I can't get into my router's settings, when I try, chrome says the page is not available. I checked, the IP is correct, and I can't access it on multiple computersI recently changed a few setting. (I set it to max 300 mbs per second from 54, and one other thing that I don't recall) The problem occurs on three different computers(A mac and two PCs) I've restarted my router several times to no avail. What should I do?
I changed the router's IP to 192.168.2.1 due to the same situation as this [URL] linksys and now I can't access my settings I have tried the both pips and nothing and I can't seem to get my linksys wrt54gs v7.2 to let two computers be on the internet at the same time both can be on the network but on one on the internet
I installed an IP camera, and had to change my E1000 router settings to a static IP address. Now I can't access the router settings. 192.168.1.1 is still the default gateway, but it won't open in any browser.
I'm reluctant to do a reset because it took me quite a while to figure out how to get the IP camera and port forwarding working (it does!), and I'd hate to do it all again and come to the same place. I'm not very good at this stuff, and it's a small miracle that I did it once.
I just purchased an E2500 wireless router. I put the Cisco Connect setup disc in and it could not find my router. With excellent Tech Support, I got it to work. I still do not have any Cisco Connect software on my PC to set passwords or preferences. If I try to run the disc again, it gives me a system critical error and shuts down my computer. How can I get software to access my router settings?
Have a PS3 that will connect to my wrt120n if I unplug the modem and router then plug back in after 2 minutes. if I shut off my PS3 or after approx 1 hour, PS3 drops my connection. I'm trying to access my router page online but after entering the default into my browser, the pop up box will not accept any combo of entries to allow me access. I have an SSID name and my router is password protected. It does not connect me when I use any combo of user name or password or the default "admin".
just set up my EA6500 in bridge mode, i have the Ethernet cable plugged into the EA6500's yellow WAN port, is that correct, Cisco Article ID: 24583 is not that clear, Cannot also seem to access the EA6500's settings to setup security?
I entered some QoS settings and now when I load the QoS page I get this Javascript error message in Firefox.Error: missing ) after argument list Source File: [URL]. Line: 100, Column: 47 Source Code: QosList[0] = new QosEntry('0','3','0','Kathy's Mac','3', infor);
Basically, the Javascript chokes on any computer name that you enter that has an apostrophe in it. As a result, I don't have access to add or edit any settings on that page. Seems like a major rookie mistake, especially for a major network device manufacture.
Everything was working fine. Changed Nothing on the router. Goes out and now wont broadcast a wireless signal, cant manually reset the router, or get into the settings with 192.168.1.1
Currently I am wired through it with my desktop and its working, but not much else.
So I used an Url to acess my router but then, it asked for a username and password. I know I havent messed with it because this is the first time I seen this. I tried leaving the username blank and typing in "admin" for password but nothing worked
I used to have Avanti Satellite broadband but then upgraded to new BET technology with BT which allowed people living very far from their exchange to get up to 2mb phone line broadband. With Avanti, I could access my Buffalo routers settings by just typing in the routers ip.But, now with the new BT Hub we got, whenever I type in ipconfig to cmd, the gateway address is the address to access the settings of the hub. I tried the old bufallo ip but it is not working. I think this is because the hub is a router aswell. Is there anyway I can access the routers settings?
I just say that I'm not brilliant with pcs but I'm able to follow instructions if they are in the consistency of baby food! XD..Well basically I can't access my wireless modem router's settings (2 in 1 device I believe). I managed it once but haven't been able to do it again. I've tried the following:
-Reset router many times. -Turn it on and off many times. -reset router while ethernet cable is connected and without. -ipconfig/release and renew
notthing works!!! I noticed the ip address changed from the default one of 192.168.2.1 to a completely different one...95.175.138.When I turned on my laptop today after being off overnight (and the router) somehow I did managed to get on the settings page again using 192.168.2.1 but didn't last for long. While I did this there was a warning icon next to the wifi icon, but then when the warning sign went off that's when the router's setting page stoped working again.I need to get to the router setting because currently is set to go off when i turn off my laptop which is a bit pointless and change a password.
