Using Tplink Tl-wa5110g Wisp Client Mode With Wireless Router?
Jan 2, 2013
I have a WISP internet connection. i have a Acess point tplink tl-wa5110g . i set it to wisp client router... My final goal is to share my wisp internet wirelesly.
Now i want to ask what i have to do next. do i need wireless router and connect it with the Ethernet port of the acess point..
I have a tplink acess point TL-wa5110G . I have WISP ( wireless internet service provider). I have configured the acess point on wisp client router mode and wan type to pppoe gave the username and pwd..Now i want to share internet wirelessly. now my question is that can i connect the aces point to wan port of the wirless router to share internet wirlessly? Because i have seen the instruction figure in tplink access router where they have shown that u can connect it with with unmanage able switch to share it to wired lan.i want to ask can wirless works to share internet if i use wireless router to access point.
I'm trying to connect a non-wireless enabled pc to my virginmedia network by using a tp-link ta-wa500g router in client mode. The pc connects to the router via ethernet fine, and i can access the router admin page etc., but the router doesn't seem talk wirelessly to the virgin box. it finds it and everything, but i can't access the internet at all. i've tried removing the password, resetting everything, I've upgraded to the latest firmware, but have come to a bit of a dead end.

I have installed a mini router type MR3020.I have set it up to WISP mode in order to get wifi signal from my main router and be able to deliver wifi to other devices The main router is working fine and I can access internet with no problem.However, the mini router, which detects the main router, is unable to supply internet connectivity. The ip addresses in teh WAN part under network is zero. Though I tried many times to renew the ip address I was not able to get a valid IP address.
I have replaced my main router WRT300N running dd-wrt with the a stock E4200 and an old WRT54G aslo running dd-wrt configured for wireless client bridge. Now that I'm learning more about 802.11N, I was wondering what client can I use to achieve 5ghz simultaneously radio transmission since my current setup cannot do this in the 5ghz band. Can the E3000 be ran in wireless client bridge mode, if not what product can provide this? On the other thought am I understanding MIMO?
Old setup: 802.11G 2.4ghz WRT54G ))) ((( WRT300N ->ISP
Current Setup: 802.11N 2.4ghz MIMO? WRT300N ))) ((( E4200 ->ISP
Who knows the best version (DD-WRT or other) to repeat the wireless signal with a E3000?At worst, a client bridge mode could be sufficient for my needs...

My TL-WR700N does its job to provide wired internet to my desktop computer from another wireless router via client mode. However, when it is connected, the other wireless clients connected to the primary router lose their connections. To restore those connections, the WR700N must be powered down and the primary router must be restarted.
I hav bsnl broadband connection in my home.... I connected a tplink wired for browsing...I also have a belkin wireless router..... I connected those routers.... And only wired communication is possible
is there a way to restrict the upload and download of computers on a wireless network (or at least get the router to favor one computer over the others?)i have a tp-link TD-W8960N router and the computer i need the extra bandwidth on is connected to the router via cable
I have IBM X3200 M3 ( with onboard 2 LAN ) not connected into internet,tplink modem router + wireless ( ADSL MODEM )--->cisco E2500---->ibm x3200 m3( ubuntu )
i recently signed up with a WISP, due to the fact that i now live in a rural area. the installation guy showed me how fast i would download at with a speakeasy.net test, that day i was getting 875KB/sec transfer rate, and i was happy. That only lasted for a few days after i agreed he install the Motorola wireless radio. now for the last week i have only gotten speeds up to 104KBsec. note: this is also a burstable connection. my main problem is that when downloading torrents i m only getting around 1KBsec down, during late nights i will get sometimes up to 400KBsec. does this sound like throttling, because he told me that he never throttles his connection and that i should never go below a 3 Mb/sec, or a i m have a issue on my end?
My house has 2 floors.In the first floor i have a wag160n connected to adsl internet.On the second floor i want to use my old wag120n to connect wirelessly to the router in the first floor and redistribute the internet through his ethernet ports(through wag120n ethernet ports).I want to do this because on the second floor where the tv is i want to connect a dreambox that has only ethernet connection so i can give internet to it via the wag's 120n ethernet ports.
1) Apparently, my Cisco modem likes to assign new IP addresses to things, so I didn't figure out the web access page until an hour in (was NOT 192.168.1.245)
2) Do I input the same IP address, subnet, DNS and default gateway as my Cisco modem? It has a wireless router and switch bundled in, should I use the wireless network's MAC address or the wired?
Currently, it's set to 'automatically configure':
IPv4 Local IP Address: 192.xxx.x.xx Subnet Mask: 255.xxx.xxx.x Default Gateway: 192.xxx.x.x Primary DNS: 64.xx.xxx.xxx Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0
I can access the page fine, but I cannot get the wireless client working...
3) I did a site survey and found my existing network and inputted its SSID and MAC address, but nothing happens. I still get one bar on my wireless devices indicating the AP isn't working.
I have purchased 4 of these devices about 2 months ago and have experienced all of the issues reported within this thread. The came with the 2.0.0.5 FW rev installed, so unless the 2.0.0.5 on the cisco DL site is different, nothing I can do with that.I've tried making them work as stand alone AP's, Bridge<-> Bridge, etc... all modes seem to lock up eventually needing a reboot to get any functionality back.Ultimately, I need to make them work in AP<->Client-Repeater mode. I've not been successful in making them work in any mode for a prolonged period of time.
having just rfound this thread today, I have not tried hard coding the NIC's to 100/full, but will give it a try. If it works, great, but then that would defeat the purpose of buying an N radio AP. I would like the potential 300Mbps throughput.
I have a 1242 Access Point as root and a 871W Router as a non-root bridge (Diagram attached). I have a laptop connected to Fa 0 of the 871W router.
* I am able to ping from the AP to the Router and vice versa * I am also able to ping from the router to the laptop and vice versa * But I am not able to ping from the laptop to the AP
All bridging commands seem to be fine. Even tried adding route commands, but none seem to work.Please find the configuration below:

