Download speeds are reaching 1.1mb/s but browsing on the internet is unbelievably slow and fails to load pages most of the time saying the DNS look-up failed. I was thinking of purchasing the Buffalo Wireless-N300 Cable Router. I'm with Virgin Media, i think on 10meg broadband. I think it will support moving from wireless G to wireless N, but my laptop is fairly old too - Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook C series.

I have a NETGEAR WIRELESS-G ROUTER WGR614 which gain 192.168.0.13 but I need that gives ip's in the same subnet that TP link router. If the person connect to my wi-fi it should receive an ip like 192.168.0.*, I already try to disable the DHCP server in the NETGEAR but it's not working too. How can I do that ?
I just added a wireless router netgear wgr614 and I secured it and it worked for one day and then after that no internet connection. I've rest and unplugged both the modem and the router and still nothing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAt my office we have a simple network using a Netgear WGR614 V7 router. 4 XP machines are connected via Ethernet cable and three other people are connected wirelessly (one XP laptop, one Win7 laptop and one Win 7 netbook). It appears that whenever the netbook is on the network, the other two laptops lose connectivity. The wired machines are fine. Power cycling the router and rebooting usually solves the problem.

I've just bought a TL-WA701ND so that I could connect my TV to internet via this AP using client mode. However, when I tried to configure the AP into client mode by following the user manual and instructions, I failed in the last step where I need to ping the router IP address (192.168.1.1). It returned "Request Timeout". Configuration of my AP is as shown below and I make causing it couldn't ping the router.

I've never done anything with subnetting, but I was thinking I could just set the main nic to 192.168.10.20 with a subnet of 255.255.255.0 and the other to 192.168.10.250 with a subnet of 255.255.255.240 and the nas nic set to 192.168.10.251
Am I thinking through this right, or is there a better way to do this?

View 7 Replies View RelatedDownload speeds, per speedtest.net and speakeasy, are about 20mbps.When the speed test gets to the upload part, it usually hangs or takes a long time before giving me a result of about 0.04mbps. Basically, it's so slow, it sometimes just gives up and times out.This translates into a real shoddy internet experience because something as simple as choosing airline tickets requires your computer to "upload" your choices. And of course, if that doesn't happen within a certain amount of time... Timeout! I have tested the connection without my Netgear FVS336G Dual WAN router in the way and it is much better so I'm certain it's the router.When I tell the router to use WAN 2, which is where my AT&T DSL connection is on, the upload works just fine (about .4 mbps - I'm provisioned at 512kbps so it's fine).Also, this is the case on ALL computers on the network - wired, wireless, PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, you name it. So, it's definitely not device specific.

For about a month now, the 5G does not show up. It doesn't show up as a network to select no matter what device I use. I have reset the router and updated the firmware. Both connection lights are blinking. I recently purchased and IPhone 4 and still I do not have the option of selecting 5G.

In fact, I also have a Direct TV box hooked up for on demand and a sling box hooked up (both wired) and they work find. It's just my PC that is having issues. If I bypass the router and hook straight into the modem, it runs fine also so I have something going on between the router and this PC. I updated the NIC driver and this did not work. Before the update in the device manager, it said it was a NIVIDA nForce Network Controller (if I remember right) and now it says NIVIDA nForce 10/100 Mpbs Ethernet. It was suggested that I change my speed and duplex to match the router after I update but I am unsure what to change it to.

When I run a speed test on my comp I get 10-13 mbps download on average. Here's the issue, upon visiting my mothers house and running the same speed test I got very similar results. She is running a Lynksys G router on a DOCIS 2.0 cable modem with 12mps connection. My question is, how can this be so, am I at the limits of my comps g network card? as a disclaimer I would like to note I am connected to the G band on both routers.

I have a WDR4300 which works perfect with all devices in my house, but in my personal notebook (samsung 530U4B) wireless transfer speed is very slow in 2.4 GHz mode. 5.0 ghz works fine. I've tried everything, but I can not get good performance. at this moment I have to use a 741nd working with my wdr4300 in wds mode to use 2.4 ghz band properly.
I have a Netgear wireless router(WGR614 v9) and im trying to connect a second laptop to it. The laptop is accessing the internet when I have it connected to my modem via Cat 5 Patch cable.When I detach the cable from the laptop and modem, it doesn't connect to the internet. I went through the whole installing with the cd that comes with the router but after I finish I get the same results.

I have a wgr614 V6 router, yes its old. I had 3 devices connected to it just fine before without any issues. But now It only allows my laptop, when I try to connect with my ipod touch or desktop, not only does it fail, the entire network crashes and my laptop loses it and its gone. It then takes about 2 minutes to come back up. So whenever I attempt to connect with another device the network crashes. so right now only my laptop is connected.I downloaded & updated to the newest firmware, did not work.I tried resetting the router, and made the network all over again, did NOT work.
