I cannot seem to get the Wireless up and running, i have flicked the switch and but nothing happens, no light. I am computer illiterate when it comes to technical computer problems. What should i do? I can plug my yellow cable in and get the net but no wireless when i take it out. He has also given a Belkin G USB wireless adaptor.

Now we need to configure new Vlan for finance department this department has more than 200 users. If my server distributes 192.168.200.0 range ip can vlan2 automatically assign ip 200.0 addresses to finance department.All switches running default config no ip address assigned.

I would like to pre-stage and configure the new box with the existing config, migrate license and export certificate files before swapping it with the old one during a change window. The new firewall will run 9.1 on deployment. Now the same 7.2(4) cannot just be copied over to 5525X running the minimum 8.6 version. There is a Web based tool available at [URL] according to Cisco documentation but the page does not load for me (Cisco intranet only tool ?). Is there another tool for automatic conversion ?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI hardly try to get WDS running with two WRVS4400N v2.The manual (and the web interface) says: "Note: The WDS feature allows WRVS4400N to connect with up to 3 wireless repeaters that can be either WRVS4400N or WAP200." But I wasn't successful by now in getting it working..What I've done so far:
- Setup the primary WRVS as Gateway, WAN through Modem, LAN and WLAN using WPA2 Personal Mixed, DHCP
- works perfect
- Setup the second WRVS as Router using the same WLAN settings, no WAN and no DHCP
- Enabling WDS on both WRVS, giving each the MAC address of the other
- no connection to LAN or WAN through the second WRVS
I really need the second WRVS act like a bridge. Since the manual is saying that I can connect both devices through WDS I bought two of them. On the other hand I've now read somewhere in the community, that this isn't possible with two WRVS (?)
I am running Ubuntu 10.10 on a Dell Inspiron 6400.I am able to get 10/100 Ethernet card and Wireless Lan working independently. If I restart/reboot my eth0 turns starts up fine.If I then manually start my wireless connection (eth1), eth0 disappears.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've come across an older IBM ThinkPad 2687 via work that was just collecting dust, and it was able to connect to a wireless network.Due to other issues with the machine, I had to do a complete refresh on it, so it only had the XP OS.
I had to update the drivers to make sure other things like connecting to a flash drive, and connecting to a local area was possible, which is how I'm able to connect now.However, I've been unable to access the wireless connection within Network connections. I've downloaded the different drivers from the Lenovo IBM ThinkPad website, but still no luck.
I was online then all of a sudden i got disconnected and now it won't show any network available. My other laptop and xboxes are online just fine, so I know then it's an issue with my one laptop. But I don't know how to fix it. No networks are found at all and internet only works when it's wired. I have a HP laptop running windows 7.How do I get my network to show up so I can have wirless internet again? Someone thought maybe new drivers but no clue what I really need to download. I only know basics of computer stuff.

My wife and daughters computers, which are wireless, see now slowdown. My computer is connected to the router thru the ethernet connection. The previous computer using win xp - 32, plugged into the same router had no unusual speed problems. I did turn off the windows 7 firewall. Did no good.Could there be some incompatibility between the router and win 7 - 64?? Are there some settings that need changing?

It also has a "excellent" connection when connected wirelessly but slows down to 50Kbps.I have restarted/started, reset(all multiple times). I contacted ASUS customer support they told me bad router or firmware update. I updated firmware same thing took the router back and exchanged router. Same problem. I then went into router settings and changed from "Auto" to channel,1,2,3,4,etc. No luck. My buddy that is a "Tech expert" says that since I live in high density(12 unit) apt building someone has something interfering.My only problem with that is I used to live in a 48 unit building with wi fi supplied by the building and never had this problem.

But as soon as my room mates laptop gets connected to the same network my ping gives me output that "Request timed out".

Anyway, it seems my router is running two... networks? I've reset my router, set up my wireless network, configure the SSID name, password lock it, but there still appears to be a "Linksys" network running with no password. I'm afraid it's being used by someone else, seeing as it's free wifi. I've reset my router a couple times and set up my wifi and this linksys still appears to be running. The reason why I feel it's mine is because one night our net went out and when my brother attempted to log onto the linksys, its net wasn't working either. When our net came back up, the linksys was running with working net once more. It seems like too much coincidence to not be true. I'm really not sure what is causing this and I've never experienced this before.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased an EA6500 router on March 1 2013 – since then my wireless network has became very unreliable. The network runs fine for a short period of time then it gets extremely slow. I constantly have to reboot the router to see better performance. When I run the built-in router speed check, it shows that I am getting 20 Mbps for downloads which is what I expected to see and then as time goes on, the speed goes as slow as 1 Mbps for downloads. I finally had to go back to my very old Linksys WRT54GS router to have a stable network again. I called Linksys customer support and they want to charge me a fee to diagnose the router that will only be refundable if they find any issues. I find it completely unacceptable to have to spend more money for an item that is only a month old that will probably show no issues when they run their diagnoses since they had me reboot the router while I was on the phone with them. I want to warn others not buy this router especially when the company cannot stand behind their product that is only 34 days old!

My Windows 7 desktop is hardwired to the router while my wife's Vista computer is connected wirelessly.I recently had to reset the router. When I tried to change the router's password from the familiar "Admin" to a WEP code, the change was never made, although I clicked on "save settings". This has been a persistant problem. I solved this by clicking on "Administration>Management" and entering my own code, however, this has never been necessary before.I am also getting inconsistant "DNS errors". It appears erroneous addresses are being generated.I've downloaded and installed updated firmware.This Linksys router uses WEP security.

BUT, when I have to FTP from my pc to our web server wich is at a typical web hosting company, now we are having time out issues, stalls, an closed sessions.Our server company checked everything and all is clear. I can FTP from outside my office (home) with no issuies at all. So this leads to the E3000 causing the issue. Simply everythign worked on Thursday, we installed on Friday and now we have the issue.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI have 16 1552's, and one of them is running very slow when my deputies are trying to upload their shift videos.I am usign acentral Vlan in the controller with all configuration settings.I also using the same configuration in all APs.
In this particular AP I am noticed that the upload traffic is about 100 mgs per minutes, YES per minute. While I should be getting somewhere in the range of 300 mbps, I am only getting about 7 or 8 mbps.I have checked all settings that I can think off but can't find the issue.
I have 2x WLC 5508 running version 7.2. 1st one is setup and running. My questions is: If I want to setup Active-Passive redundancy, do I need to manually setup the 2nd one exactly as the 1st one and put them in the same group? Or is it a way to copy all of the configs I made on the 1st one over to the 2nd one?

2) Before with my previous router (netgear) I didn't see my router in Device Manager. Now its under Network Infrastructure Devices. It lists the name of my router, under that it lists Microsoft Wireless Router Module??
3) Before with my previous adapter (belkin) I would see my Network Adapter in Device Manager. I see my network adapter listed, under that Realtek PCI (LAN), but now there is another new device? Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniadapter??
Why are these Microsoft devices showing in Device Manager? Did they not get installed correctly?

The legacy APs are connected to the WLC on the older code to support older hardware. The new WLC is accepting all the new 3600 APs. using a Cisco 5508 controller (code version 7.4.100.0) with an ACS appliance running version 4.1 or 4.2?I've found that the ACS constantly reports a 'Bad request from NAS' (Invalid message authenticator in EAP request). message. This usually indicates a mismatched shared secret but this isn't the case.The controller works fine opposite a Microsoft NPS Radius Server.
