We migrated to LMS4.2 and i created new credential set and set it as the default. However, the new cdredential set applies only to newly added devices no to the migrated devices. for example when i run device credential verfication for a migrated device, the username used my LMS is "cwuser" as opposed to the one i created with the new credential sets. how can i make this new credentila set be applicable to all devices?
When I try to connect to our domain I get the error message:Changing the Primary Domain DNS name of this computer to "" failed. The name will remain "(name of our domain)" The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted. The procedure is the same I've used since Hector was a pup and never had a problem. I can't add users to the domain and can't log on directly to the domain.
I inherited a Ciscoworks installation, and would like to create a credential set for a certain class of device. However, after searching around the interface and documentation, I cannot find instructions on how to add a credential set with certain snmp, ssh, credentials. We use ACS authentication and authorization?
when running Credential Verification Report, I get following notification: "None of the devices have credential verification data".I have made different Default Device Credential sets that I'm using when I add devices to LMS. I could not see wether this is bug in LMS 4.1 or if I have to do this a different way?
i get for all devices telnet credential failed in my credential verification report. I exported the device from the Device Manager into a csv file to verify the correct passwords. The export shows the correct values in
I have a problem with my AnyConnect clients connecting to an AD network via a 5510. Anyconnect VPN clients provide AD plus a one time passcode to authenticate to the 5510. This works fine apart from 3 things:
1. Once the VPN session has been established the user is further prompted for AD credentials when accessing an AD share for the first time. Once they provide the credentials the share can be accessed. Should the AD credentials not be passed through when the VPN connection is established? Or is this by design? What makes me think it's not be design is the fact that this could be related to problem 2.
2. Group Policy Update (windows gpupdate) fails. This again suggests to me that the full client/server relationship is not fully in tact.
3. In order to get Outlook to connect to exchange I've had to change Outlooks security settings from Negotiate (which would naturally choose Keberors), to NTLM. Not sure if this is related or not.
Note: DNS is functioning with out any problems
Maybe the first 2 issues are by design, but I thought the whole idea behind the AnyConnect VPN was that the remote machine would function as if connected to the LAN?
I recently installed and configured the Prime LMS 4.1 Soft Appliance. After discovering the devices on the network I ran a credential verification check on everything. All of my devices passed accept for the Nexus 7010s and Nexus 5020s -- these show up in the failed device report with a BLANK value for SSH and "Did Not Try" under Enable by SSH. I have verified SSH is enabled and accessible outside of Prime, and that there are no access lists preventing access. All other tests pass for these devices.
I've also visited the troubleshooting workflow section for these devices, and when I test the connectivity, SSHv2 passes.
I've downloaded all of the updates available for the device packages and have tried other credentials. All other aspects seem to be working properly.
I have a case for an LMS 4.0 running in a Live environement (With devices already discovered and organized into seperate groups), where the Device Credential and repository DCR is showing suddenly as empty and only i can see the groups listed, but without any devices in them (Through Inventory > Device Administration > Add/Import/Manage Devices). After a restart of the whole LMS server a few weeks ago, the problem was fixed and the devices appeared again, but now the same issue re-appeared.
I'm having issue with 881W router. this router doesnt let me logon to it after I restart the router and enter correct credentials. after being at the router - it doesn't let me logon to its AP module even after adding correct credentials. I've changed 2 routers so far but see same issue.
try to setup up credentials using: username <username> privilege 15 secret 0 <password> or username <username> priviledge 15 password 0 <password>
Cant find the speeking result/cause of 4 and 1 in the example below, that are defined as enums in the MIBs normaly. Where can I access the result of "snmptranslate -M<MIB-dirs> -m ALL -Td <ps-status/test-oid>" if this is implemented in LMS overall? What are the OIDs from Cisco's ps-status/test, if the translation of MIB-enums is not implented?

With lms 3.2 during installation we can choose what to install i.e. not install DFM or IPM. How can we do this in the new release 4.0 of the LMS bundle. I saw no options for it during installation of the new server.
Cisco release the Cisco Prime LMS 4.1 on Aug. 2011. I download the lms4.1 from cisco and install it, but the lms4.1's evaluation license expire date is Oct. 28 2009. So my license already expired after I install the LMS4.1.
I would like to upgrade LMS4.2 to PI1.2. According to Cisco this is a minor upgrade (requires the SAS code) and can be downloaded from the Cisco portal for free. My question: Can I still reuse the license and the B2B cisco support I use for my LMS4.2 ?
