Unable To See Connection (router VWR-VD) Under Connections

Im having trouble connecting to my router, everything was working fine till two weeks ago, I have a Vonage D-Link router model: VWR-VD and and have 3 computers, 2 desktops and 1 Laptop. one desktop is connected directly to the router and works fine, the laptop is connected wireless and it works fine too. the other desktop has a Realtek 8185 extensive 802.11 bg wireless devise VEN 10EC / DEV 8185. the computer was working fine till 2 weeks ago that I don't know what happened but now I'm able to see other connections but not my connection (my router). on the task bar when I click on the bars for my connection, my connection does not appear.I've tried the following: Reinstall the Driver reset IP I tried to change the homegroup, but I couldent due to the fact that I'm not connected?

I recently moved house to a flat where I now have an adsl wireless router. Ever since I installed it its been major problems for me, my speeds are terrible takes ages to load a webpage and days to download anything. Also I have tried to stream to my apple tv through the use of airplay mirroring but this again doesn't work and an error code appears every time which I then looked up and it says its to do with my firewall blocking incoming connections. I have gone to my routers settings to try change this and it says to select the options by clicking the radio buttons however they do not exist on the page as you can see on the screenshot below.

I connected the router to the modem with an ethernet cable and the laptop to the router with another ethernet cable. A CD came with a router (Router: Asus RT-N10), so I put that into the laptop and followed the setup. The setup offered me to install something called Wireless Router Utilities, so I followed the setup and got to the point where it asked me to connect all cables etc. I did it already, but it kept telling me that the cables aren't connected. "Unable to detect the wired connections" I decided to skip that step and opened the browser, typed in the IP and got to the other setup thing. I typed in my ISP user/pass and I guess it sorta worked. I want to configure the router etc., to pass it and all. I go to the control panel, setup new connection, type the router PIN, I name the network, I put a passkey, and I click next.It says "Setting up [network name]" and after a minute it says "The network set up was unsuccessful". And that's it. No error notes, no nothing, just a button which allows me to retry.The OS is Windows 7 Home Basic. It's a new computer so almost nothing is installed. No anti-virus etc. Router: Asus RT-N10. Modem: Billion BiPAC 5200RC ADSL2.

I have a Toshiba Tablet PC that came with the configfree software. It worked fine for a while but then it started giving connectivity problems. I tryed to disable Configfree by all means possible to no avail. Then I decided to uninstall it successfully, but I still can't return the network connections control to windows. It seems like it is still under configfree. My guess is that some internal switch at the registry level is still saying that the wireless control is not windows.

I ve just finished setting up my first serial connections between two sites using Cisco 1800 routers. I can make connections from Site A to Site B using Windows XP clients, eg accessing exchange server 2007 running on Windows 2003x64, but the main problem is that when I try to configure Windows 7 clients to connect to exchange server on the other site, I can't make connections , no ping, no ssh , no http. What amuses me more is that I can connect to Windows 2008 servers using both Windows XP and 7.

I have just moved homes and I am unable to connect wirelessly to the internet through the network in my new house. The computer is connected to the network with excellent signal strength but access shows as local only and will not connect to the internet.
All other computers have been able to connect to the internet with no problems, and my computer will connect to other wifi connections, no problem.I can connect with a wire directly to the router, but no luck with wifi. I have also had this problem with one previous wifi network. I have tried many things, including taking the compter to a computer shop for them to look at and having another professional look at it, but so far no luck.

I currently use samsung R440 laptop with win 7. The problem is right now, I can't detect any wifi connections and bcause of that, I can't acces the internet. Before this, it works just fine but last week, my laptop can't detect any wifi connections. In the adapter setting, I found that there is no wireless connection icon . There is only local area connection. I don't how to repair this. The wireless lan on my keybord is on but still it can't detect anything.

We have a Cisco RV042 Router. Two ISP's and using dual wan setup. We are trying to connect to a pc on our network using rdp. The pc we are trying to connect to has been configured to listed for rdp on port 3390. I have tested it internally and connect via rdp thru said port.
I have setup a port forward rule on the router to forward port 3390 to the ip of the pc. I have setup protocol binding for port 3390 service on wan1.

