Wndr3700 - Use Router To Connect Wired Xbox To Wireless Network?

I'm sure it's on here but because I dont understand the name of what I'm looking for, I'm having trouble searching. My main network is setup for wireless via a netgear wndr3700. I'd like to use my old linksys wrt54g v5 to connect to that network wirelessly and allow me to connect my xbox via wired ethernet. Basically instead of buying a wireless adapter for the xbox, i'd like to know if/ how i can use my linksys router instead.
I'm having trouble connecting my 360 to the wireless router to gain Internet access.I use my phone's Wi-Fi to gain internet access with NO issues. My current setup: NetGear Wireless router is connected to my D-Link wired router, and I can access the internet no problem. (10 MBPS down, 5MBPS up)When I try to connect the 360 to the Netgear Wireless router, it connects to the Network, but Internet test it reads "DNS error - The router or modem may mot be automatically providing DNS settings. Try a manual DNS setting instead."(Next suggestion) "DNS Error - If you have a PC that can successfully browse the web, check it's network properties to find the DNS address it uses..."Now, I have XBMC running on my computer, and the 360 can access the network so it shows up under Video Apps so I can see a file list to stream movies. When I try to run a movie, it says I must download an update - so I can't watch the movies at all.I juso set it up so I can access the Network AND Internet.Again, Netgear wireless router (which 360 connects to) connected to D-Link wired router.
I have been having some issues connecting my PC to my XBox360 using the wired approach, it seems to be massively temperamental to a point i decided to not connect the XBox via my router and instead put it straight into my spare network port on my PC. The basic jist of mynetwork confirguration is something like this: Internet cable > Virgin Media 256 Modem > Linksys BEFSR41 Router > PC. I had no issues with this setup, but as soon as i wanted to add my XBox into the mix, things got tricky. I plugged the network cable from my Xbox originally into one of the ports on my router and then went through the settings on both my Xbox and router. Again, i had absolutely no confidence in doing this myself since i don't mess with it, but after reading guides i finally got it sorted. Well, partly sorted. I was able to connect to my Xbox Live, however i was unable to connect to my Xbox to my PC (To stream files onto the Xbox). This was what i wanted to do, i didn't really want to use the Live anyway. So i went off to work again. In the end nothing was working, so i opted to connect my Xbox directly into my PC - So it was no longer connected through my router. I could SEE my PC on my Xbox, but i was unable to connect to it to stream anything. I then opted to disconnect my router (For no other reason than to rule it out) - Sure enough, the very second i disconnected the router, i was able to instantly connect to my PC and was streaming straight away. Once i was streaming, i was able to reconnect my router and that was that. But if i turned off my Xbox i would need to also turn off my router the next time i wanted to stream. How can i fix this so i don't have to continually turn off my router, is there a setting somewhere in the options on my router which can allow me to connect to my Xbox? Yesterday i was playing online on my Xbox 360, and was disconnected from the internet. I came downstairs to reset router/modem, once doing so i went into the router settings for my Linksys WRT54G. My modem by default uses the 192.168.1.1, so my router was 192.168.2.1... So i powercycle, log into router settings through 192.168.2.1 and start setting up my port forwarding for the xbox ports. Saved Settings, and the page would not load to say "Settings Saved". Closed the window and now my pc says no internet connection. I had to create a VPN broadband connection to even use the internet on my pc. I can no longer log into 192.168.2.1 for my router, nor can i access 192.168.1.1 to even get into my modem settings.. I'm using windows 7, and the automatic troubleshooting guide tells me to powercycle my modem. My xbox can still see my wireless network "linksys" but will not connect to it, even with the VPN connection i am still hooked though my router and modem.. Im afraid that my router just out of nowhere "died"..
So i got the Asus RT-AC66U router and ive setup everything as far as the 2.4 and 5ghz wireless goes. However, for some reason i cannot get my xbox 360 to connect to the wireless network. I tried both the 2.4 and 5ghz network. It sees the network just wont connect. also ive tried to manually add the ip and dns settings to no avail either
My network is discoverable, but my machines will not connect (they were connected previously). They can connect to the 2.4gHz network, but not the 5 (I use the 5 for streaming media and gameplay). Windows 7 says it's unable to connect.
