View 1 RepliesMy DSL Modem connected right now to Linksys Model: WRT600N (Dual Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router) to give a wireless internet access in my house. I have TWO spare Linksys Wireless Router (WRT350N-Wireless-N Gigabit Router) and (WRT54G2-Wireless-G Broadband Router) that I need to use to expand my wireless network at home.
How can i connect the two routers to became an access point or range expander to existing router. It is possible the two spare routers became an access pt or expander? How can i configure that? Cable configuration?
I'm using a router WAG320N in my home but now i need to expand my lan with another ports and wireless coverage. In a wired point (connect directly to the router) i need 3 ehternet ports and a repetear of a wireless signal. The optimal solution woulb be a switch gigabit with an integrated acces point, but I understand that there is no such thing...So going to buyng the switch SE2500 and the AP WAP610N... but then I realized the existence of the bridge WES610N!But the information on the linksys italian site is not enough and the relative page does not works... i need to now if this object can take a wired lan replicate it in 3 ports and expand the wireless network of my router.

I have a netgear CVG834G main router, were my desktop is plugged on to.I pulled a new cable trough the house and garage to have internet access on the other side (cable length is about 80 meters). After the 80meters of cable I placed a Linksys WRT54GS v5.1 router. The problem is that I can connect to the Linksys, but the Linksys cant connect to the netgear. On the Linksys the internet LED is blinking very slowly (what does this mean?). So first I thought that the cable was broken or too long. I tested the cable => not broken. I connected the Linksys with the netgear trough a shorter cable and then connected my laptop via the long cable (80meter) and this works perfectly. Is the maximum distends a netgear can take less than 80 meters? (thought is was 100meter ).

I also have wireless security cameras and several laptops on the same connection. I occasionally have audio dropouts I suspect due to wireless bandwidth limitations. I have a Netgear WNR3500 Wireless-N Gigabit router that I would like to hang off of the Verizon router and move the Airport Expresses, which are 802.11N capable, to its Wi-fi connection. This would keep my audio streams separate from the video and other wireless traffic and take advantage of the 802.11N.I in configuring the router/s to facilitate this arrangement. When i run from that on any of the 4 ports back to my computer ( Win7). I get no internet access but if i connect the cable straight from the router there is no problem. I even attempted to use a older dlink router for the switches and no luck there at all. Any reason the internet would not be broadcasting through the switch.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just installed a Linksys WRT160N router. The signal started of good about 50 to 70 feet from the routers location. Now the signal is registering as low to good, about 54Mbps. I was wondering what options I might have to install a wireless bridge for expansion of the signal. I have configured an encrypted network using WPA2. I am wondering what the technical difficulty would be to install and configure it. I setup the WRT160N myself if that means anything.

The wireless single doesn't do very well on the second floor unless there is a device with a strong antenna. I recently purchased a WET610N Bridge and I have an extra WRT54GS (using frequency channel 1).
I would like to be able to add wireless to the 2nd floor by attaching the extra router to the bridge which would wirelessly connect to the router with the internet.
I went out and bought a e4200 today and the signal strength is worse than my WGT300n, is there any tweaks I can do to expand my signal strength?

View 3 Replies View RelatedBoth use the same encryption (WPA2-Personal), same channel and they are tested in the same location with g-only mode. Only one router is switched on at any one time during the test. When 3 g-client notebooks (of various brands) are associated with the E4200, the signal indicator is a single bar, wherelse they can get 3 bars with the WRT54G (in the same location). For Internet speed test on a 20Mbps link, WRT54G is able to substain about 10Mbps, but only 1-2Mbps with the E4200.
Is such difference in performance between the two router models normal? Is there any configuration required to tweak the E4200? Or is it a hardware related issue with E4200?
The E4200 has been updated with the latest available firmware as of yesterday.
we are currently using a modem router LINKSYS WAG120N Wireless-N ADSL Router but are not satisfied. lots of dead zones and I think that there are too many users for this AP. last count gave around 20 users. so I'm looking for a solution to be able to handle 20+ concurrent connections and with large coverage - 600 m² .