I have recently acquired one of these routers. I thought, being a Cisco product, it would be the bee's knees. It is not. After finally getting the network set up - no mean feat, although I do not claim any expertise, but had to resort to some other network management software to finally get it all running - the router drops either the WAN connection or the wireless connection many times a day. The laptops often show as being connected to the network/router, but are unable to access either the internet, or the router via the browser. Re-booting the router is the fix, but, hey, I can achieve that sort of performance with any old $20 router - none of my old Net gear routers was this troublesome.
The permanent fix would seem to be a firmware upgrade, but guess what? The only options available under the "Administration" tab are time setting and switch settings - no firmware upgrade. The supplied firmware is 1.01.09(001) Apr 7 2010. Why these products are supplied, as new, without the latest firmware installed beats me, but there you go.

I have a Beetel 450BXi modem with is ADSL2+Modem.It was provided by an ISP (ISP-1) however I have changed my ISP (ISP-2) and was using this modem satisfactorily for some time. However due to change in locality, I had to subscribe to a new connection of ISP-2, however the modem is not working even after hard reset.The ISP-2 network guy is not able to figure out the problem. They swapped the modem with their own modem which was working fine, however the beetel modem is not working. In the beetel modem DSL and WLAN links are working perfectly however the Internet link is not working.

I have a sky router (Netgear DG834GT), which i have connected a secound router to which is a D link DIR-615 (with DD wrt firmware D4).I can get access to the sky router remotely without any issues even when changing the port number. its the Dlink router i cannot get access to remotely (within the network i can by typing in the dlink's ip address and works). Main router Sky router IP is 192.168.0.1 - Currently the port number is 8081.Secondary router Dlink IP is 192.168.0.2 (Static ip) - currently the port number is 8080.I have tried to configure the ports but it just dont want to open. Ive tried to open the ports on main netgear and tried all the option my dlink for port forwarding. i must be missing something fundametal here.

I have installed a mini router type MR3020.I have set it up to WISP mode in order to get wifi signal from my main router and be able to deliver wifi to other devices The main router is working fine and I can access internet with no problem.However, the mini router, which detects the main router, is unable to supply internet connectivity. The ip addresses in teh WAN part under network is zero. Though I tried many times to renew the ip address I was not able to get a valid IP address.

I have used the WRT54GC (v2.0) router for a few years now, everything worked as smooth as butter, but a few days ago it just stopped detecting the internet connection. Everything works fine with the modem. After resetting the router, I tried to reinstall everything using the setup wizard but at the eleventh step, a pop-up message appears saying that it is "unable to detect the Internet connection" and, like I said previously, the modem works just fine. The username and password for the connection are correct (connection type: PPPoE).

I have had a problem with my WRT400N wireless Linksys router. Whenever my router restarts or if the DHCP lease expires, I'm unable to connect to internet. During this time I can access the router, but not the internet. Oddly something that seems to "fix" this is if I use my nintendo wii to access my wireless internet at that time, all computers on my network are able to access the internet. However this is annoying to do since this happens once a day from DHCP lease expiring. Using any other computer to attempt to access the internet at this time would be unable to get a connection until I do the "fix" with the Wii. WRT400N

I recently had to reinstall Windows XP on my Panasonic Toughbook but when I did, I now don't have any way of getting a wireless internet connection. I don't see the wireless card in the hardware list and there's no wireless connection listed in the network connections. (This laptop came with Vista Business but I wanted XP since I'm more familiar with it.)

I'm trying to setup a Linksys wireless-g router model number WRT54G with my DSL connection. I followed the basic instructions that came with the router and towards the end of the process it says detecting network settings with a % bar. The bar fills to 100% and then asks for a password. I've tried the password my DSL company gave me along with various other things like admin etc. After I enter the password I hit enter and it just asks me for the password over and over again.

I've recently picked up a E4200 to build a dual band network which is targeting to link up (TV, media server, ps3, laptops) then (maintaining phones etc which only has b/g). While currently only laptops.Before doing any of these I have another cisco modem router DPC3825 which worked fine with giving wireless access.I first attemped to leave the modem router has is and connected the E4200 (ethernet 1 to internet), and changed ip to x.x.0.1 and x.x.0.2 while disabling wireless on the dpc3825 and the DCHP on the e4200 and have default gateway to x.x.0.1. My laptops can connect to wireless on E4200 but it couldn't get internet access.
Then I tried turning the modem to bridge mode & resetted E4200 (factory setting x.x.1.1, auto DHCP), and then connected my devices to both wireless bands. At this point I see router status obtained ip from ISP and Internet reached full speed per ISP's mark but the connection only held up for about 1 minutes. I noticed all the devices still maintained connection to router wirelessly but the router loses internet connection (lost the ip and couldn't get it back).