I have a xbox 360 that I want to connect to xbox live with, using my home network. Every time I try to connect to xbox live the only part that fails is the connecting to xbox live part. This is how my network is set up. I have Cox Cable as my ISP, a Linksys WCG200 gateway(v2), and WRT54GS(v7). The cable wire is connected to the WCG200 gateway, then an Ethernet cable connects the gateway to the WRT54GS router, and finally an Ethernet cable connects the router to my xbox 360. I have contacted Cox, Linksys, and Microsoft about the situation and they all say the problem is the version of the router. Someone told me that I may just need to change the firmware, but I don't know how to do that.
I cannot connect through my wireless router (Netgear WNDR3700) WITH MY INSPIRION DUO. I can connect with a verizon MYFI wireless card, and alo through ethernet on Duo. I get "Problem with wireless adapter or access point" The software driver is newest. System ism W7 Home premium
There are 2 XBox's in the house and 1 is downstairs wired into the WRT320N Router. The upstairs XBox is running wirelessly through the router. Each of the XBox's work fine playing Modern Warfare 3, when only one is playing, but if both of us are playing, the wired connection works great, while the wireless connection is really slow and laggy. Again, the wireless XBox runs fine as long as the wired XBox isn't also playing MW3.
So I have a Netgear N600 WNDR3700 wireless router setup at home, and it works great for wireless, but when I plug in my desktop with CAT6 Ethernet cable to the router (didn't bother putting a wifi card in my desktop) for some reason it won't connect to the internet. I know the cable works because I've used it in the past, but for some reason I can't get it to work with my Netgear router.
I have a DSL modem, model AG10W. I can't seem to figure out how to forward ports to xbox. No one seems to have this router/modem. I got it from a company here in town. I don't know much about this type of stuff.
I puchased the N600 WNDR3700v3 Dual Band Gigabit Router. I am able to see my wireless account I set up and is out there to connect to, but I cant connect. I can connect with an ethernet cord, but nothing wireless. It doesnt work for my home or work laptops. Prior to this I had another wireless set up and I am tempted to plug that one back in.
I am looking to get a wireless card to share my wired desktop connection for my tablet, laptop and phone and xbox 360 slim. A wireless router would seem the obvious solution but the accommodation I have at uni charges £15.00 just to allow a router to be used.

I'm using a wireless adapter with my xbox because for some unexplainable answer the wired ethernet port quit working, but when my dad uses the internet on his wired pc I get booted off xbox

I'm running both the 2.4 GHz and the 5.0 GHz networks over the same SSID. The goal, obviously, is to get everything over to N if possible. I've heard that wireless N has much better signal and transfer rates, is this true? Also, is running the two different frequencies with the same SSID problematic? It's kind of strange, because my Nexus One is having a difficult time staying connected to the network in my office while the main workstation laptop in the same room is getting a much better signal.

What's interesting is that both are running on the 2.4 GHz networks, essentially both not on the wireless n network, which kind of defeats the whole purpose of things. Is it bad to run both the 2.4 and 5.0 GHz networks with the same SSID? If using a network repeater, is it bad to rebroadcast the original network with the same SSID as the source network? It seems that the 5.0 GHz network is getting "clobbered" by the 2.4 GHz network. Is it really necessary for me to broadcast using different SSIDs?
I've recently started studying for the CCNA exam and one of the first things you learn is the type of cabling required between devices.Basically, I got curious and checked to find that my pc and e2000 router are connected via a straight-through cable even though it's supposed to be that a router and pc share the same pin layout and should be connected via crossover cable. It's the same story with my xbox and ps3 (also wired directly to the router via straight-throughs).
My Xbox 360 will not connect to my Cisco E2000 wireless router. It can find the router, but when the Xbox tests the connection it can’t establish a connection with the router. Ironically when I try to use the guest account it can establish a connection with the router before I run in to trouble.
I wanted to know if I can somehow setup my network to use a proxy for all connected devices?
For example I can go into Firefox proxy settings and setup to browse using proxy. Is there any way to do this at the router or switch level to not have to configure every device individually I have a wndr3700 router and a HP procurve 1810g switch and am thinking of building a pfsense box.
