D-Link DIR-655 :: Xbox 360 Wireless N Adapter Won't Use N Mode?
Aug 3, 2011No matter what I try, I cannot get the DIR-655 to connect to my Xbox 360 Wireless N Adapter with N, only connects with G. If I use N only mode, it won't connect at all, even if I manually input the settings. Setting the security to WPA2 Only and setting the Cipher Type to AES doesn't work.

Jan 7, 2011Seems like there those saying they have gotten there DIR-655 and XBOX 360 Wireless N Adpater to work in 802.11n mode. The adapter will only connect in 802.11g mode (and yes I have the correct adapter). I have set the settings to following

Wireless Channel 2.462 ghz - Ch 11
Transmission Rate Best
Channel Width 20/40
WPA-Personal
WPA2 Only

Does this router really work with XBOX 360 Wirelss N Adapater. If so, how has others got this to work.
D-Link DIR-615 :: Wireless Adapter Interference With Xbox 360?
Jul 19, 2012I have recently bought a wireless N 150 usb Dlink adapter, i have installed the software and have conected it to my router using WPS (I do not know the passphrase). The adapter is working excellent but when I added the adapter, my old SSID (Dlink) got switched to Dlinkelb7. Dlinkelb7 has full bars when the old Dlink only comes up so often with one bar. Since the switch of Dlink to Dlinkelb7 my xbox 360 adapter has a very hard time connecting to Dlink and it will not connect to Dlinkelb7 because it needs a passphrase. My router is also Dlink Model DIR-615.

Aug 30, 2011My friend has had constant issues with his wireless network using his dated Linksys router. So he finally decided to upgrade to the Netgear N750. It's a dual band router that simultaneously broadcasts 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. He setup the 2.4 band for the laptops and mobile devices to access, and the 5 band just for gaming on his xbox 360 Slim. He immediately ran into a problem. The 360 slim's built-in wireless card only picks up 2.4 GHz frequencies. To remedy this, he purchased Microsoft's xbox 360 wireless-N adapter as it can pick up 5 GHz frequencies. However, there was no change after plugging the adapter into the 360 slim. His HP laptop can see the 5 GHz network just fine, so we know it's being broadcast. Could it be the xbox is out of range of the 5 GHz band? Is the adapter not functioning properly with the 360 slim?

Nov 15, 2012Ive been trying to work this out on XBL forum for a while. all my settings seem to be correct ( UPnP, NAT type: open, no port forwarding or triggering, IP settings on Xbox's are auto).
The two Xbox can play online separately, when either one of them attempts to join the others party it disconnects from Xbox live.
According to the microsoft website, Xbox live only supports the Hardware version 1A and Firmware: 1.00NA.
My router has B1 and 2.00NA. is there a way to downgrade?

Oct 29, 2012so my son has been playing xbox for way to long and i am trying to get him to go outside. i want to block the xbox from the network so it disconnects him when he goes on for to long. is there any program that i can use to do this so i dont have to manually take the Ethernet wire from his room every time.

I obviously cannot access the router settings because they are the schools routers and I do not have administrative privileges. So, Is there some other way to modify MTU settings without that access?

Nov 29, 2011Yesterday i was playing online on my Xbox 360, and was disconnected from the internet. I came downstairs to reset router/modem, once doing so i went into the router settings for my Linksys WRT54G. My modem by default uses the 192.168.1.1, so my router was 192.168.2.1... So i powercycle, log into router settings through 192.168.2.1 and start setting up my port forwarding for the xbox ports. Saved Settings, and the page would not load to say "Settings Saved". Closed the window and now my pc says no internet connection. I had to create a VPN broadband connection to even use the internet on my pc. I can no longer log into 192.168.2.1 for my router, nor can i access 192.168.1.1 to even get into my modem settings.. I'm using windows 7, and the automatic troubleshooting guide tells me to powercycle my modem. My xbox can still see my wireless network "linksys" but will not connect to it, even with the VPN connection i am still hooked though my router and modem.. Im afraid that my router just out of nowhere "died"..

This is how my network is set up. I have Cox Cable as my ISP, a Linksys WCG200 gateway(v2), and WRT54GS(v7). The cable wire is connected to the WCG200 gateway, then an Ethernet cable connects the gateway to the WRT54GS router, and finally an Ethernet cable connects the router to my xbox 360. I have contacted Cox, Linksys, and Microsoft about the situation and they all say the problem is the version of the router. Someone told me that I may just need to change the firmware, but I don't know how to do that.