I am having a problem accessing my router settings page. everything was working fine and then all of a sudden my desktop couldn't get internet but all the laptops could so I tried everything power cycling the everything changing the Ethernet cable and I got nothing. So then I hard reset my router and erased all the settings and now it works so I have internet just fine and right away after I hard reset I could access my router settings page and input all of my settings like DNS servers and port forwarding and changing my SSID etc. but now every time I try and go to it it just won't I don't even get the login prompt nothing. So why I can't access this page. Here is a copy of my ipconfig /all. Also when I ping 192.168.0.1 I have no packet loss.
Edit:I have gotten it to work in IE I have to go to HTTPS://192.168.0.1 and then click go to site anyways after it gives me a warning about the certificate being invalid and I have to allow it or whatever otherwise it won't bring up the login prompt. Also the same thing is happening for FF so I need to go to https://192.168.0.1 and click I understand the risks and add exception for it to work.
me and my co-worker bought an xbox and we can connect online but we have no open NAT. I asked the manager if I could take a look and set it, he said that'd be fine but there's one problem; it's seperated by sheet rock in the cieling. I asked if I could take a look on the lobby PC and try to access it there and he said it'd be fine, he understands that I'm not tampering with anything other than just turning the NAT on, he's been trying to access it himself. I went to the cmd prompt and did ipconfig /all, got the default gateway ip and typed it in, but there are no settings just a display from air2data.I can't reset the router.
My internet has been very sluggish so after reading the thread about Router security and neighbors who might be stealing my internet connection via WIFI, I decided to check what kind of security I had. Turns out I have WPA and no unknown devices were connected at that time. Would like to get an email whenever a NEW device logs in...if that is possible. But while I was in there "futzing around" I did something terribly wrong. I followed all of these steps. Then I noticed that the router speed section had me listed at 145mbps. I had recently changed cable companies to one that provided faster interenet. So I figured I would bump that up to 300 mbps. I can no longer access any of my router settings. What did I do, and how can I undo it?
I am trying to change the name of my wireless network but when I go to the 192.168.1.1 and type in my password, it just goes to a blank screen. I've accessed my router a lot of times before this way. It is a lisksys router.
I bought an Actiontec GT724WGR. I downloaded the latest firmware and went to install it. When it finished, I got the confirmation box and it gave me the click okay to restart option. I clicked okay, and when the router power cycled, the Power light stayed amber. I can't manually reset the setting back to default with the reset button. I can't access the router settings.
I have a wrt54g Linksys router, and recently whenever I type 192.168.1.1 into the internet in order to access the settings/homepage, I get " internet cannot display this webpage"
My computer is an XPS 360 with alot of upgrades. After looking at the specs of D-links routers I thought I give it a try. Hooked up, works like a dream. Couple months later my computer was saying I have "limited connectivity." All of the other computers have full access and works great. I tried going to my routers home page, but all I get is "The server at 192.168.0.1 is taking too long to respond." Ive tried renewing the ipconfig, restarting everything, new cables....everything I can imagine. I tried calling my ISP and they told me it wasnt there fault, that its pretty much on my end. I called Dell for support, said my warranty went out and they cant do a thing.
I was just recently hired in my company, we have an sf300-24p switch but I cant find the console cable for it, I think it needs a female to female db9 serial cable, all I have is a DB9 serial to rj45 console cable for the 2801 router, also I cant find the IP address of the sf300 switch, it is directly connected to the 2801 router, I issued a show arp to the router but didnt find the switch's IP add for web access, to sum it up I have no way of configuring the switch, is there any way to find the IP address of the switch? It also dosnt show on show cdp neighbors?
to enable UPNP on a Virgin Media Super Hub, I have tried using both the IP addresses provided by Virgin media (192.168.0.1 and 192.168.100.1) but regardless of which browser I use the page constantly fails to load.
I have a Buffalo WHR-G125 router which was given to me for free by my ISP for being a loyal client. At home I have a computer, a laptop and a netbook. The router is connected to the computer and I have no trouble accessing the Internet on all three of these devices. I can open pages, download etc.
However: However if I decide to host a server on some game, my friends cannot connect. After doing some research, I found out that certain ports are "closed" (whatever that means) and I need to open them in order for everything to start working again."
