I have a TP-Link wireless router which we have always been able to connect to the router with these laptops. My sister has come over to use our internet, which has worked before on her laptop, but now all of a sudden she can't connect to our router, it won't even allow her to type in the password it just says Windows can't connect to the network. I then tried one of our other laptop and after much battling it also refuses to connect to the router. eventually it did, but it still can't connect to the internet.I sat on the phone for about a hour with our network provider (I am from South Africa), and after trying many things, it still won't work. The guy said that there is nothing more to try.
I have a TP Link router installed at home with a 128 Bit encryption key. I have my home laptop and a couple of I-touches that are able to connect wirelessly. I have a laptop from work that I have not been able to connect to the TP Link after inputting the encryption key. how to be able to connect without affecting my home units that are already working?

I would like to connect a device (dataloger that sends data to a remote server via internet) which only has LAN port to a wireless network on the location. I managed to do this once with WA901ND configured in Client mode (WA901ND acts like a wireless card for this data loger).Does WR941ND support this feature (which feature should I use?) or should I buy WA901ND again?
I want to use TP-LINK TL-WA801ND as a repeater, at the same time I need to connect one PC to this repeater by UTP cable (the router has one RJ-45 port) will I be able to successfully connect this PC to internet using this router as a repeater ?

I have a D-link (DI-524)wireless G router I want to take advantage of. How can I connect the two routers (no cables to be used) together so I can have acces to the internet from my room?
I am running a Linksys Wireless G 2.4 GHz Broadband Router Model WRT54G. I am unable to open any ports. I upgraded to the latest firmware yesterday but still am unable to open any ports. I even turned off my Symantec Internet Security Suite Firewall but still am unable to open any ports.
So I am an owner of this router for the last 2 years: TL-WR542G - Welcome to TP-LINK . Today it died on me. All of its leds are lightning up, but it doesn't provide a wifi network, and won't give me an interface when i try to access it through 192.168.1.1 on my desktop . There seems to be nothing I can do about it , I tried pushing the reset button on it's back but it does nothing at all.
Do I have any other options to get some life back into it?
I looked at portforward.com and have forwarded port 3389 in the modem with the ip address set to the router's address. I've also forwarded 3389 in the router to the pc's address.
I've got a a tp-link TL-WR741ND, but I don't have a ADSL2+MODEM ROUTER, (ADLS MODEM). Instead I've got a orange usb modem, how can I install the device?
I had this problem for 3 months now, at random times I get no connection and the LAN led 1 in my router (which I am connected to) just keep blinking very fast, ADSL and ACT leds are just on. I tried to troubleshoot the problem and it detected 2 problems: "default gateway is not available" and "local area connection doesn't have a valid IP". even when it says that it is fixed, seconds later the problem is still there (sometimes it gives me one problem only). I tried many solution on the forum including reseting the router, disabling the laptop's wireless modem (I'm on a laptop) and even trying ipconfig/release - ipconfig/renew. everything is up to date and I update my antivirus (and it has auto update enabled). here are my specs:
I have a WISP internet connection. i have a Acess point tplink tl-wa5110g . i set it to wisp client router... My final goal is to share my wisp internet wirelesly.

is there a way to restrict the upload and download of computers on a wireless network (or at least get the router to favor one computer over the others?)i have a tp-link TD-W8960N router and the computer i need the extra bandwidth on is connected to the router via cable
I have IBM X3200 M3 ( with onboard 2 LAN ) not connected into internet,tplink modem router + wireless ( ADSL MODEM )--->cisco E2500---->ibm x3200 m3( ubuntu )