I've setup my nano router in client mode and successfully connected it to my existing wireless network by manually setting it's IP address to 192.168.1.2. The existing router has the IP address 192.168.1.1.
I know this has worked as I'm able to access the web management page from any computer in the house by visiting the IP address 192.168.1.2. So far so good.
However, my problem is that the nano router cannot speak to the internet. If I login to the web management page and go to diagnostics, I can ping every other device on the network fine, but I can't ping anything outside the network (e.g. 8.8.8.8 or [URL].
I've tried in vain to get this setup correctly, all I can assume is that the nano router isn't correctly determining that the existing router (192.168.1.1) is where it should be routing all external requests and they're just getting lost, but there's no configuration for that on the web management pages.
What kind of hardware are people using for mobile bridges? I have not had good luck with Cisco 1242's in bridge mode with mobile-client enabled. The only reason we're using the Cisco access point over standard industrial bridges is because we need to manually forward the mac addresses of the devices behind the bridge. These are being installed on robotic forklifts. They have a generic ethernet scrolling marquee installed that does not maintain any active connections and drops from the fowarding table in the bridge if not staticly configured. I'm looking for an alternative because the roaming is not nearly as smooth as it should be.
I need an AP that can run in client bridge mode. By that I mean a device that can be connected to a PC via the ethernet cable and provide wireless access because these older devices don't have wireless network cards?I looked at the WAP321 but it just uses a wizard. I need a device with IOS so that the PSK keys can be encrypted when viewing. I need to have the config backed up and the PSK can't be in clear text.

Am trying to use a TP-Link TL-WR702N to connect my Samsung SmartTV to a wireless network, using "client mode".For some reason, the TV refuses to accept it is connected, or even connected to a router. Enabling DHCP on the TP-Link does seem to convince the TV that it is connected to a router, but still not to the internet. Strangely though, I can control the TV via the Android app operating on the local network, so clearly it is connected. I assume the SmartTV is trying to get a response on the local network that the TP-Link is filtering out for some reason, but no idea why.
I have a TP-Link wireless router which we have always been able to connect to the router with these laptops. My sister has come over to use our internet, which has worked before on her laptop, but now all of a sudden she can't connect to our router, it won't even allow her to type in the password it just says Windows can't connect to the network. I then tried one of our other laptop and after much battling it also refuses to connect to the router. eventually it did, but it still can't connect to the internet.I sat on the phone for about a hour with our network provider (I am from South Africa), and after trying many things, it still won't work. The guy said that there is nothing more to try.
So I am an owner of this router for the last 2 years: TL-WR542G - Welcome to TP-LINK . Today it died on me. All of its leds are lightning up, but it doesn't provide a wifi network, and won't give me an interface when i try to access it through 192.168.1.1 on my desktop . There seems to be nothing I can do about it , I tried pushing the reset button on it's back but it does nothing at all.
Do I have any other options to get some life back into it?
I looked at portforward.com and have forwarded port 3389 in the modem with the ip address set to the router's address. I've also forwarded 3389 in the router to the pc's address.
I've got a a tp-link TL-WR741ND, but I don't have a ADSL2+MODEM ROUTER, (ADLS MODEM). Instead I've got a orange usb modem, how can I install the device?
I have a TP Link router installed at home with a 128 Bit encryption key. I have my home laptop and a couple of I-touches that are able to connect wirelessly. I have a laptop from work that I have not been able to connect to the TP Link after inputting the encryption key. how to be able to connect without affecting my home units that are already working?
I have tplink router wr941nd. it was working fine but i when tried to use it again after some months i encountered this strange problem in which i am unable to connect to the router through its lan ports where has i can access the router through wlan i have tried reinstalling the firmware i have even installed dd wrt on it but i am unable to access it through the lan port.
I had this problem for 3 months now, at random times I get no connection and the LAN led 1 in my router (which I am connected to) just keep blinking very fast, ADSL and ACT leds are just on. I tried to troubleshoot the problem and it detected 2 problems: "default gateway is not available" and "local area connection doesn't have a valid IP". even when it says that it is fixed, seconds later the problem is still there (sometimes it gives me one problem only). I tried many solution on the forum including reseting the router, disabling the laptop's wireless modem (I'm on a laptop) and even trying ipconfig/release - ipconfig/renew. everything is up to date and I update my antivirus (and it has auto update enabled). here are my specs:
Is there a client mode option for the DIR-655?I just got a nice cable modem/router from my ISP and I'd like to re-purpose my DIR-655.If I could turn a usb webcam, printer, or harddrive into wireless client, that would be cool. I would just rather re-purpose the device versus selling it.
I've been trying to set up my TP-Link WR740N router but it always give the error "Failed to Verify router settings" on the last step of the set up screen. Broadband: Globe broadband (Wired)Modem: Siemen Gigaset SE260 I'm also confused on the 2nd Set up screen, it gives the option to select Dynamic IP Static IP PPoEI've tried using the Dynamic IP and PPoE but still getting the same error message
I bought a tp-link WA701ND and a netgear WGR614. i wish to pick up signal using 701 and then let 614 repeat it. no more tech support coz im already broke.