Anyway, I checked the infamous site "portforward.com" for instructions on how to open these ports. It was all fine and dandy, until the point where they stated I need to access my router settings page ("default gateway" or whatever, you'll have to excuse my ignorance). I entered "ipconfig" in cmd and it turns out my default gateway is 192.168.1.1. So I entered this in the URL bar of my browser and got a nasty surprise:
"404 Not Found The requested URL was not found"
I am truly stumped. The address is not accessible on neither the computer, nor the laptop or the netbook. I tried some automatic port forwarding software, but it didn't seem to do anything for me.
The only reason for this I can think of is that my ISP is probably blocking the router settings page for some reason (and how unfortunate, I can't even complain, because it's free, after all).
I tried asking on the official Buffalo forums and even tried asking for support and got pretty much the same message: "Try resetting. However, if it's flashed, you can't do anything.".
Not exactly sure what to do right now. My worries:
1.) I'm not even exactly sure how to reset the darn router
2.) I'm scared that reseting won't do a thing and even if it does, I'm not sure I'll be able to reconfigure the entire thing by myself and the worst case scenario, not having internet at all.
Is there any way to access the friggin router settings page?
Earlier today I put in a password for my Belkin_G_Wireless_CC7A57 router. I had to change something, im not sure what it was. it was like WPA or WAP. now it wont let me go to my router settings 192.168.2.1 in the address bar is how i have been getting to it. now it just takes me to a OOPS google chrome cannot open this web page..... I just want to restore the router to it factory default settings. it will let this laptop on and another one in the house but not an older one we have which runs Windows XP. If i can get to my router settings i will be fine..
When I try to go to192.168.1.1 it says connection interrupted. If i use the Cisco Connect it tells me i am not connected to the internet. My pc is connected via ethernet cable. My son can pull it up on is laptop and is connect the our Linksys E3000 wirelessly. I can go online, I just cant get to the router.
have been trying to access 192.168.1.1 TPLINK Model TD-w8950ND configurations to ensure settings are correct and check password etc.
Have been unable to, I used to access it immediately, but for some reason, now I can;t after changing laptops. Not impressed. May have to reset laptop to factory settings as last resort. Don't know.
I have a Belkin Wireless G Router. Whenever I set up a wireless password and network name, within a few hours, the router resets its self to its factory settings. The router will not let me maintain a secure network because of this. How do I make it so that all the settings that I set will stick?
My 7 month old Netgear wireless router suddenly stopped working
The router's power light will not remain on after powering it up. The only lights that remain on after power-up are the (4) "LAN Port" lights (solid green) and the "Internet" light (solid amber).
The owner's manual states that it's a hardware problem if the power light does not remain on and to call tech support. The tech I spoke too said it's a settings issue that they deal with everyday and not a hardware problem.
One of the things I've tried was using a paper clip to reset the router to it's factory settings. It didn't change anything though. Re-running the setup CD didn't yield any results either. It just stopped in the middle because it said there was no ethernet cable connecting the laptop to the router, even though there was.
By the way... My ISP is Century Link and I use an Actiontec DSL Modem.
Not sure how to modify the router's settings if the network is down.
I have a E4200 router v.01 and when i updated the latest firmware (due to security exploit) it seems that whenever i acess the router settings (192.168.1.1) it doesn't ask me nor to input the admin and the password anymore, using wifi or wired.. I want the usual proccess whenever i go to 192.168.1.1 it will ask me to input my admin and password to change my router settings..
I try to change the wmm settings to video, but it's always going back to background settings after saving.I already re-uploaded the firmware, but with no result...I noticed that is a newer firmware available for the WET610n where they solved this issue, but they haven't changed it for the WAP610n....
I've a Shiro DSL805E Modem and to connect to multiple computers, I connected an Encore 5 Port Switch. Now I got laptop and thought of getting a wireless network, so I bought TP-Link TL-MR3420 Wireless Router and connected it to the one of the wires from the Encore Switch. But I'm unable to access the internet through TP-Link Router but the internet works fine for the computers which are directly connected to switch. how to do ip settings for TP-Link Router. But when I connect router directly to modem by bypassing switch, it works fine but not via switch. I have some restrictions due to which I have to strictly following this sort of connection: Modem -Switch - Router
I have recently purchased an asus rt-n66u dual band gigabit router. What are the best settings for wireless gaming? The wireless adaptor I'm using is an asus usb-n53 dual band. Do I need to set it for auto mode or n only? and 20 or 40 mhz or 20/40 combined? do I need aes/tkip encryption or just aes?
