efficient use of the PCEX-HSPA-G Module ?
i went to bed last night and my router was working fine, but today when i woke up my E2000 had no power it was still plugged in, do you think i fried it? i have only had it sence march and this has never happened before.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using the E4200 router with few issues for the past 5 months. I have the latest firmware installed and have 1 pc running Windows 7, a sling box device and USB storage drive connected in the rear and 7 wireless devices.
Over the past week, others in my household have been complaining of not being able to connect wireless. The other day, the connection quit for both wireless and wired connections. I thought it had something to do with my ISP (Comcast), and after I made a direct connect from my modem to my PC, the problem is the E4200. After unsuccessfully troubleshooting, I unplugged the router for a few hours.
Trying a few hours later, I was able to reconnect all connections. However, that lasted for a day and has not been able to connect. I did a reset and when going through the setup process, it says that it cannot connect to the internet. The only time I have any lights or activity on the internet port is when the router is booting up and then it goes off. The rest of the ports are working properly. Likewise, the link light on my modem shows no activity when connected to the E4200. The only connection I can make is to the browser utility.
I am now using another wireless router until I can get this resolved.
About 3 and a half months ago my internet connection has been extremely unstable. It will be fine for 20-30 minutes and then will spike up to anywhere from 4000 to 6000 latency and give me a constant disconnect for 2-7 minutes. This connection is affecting every computer in the house as well as the playstation 3 that is connected by wi-fi. All the computers in my house are hardwired.

My question is that cisco website says there are two type of cable connections for this type of config --which are --T1 CSU/DSU ConfigurationSet one CSU/DSU to clock source internal, and the other CSU/DSU to clock source line. The linecode, framing, data-coding, and timeslots must be set the same on both CSU/DSUs.Four-Wire 56k CSU/DSU Configuration For my network connection which type of config i should use??Secondly i try to connect these ports by normal crossover cable it did not work.So for this type of connection i know i need T1 cross over cable-- which has RJ 48 connections at both sides.I check cable from ebay which is RJ45 RJ48 cross over -- will this cable work in my router to router connection.
I have 1 2611xm router and 1 2801 router. For my own lab purpose, i want to configure them back to back to support voice services. I don't know what configuration will be required at each end. in 2611xm, i have NM-2V and its also detecting the card, so i hope it will work ? also what commands i need to run on both ends .

I noticed this alarm in my logs.( ASSERT CRITICAL PO1/0 Threshold Cross Alarm - B3) I've looked on-line but can't pinpoint it's meaning. Looks like a flapping interface but might be something else.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Motorola SB6121 DOCSIS 3 modem is connected to a Medialink n-band router. Sometime in the morning (usually between 7am and 9am, the router loses the ability to see the modem. I can access the router's control panel, and I see 0.0.0.0 for WAN IP, Subnet Mask, and Gateway. Primary and Secondary DNS server are both blank. Connection Mode is Dynamic IP.I lose the ability to access the modem's control panel directly (192.168.100.1), even though the PC I use is hardwired to the router. So, I unplug the modem, unplug the router, wait, plug in the modem, plug in the router, and everything works again.I've had more than twelve service calls. Every Charter tech looks at the line, puts in boosters, takes out boosters, replaces splitters, and seems to only look at signal. I've BEGGED Charter to let me speak to an engineer, because my suspicion is that it's something to do with the DHCP server.
I did, by the way, replace EVERYTHING.I have had 5 different modems...same problem. I have had 5 different routers...same problem, including a modem/router combo.I've tried different brands, too.I've disconnected all wifi devices from the router, and rebuilt my PC's operating system. I've even unplugged the refrigerator, because one Charter tech claimed it was "upstream noise."I've been online only a few times when the system actually goes down. What I notice in the router logs is this: [code] So at 9:34, no ranging response - T3 timeout, followed by Unicast Ranging Received Abort Response;
then the Cable Modem Reboot due to T4 timeout, and the system time goes to 1/1/1970 at midnight. No ToD.
The last piece of information: Charter installed a second modem as a "test." That was originally in the same room. A month ago they did another line from the box directly to the test modem to skip the splitter on the house. That modem shows the same problems, EXCEPT -- not perfectly in sync. I might see the same error, but the time will be a few minutes and seconds off. And sometimes I'll see the errors, but the modem won't go down.Sometimes the first modem goes down, sometimes the second. I'm accustomed to a router "healing" itself when the modem goes down.It might be off for a bit, but then will re-establish. This Medialink doesn't do that. It forces a physical restart every day. There are other outages too, and all I get from Charter is "the signal strength is good."
We have 3 sf-300 series switches in Layer3 mode deployed in different offices. We have found that approximately every 2-3 months at all 3 locations users experience a serious reduction in bandwidth. Only after rebooting the cisco does the problem go away and we're okay for another few months. some setting/feature that may be contributing to this? We are only using several ports and 1 static route on each switch. We are not using any of the bells and whistles on the switch. 2 of the switches are using the original firmware, whereas the other is using the newest firmware. Maybe this is just what we should expect from a Small Business switch?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for instructions on how to setup and connect two RV082 routers together with a crossover cable between their WAN ports. This is to connect two separate LANS together via an ethernet connection. For staging we are setting everything up with a crossover cable in our shop. Ultimately the crossover cable will be replaced by a microwave link between the two LANS several miles apart. There will be no internet connection.
View 7 Replies View Relatedsecuring a back-toback connection using E1.The connection is between two cities, using 2x CISCO 1841 router + VWIC-1MFT-E1 interface at each city.
The E1 connections has been provided by our local telco, and they are completely private. The customer is a bank, and they asking me if this is a secure connection or not. If possible, we need to guarantee that no body can get access to the bank network even if they brought E1 modem at one of the ends (telco PoP).
I searched a lot but couldnt find a clear document about connecting 2 G.SHDSL routers back to back.First of all I am not sure which type of cable (RJ11) is used for connecting two 878 routers. Does it have to be cross or straight cable.
Which RJ11 pairs will be connected each other [code]
According the configuration samples One router must be CPE and the other must be CO for simulating DSLAM.
I'm having some trouble getting two Cisco 888's to work correctly back to back.. The two routers will ultimately be used in conjunction with a BT EPS8 circuit which is effectively four wires short distance between customer sites. We have configured lots of these using the older Cisco 878's.
Anyway, as i've been struggling to get line sync on site I've gone back to basics and connected the two 888's back to back. However, I've found that no matter what I do I can only get the routers to sync at 384kbps!? And that's with a one meter RJ11-RJ11 cable.. Very strange. When we've used the 878's we get much more bandwidth. I have tried statically assigning the line rate at both ends but it still only works at 384kbps.
I have an E4200 and have added it to my network with a new static IP and DHCP and firewalls off.It runs off my cable modem and router (Virgin Media Superhub) that has DHCP.When I tell it to do a firmware update, traceroute or ping it fails, just wont do any of them.

Q1. What cabling i need to use to setup back to back BRI using 2x 2901 routers with these modules?
Q2. What cabling do i need to use.
Q3. Is it actually possible to use these 2 modules alone to simulate a back to back BRI..?