I have configured the acess point on wisp client router mode and wan type to pppoe gave the username and pwd..Now i want to share internet wirelessly. now my question is that can i connect the aces point to wan port of the wirless router to share internet wirlessly? Because i have seen the instruction figure in tplink access router where they have shown that u can connect it with with unmanage able switch to share it to wired lan.i want to ask can wirless works to share internet if i use wireless router to access point.
I bought a tp-link WA701ND and a netgear WGR614. i wish to pick up signal using 701 and then let 614 repeat it. no more tech support coz im already broke.
When i was looking for a wireless card, everyone seemed to be having connectivity issues with all of these cards, and i regularly have interference issues when the microwave is used which completely knocks off my connection. How to connect a second router as i have a telephone port in my room so i am able to connect my PC/PS3 via ethernet. Just some basic info, I'm on the O2 wireless network using their Thomson router, and i also have a Bt Homehub 2 lying about for some reason.
Can a router connect to a switch to gain additional ports (to both access the internet AND to maintain an internal / home network)?IP line to house, connected to modem, connected to 4-port router, connected to 8-port switch. Now, each of six rooms in my house has one Cat-5e (RJ-45) jack whose run terminates to the switch. In some of these rooms, I need two wired devices (wireless isn't an option for the devices). Can I use the LAN port of a spare, wireless router (to also use as an access point for cell phones, etc) to plug into the jack and increase the number of ports in that room to have a functional LAN and WAN? I have read tons of info on plugging switches into routers to increase the number of ports, but not the other way around. Plus, ripping open walls to expand the network isn't feasible either. My other thought, would be to replace the switch with another (2nd) router, by connecting the 1st and 2nd routers together, and have the runs terminate to the open LAN ports of both routers --= and then expand the ports in those rooms by also using additional, spare wireless routers.
I just bought a e3000 and I have a 24 ports switch. I would like to plug more than 8 pc...how do I proced ? I used to have a dlink router and just plug a cat5e from the dlint to the switch ... but it doesn't work with the e3000
I can't open up any ports.I've tried using applications such as Simple Port Forwarding, PFPortChecker and manually by opening my router gateway (192.168.1.1).I can open a port, but if I check whether the port is open, it says that the port is closed. I tried opening ports through Windows Firewall and even disabling firewall, still won't work.
A year or so ago, when Verizon was my ISP, I ran a Minecraft server with a Hamachi VPN. I had looked into forwarding ports at the time, but decided to go the VPN route because I wasn't completely sure how to assign a static IP to a computer on the network. I had absolutely no issues setting up the VPN or hosting a server on the network.Recently I decided to give port forwarding a go again. I successfully assigned the static IP and put the port number into my router's port forwarding settings, but the port was still closed. I tried using online port checker tools and having friends try to log into the Minecraft server. No luck. After reading multiple port forwarding tutorials to make sure I had everything correct and double- and triple-checking all my settings, I began to suspect that something else was causing the problem. I have an older router set up as a repeater on the network so my family can connect to the Wifi network from anywhere in our house. Thinking maybe the repeater or even the main router itself was to blame, I decided to try another router. After disconnecting the current routers and setting up a spare router I had, I tried everything again. Still no luck.
I tried opening different ports unsuccessfully. No port I tried opening would work. I decided to give in and just set up Hamachi again, since that had worked flawlessly before. However, after setting up a Hamachi VPN, I realized people could join the "room," so to speak, but could not connect to the VPN itself. Even hosting a Minecraft server over Hamachi wasn't working this time.Assuming it was just an issue with Hamachi, I tried another VPN software. I got the same error - people could log in, but not connect to the VPN. Thinking back to the port checker telling me port 80 was closed, I pretty well gave up.I've walked one friend through setting up a VPN the exact same way I did, and it worked on the first try. I walked another friend through assigning a static IP and forwarding ports. I don't know what's different about my network that won't allow either of these things. I've searched my router's configuration for any setting that would override port forwarding or block a VPN, but I can't find anything.
I have been trying to block access to Steam and Left 4 Dead 2 on a specific computer, using the correct listed ports and using the port forwarding section of the router (setting the access to deny) however they seem to still be able to access both steam and L4D2 on their computer.how I can still block the access?
How many of the 881 switch interface ports can be used as router ports, have used the 877 etc where i can use 2 but need a low cost router that supports 3 for routing. (needs to be physical ports)

I have two(2) WR941ND routers working at my home. The primary has IP : 192.168.1.2 , this primary router is working as an Acess Point, DHCP is OFF, and no wireless security activated. This primary router is connected to a DSL modem+router and DHCP is activated on it.For the secondary router I configred 192.168.1.100 . On the secondary router I have activated WDS function as well as Wireless Security (WPA2) , DHCP is Off on it. This secondary router is to work as wireless bridge + Access Point. You will understand that this secondary router is wirelessly connected to the primary one.I am able to configure all, and all things work correctly for few days at a time. But if at any time the secondary router is switched OFF, and then again switched ON, it seems to have lost al the settings and its IPs, and thus unable to connect to primary router. At such time I am unable to locate /connect my laptop to this secondary router, and it keeps on searching & searching.

This wireless router keeps freezing. It might stay up for 6 hours at the most, then I have to reset it or unplug for 10 seconds to get it to reset. I updated the firmware a few months ago thinking this would solve the problem. It hasn't.
