Nov 3, 2011I recently ordered and received Cisco Catalyst 3560-CG Series 8-port PoE switches (ws-C3560CG-8PC-S). In running the Cisco Network Assistant (Version 5.6(3)) they show up as an unsupported device. The documentation for this product indicates that you can use CNA to configure this switch. Is there a download or patch available to correct this problem?

May 14, 2012I seem to have managed to set a 2960 to 230400 baud in the boot loader. Is there anyway to reset the variables in the boot loader? Maybe a set of pins to short? I can't access the console port reguardless of what I set the rate too. I've tried both the USB console cable and a USB to serial. Is there anything I can do short of an RMA?

Apr 7, 2011I have a 2811 with 512 of memory installed (two by 256). The router has been sitting spare for sometime and I know there was once a memory problem with it long ago. It has two 256M Non ECC DIMMs installed and seems to work fine. I recently tried to install a 512M DIMM ECC and all I get is 'Unsupported DIMM" error - same if I remove the other 256M DIMM leaving just the 512M. I have tried three different DIMMs - and all have the same error message. One of the DIMMs is 'cisco supported' and based on what I can find in the web - seems to be the correct spec. I have also tried non ECC 512 DIMM and 'unsupported DIMM" error message is still coming up. If I did not know better, I would say that there was something that needed changing in the config to allow 512M DIMMs to be installed.

But the emails in questions are just a few kB. So what is going wrong. This is especially disturbing because the users don't get a notification that the email has not been delivered.

We reloaded router Friday eve 1/15 but two more %SIP-3-UNSUPPORTED: Unsupported ptime value messages re-appeared on 1/18. The router in question is a 3745 running c3745-a3jk9s-mz.123-14.t7.bin. This router does have one interface facing an ISP.

Both building have the same network setup. 2 Core Switches 4506-E Chassis having glbp for layer 3 redundency on about 20 vlan in each building with default intervlan routing in place.Below is a simple sketch of how these are connected. Blue lines are still not connected...
What I need is to setup routing onto the blue fibre links so that networks from building 1 can reach networks on building to and vias versa. I would also need to implement some sort of redundency since I have to fibre links between the 2 building.

These devices are discovered, reachable, SNMP works fine, neighbors seen. But when we try to launch acquisition, the UT utility complains with this error message:"Failed to start acquisition: Device unreachable. Please enter a valid device."When we wanted to add ports via Device Trap Configuration, LMS has fired a different error message: "There are no ports to configure for the selected device(s).Check whether you have selected any router(s)." But i dont understand the Certification of ACS 4.2.
I generated a Self-Signed Certificate. Is this right ? and under installed Certificates the Certificate Status is okay.
Do i have to create for each windows Machine one user Account under user-Setup to authenticate the Machine?
Where do Windows Xp know whitch Certificate he have to take ?

Cisco WAN :: High CPU Utilization In 4506 Switch?
Sep 6, 2011I am getting High CPU utilization in one of my switch which has many layer 3 vlan interface and many other routing interface.In the o/p of show process cpu i get 64 % CPU utilization. The o/p is as below

I amy trying to come up with a plan to upgrade the switches to IOS but I dont know if they will take it or not. Linksys Wired Router :: BEFSR81 / Add Device Names To DHCP Device Table?
Nov 30, 2011My BEFSR81 is my primary router and has DHCP turned on. The router's DHCP range is set to accommodate 12 devices. I have three computers wired to it and their Host names (as specified in the set-up of each computer) show up in the router's DHCP device table. I also have two printers (one old Brother HL5250DN laser printer and one new HP Photosmart Premier C410a inkjet printer) connected and there are blanks where the Host name should go. I would like to be able to tell which printer is which when I am looking at the DHCP device table. How can I get a names associated with each printer's IP address in the router's DHCP device table? (The real problem is that the router seems to have both printers at the same IP address (192.168.1.100) and if I can get one of them to change I'd like to know which one it was!)

Cisco Switching/Routing :: PXE Failing With DHCP On 4506?
Jun 11, 2012We are attempting to PXE boot from clients obtaining their DHCP lease information from DHCP pools configured on our 4506. The PXE server, and the client are configured in separate VLANs. We have configured option 66 to point to the PXE server IP address, and the bootfile option to point to the PXE boot configuration filename. On the client side SVI, we also have configured the ip helper-address command to point to the PXE server (which also acts as another DHCP server for redundancy).
The PXE boot continuously fails stating it is unable to find the configuration file. If we remove the DHCP pool from the 4506, and allow the client to receive their DHCP lease info from the secondary server (Windows 2k8 - same server as PXE server), they PXE boot with no issues.
We have no problem obtaining DHCP info, just completion of the PXE process.

Apr 7, 2012Yesterday I've faced a Problem that is not letting me boot with the new IOS.
Actually I'm planning upgrade IOS which supports SSH. As part of plan I've downloaded the new IOS image and uploaded via TFTP server to the switch.
After uploading to the switch. I've verified image and MD5 hash also. Everthing is fine. Then after I set the boot variable for the newly uploaded Image.
When I'm rebooting the Device it is not taking the new IOS. It's booting with the OLD image. Even It's not showing any error message while rebooting (ACTIVITY FILE ATTACHED FOR YOUR REFERENCE) I can't take risk by deleting the old IOS.