My EA4500 router seems to drop mine and my wife's iPhone wifi connection at what appears to be the edge of my router's range. When we come back in range, our iPhone's intermittently give the error "Unable to join network.". And we're stuck in that mode. When I check the Devices menu in the CCC interface, I notice the iPhone device is configured and still online. However the "x" box to delete the device is greyed out because it's online. Purchased E2500 1 week ago. I do not have a problem communicating with the router itself (either hard wired or wireless) but I have been unable to establish a usable internet connection from the router.I live in building that is wired by Restech Services - Ethernet jack in wall - no modem. Connection works just fine if I bypass router and connect directly to PC (windows XP SP3 desktop or windows 7 laptop.),Very difficult to establish any internet connection at all. I have to renew IP address many times or go through re-boot sequence multiple times. Once I get a connection it is unusable. If I attempt to ping a URL (either from PC or from router admin page) it is unable to resolve host. If I ping an IP directly (either from PC or router administrator page) I typically get 60 to 80% packet loss. As noted, if I bypass router and make internet connection directly to PC - no problems - no packet loss.Used Cisco Connect software to set up. On advice of ISP changed MTU from 1500 to 1300. Also registered MAC id with ISP and changed from cloning PC MAC to using the router MAC. Downloaded and installed latest firmware version. Did factory reset and re-configured the whole thing. Double checked and swapped wiring.

My D-Link DIR-300 very often loses connection on wired and wireless connections. It stops connecting to Internet randomly i.e. any URL typed in from the browser times out.I connect various devices such as desktop, laptop, ipad2 over wired and wireless connections and the behavior is the same from all devices when this problem occurs. If I make a direct connection to the DLS modem, it works fine for the whole day, without these issues.I also observed IP address conflict messages and my desktop does not connect to Internet if I am running VPN on my laptop, at the same time, occasionally.When this occurs, I am able to login to the router and can see the WAN status and the DHCP address being allocated to the router. I can even do DHCP release and renew, but that does not fix the problem.

I just recently purchased a Cisco ASA 5505 ASA ver 8.2. I run a teamspeak server/ssh/dns and domain on the same server on the network. Before I switched to the asa, I have a regular DGL-4100 that ran with no issues. I have noticed that the connections are very unstable and disconnect frequently and when they do they take 1 to 5 minutes to be able to reconnect. I have done some cisco IOS but am fairly new to this. [code]

Since successfully restoring my laptop to factory settings I have been unable to connect using my Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection.Initially it worked, but after a while it stopped. I have completed several system restores, and the wireless connection works for a few days. On the last occasion (after installing windows updates) I received the dreaded blue screen and have been unable to connect.I am not sure if it is related to installing new windows updates as prior to restoring to factory settings I had no issues with my wireless connection.I am able to connect using the ethernet cable and I am currently able to connect using Pluscom wireless usb adapter. I have 2 ethernet cards (1 on board & another PCI ), 1 switch & 1 static ip to connet my broadband connection. I connected the broadband cable to onboard ethernet & configured the ip,subnet mask, gateway, DNS1 & DNS2. Internet connection was established. I also established an another cable between PCI ethernet card and switch. I configured the 2nd card to ip 192.168.1.1 . But when I tried to share a connection, my internet stopped to work.

I have been wanting to share the wifi on my laptop with my desktop. However whenever I enable ICS on my wireless connection and then plug in the ethernet cable to my laptop and my desktop, the wireless automatically turns itself off and only the LAN connection between my laptop and desktop is active. I have done a lot of googling and read a lot of forums, but unable to find a way wherein I can let my wifi remain enabled even after plugging in the LAN cable.

A week ago I accidently clicked the disable icon on wireless network connection on the bottom right icon on my PC screen. I quickly reversed this but now for some reason, all the wireless networks that are around me cannot be picked up on my Phillips Freevents Windows XP.it was able to pick up two wireless connections and now, not even a trace of one. The other laptops in the house can pick up the wireless connections so I know its working.The internet works when the box is connected to the computer but I need the box in another room so wireless is essential.