I have an E4200 router with 3 WET610N access points. I did the firmware update on the router, E4200, about 2 weeks ago so my son could use his xbox when he got home after 4 months of being away. Everything seemed to work OK as far as I could tell....but when he went to sign into xbox live and watch Netflix, it will load to 98% and stop. A friend of his came over with the new Slim xbox 360 with built in wireless and it will connect fine on its own, if we hook up one of the 610N's to it, it will load to 98% on Netflix and stop again with error code R8152. Both of my older xbox's will hook up and play on xbox live, just not work with Netflix.I also noticed, it shows the WET610N as a hard wire on xbox and will not search for any wireless networks, I have 2. The newer Slim xbox360 will search out both networks on its own if you allow it to use its internal wireless. This only happened since the firmware update.
I got the new E4200 router as I had issues with my old router. I was able to DMZ my console with the old router. But with my new router my xbox IP has changed and I want to know which numbers to use and how to DMZ my Xbox with Cisco Connect.
More often than not, when my son wants to play on Xbox Live, the Xbox won't connect to Xbox Live. It will connect to the network and the internet but not Xbox Live. After running the connection test, the suggestion is to reboot the modem and router. It works after rebooting those two devices. Why does this happen so often?
I have a Cisco E2000 and I have multiple devises that work but not my xbox 360. I have 2 computers 2 iphone 4s 2 ipods iphone 3gs
They all connect to the internet fine. My Xbox 360 never connected. the xbox can connect to the router. Then the router cannot connect to the internet.
I just need a a way to connect my xbox 360 to the internet. I considered buying a WET610N and was wondering if it will connect to my E2000? I can't use one of microsoft adaptors because something is wrong with my usb ports. Or if it is possible am I able to connect a WET54G? I'm not looking to play online just get connected wirelessly. Will either one of these bridges connect to the E2000?
It worked fine for my PC's and Xbox, but I had disconnected my router for a while, plugged it back in and my xbox simply cannot receive any connection. I should also note that I use an ethernet cord (I don't use it wirelessly) and it has nothing to do with the ethernet cord (I've tried several). Using network magic, it does confirm that a connection to the game console and the router.I've looked through the forums and all of what I found, are NAT problems/issues or fixing a wireless issue, but not an issue when using an ehternet cord.
As a temp work around I have two SSID now, one for everything else running WPA2 and one for xbox running WPA. The xbox seems to not like the router on WPA2 and though this would make one think, oh its your xbox, thats not always the case with devices. Some just may happen to want to use a feature the device doesn't support correctly and other devices are able to work around it while ones not so I cant for sure blame on xbox.
I have successfully configured my Cisco RVS4000 for VPN Access, and Installed QuckVPN on my client machine. I can connect using QuickVPN no problem, but I cant access anything on my network. When I try pinging any of my servers I am unable to do so. I can ping my gateway thats about it.
I just upgraded my wireless router to a D-Link DIR-655. I have 2 PCs and a network storage device (D-Link DNS 321) connected via ethernet to the router. I also have an xBox 360 connected wirelessly to the router. The xBox is able to connect to the internet via the router, but it cannot connect to (see) the PC's or the network storage device. It was able to do so with my old wireless router (a Belkin), but it stopped with the DIR-655.
WRT610v2 running latest firmware. xbox 360 sees both the 2.4 network (ssid = network1) and the 5.0 network (ssid network2) when it does its scan.
Initially, xbox showed network strength for 2.4 network at 3 out of 4 bars and 5.0 network at 1 out of 4 bars. Connects to 2.4 network just fine, Won't pull an ip address and reports "Not connected" when I select the 5.0 network.
I tweaked the wireless settings per some suggestions I found in this forum and now it shows the 5.0 network at 4 out of 4 bars signal strength. Also turned security on and off and xbox 360 reported the changes in security on the 5.0 network. So the xbox 360 is definitely seening the 5.0 network. and can tell if it is running WPA2 or not. If it can see the 5.0 network and recognizes what security and network type (infrastructure) is set, would would stop it from connecting to the WRT610n router and getting an IP address? No mac filters or firewalls are set and, again, connects just fine and gets an ip address if I select the 2.4 (network1 ssid) instead.