I will also upgrade WCS7.0.x to PI1.2. Will there finally be 1 server running 1 merged software, or will there be 2 servers one for WCS >> PI and one for LMS >> PI ?
i tried to restore backup from LMS3.2.1(windows) to LMS4.2 virtual appliance. once the back up is completed, the home page takes forever to load. i opened TAC case, and the only way out seems to be configuring from scratch after importing the devices. i, imported the devices and this didn't cause any problem. But, making the configuration from scratch is something i would like to avoid if possible.
In our organisation we have multiple Nexus 5000 switches, which Cisco LMS 4.2.2 cannot get the running-config and startup-config from with the Archive Management process. When it does try to get them, I get a error as follows:
*** Device Details for SF-DERA-01 *** Protocol ==> Unknown / Not Applicable Selected Protocols with order ==> TFTP,SSH,SCP
I reinstalled CiscoWorks LMS (Windows 2008 R2) updated th LMS with all availible devicepackages and imported all devices with a xml bulk import of the former installation. Now I am frustrated.... because after the reinstallation LMS has problems collecting the inventory data. The inventory collection for one local device (Cisco WS-C3560-8PC-S) starts and nevers stops.... I have to stop the ICserver to stop the inventory collection.
I have only 4 of nearly 1800 devices where it was possible to collect the inventory information. All the rest is supposed to unreacheable...Reports> Inventory>Management Status>Unreachable Devices. But if I take one of the devices which is reported to be unreacheable and do a device diagnostic (Monitor> Troubleshooting Tools> Troubleshooting Workflows) says it is reacheable...
The inventory does not appear in the "Collector Status"?
in LMS3.2.1 we have NMSRoot/log/syslog.log where syslogs are being logged actively from managed devices. i couldn't find the same in LMS4.2. I am configuring LMS4.2 from scratch and in the hope of making the trasition from old LMS3.2.1 to LMS 4.2, I am planning assigning the old LMSs IP to the new one. basically changing the IP address of LMS4.2.
I have a very special usecase with migrating devices from LMSv2.6 to v4.1 using DCR bulk import that was maintained manualy, not by discovering. The special thing is each device has its own SNMP-community and its about 1500 devices.RME discovery works fine, but I get the devices not discovered by DCR (CSDiscovery), because I need a minimal DCR discovery configration containing Seed and SNMP-settings. So I activated DCR as seed, but cant skip SNMP settings without an entry. But in this case I would need 1500 SNMP-lines that would be very unhandy. is in CSDiscovery-Settings a possibility to can leave SNMP settings untouched so it takes the credentials from the DCR, to can start DCR discovery?
I am having a strange issue deploying universalk9-150-2.SE2 to our 2960S. All the switches are stand alones.LMS gives an error when asking to upgrade the image but the fact is that the new software wents through - if I manually reload the switch everything is fine.why is RME showing an error if the new image seems to have been deployed?
I have installed Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.2 separately from LMS4.2. LMS4.2 is in production. I just want to run PI1.2 in parallel with LMS4.2 before migrating to PI1.2. Currently I have LifeCycle permanent license. Why don't I have the assurance lfeature set license. it is running in evaluation mode.
I’m stuck in some problem with installation of LMS4.0 in customer site.
- we purchase a LMS4.0(CWLMS-4.0-100-K9) but couldn’t install it on Windows server 2008 R2 64bit because those things don’t support each other. - I need to upgrade the LMS4.0 to LMS4.2 that is supporting Windows server 2008 R2 64bit. - So, I ordered following items via product update tool (url...) [code]
- In this status, how to install LMS4.2 with license for 100 devices? If I install R-PI12-BASE-K9 first, can i enter a licese for 100 devices for CWLMS-4.0-100-K9 into PI1.2?
My primary DNS all of a sudden "disconnected" itself. I have tried flushing DNS and powering off the modem and turning it back on again after 10 seconds. It seems that these methods are not working.
How can you figure out your primary and secondary DNS? I have a linksys router, and i'm trying to figure out what my primary and secondary DNS are so i can hook up my PS3 online.
Recently i changed internet service provider and i went up to a 24 Mbps line, though i can only reach a 8 Mbps service due to my location.
The problem is that surfing the internet has gone all kinds of wrong. Every page takes at least 20 secs to open and the response to online games has the same, or even more, delay. Checking my emails also takes quite some time.I tried connecting through the ethernet cable & the wireless connection(not at the same time). I even tried making a static ip. Same results, i can't seem to browse.
I recently set up our new Cisco Linksys E1000 router (we originally had a Belkin, but it is dying). It works perfectly fine on my desktop. However, there is only a "local connection" on my mom's laptop, a Toshiba Satellite running Vista. Diagnosis: Cannot Communicate with Primary DNS Server (68.105.28.12). I've read a bunch of other posts on many websites but so far nothing has worked.
I had my broadband installed and activated and I'm using my laptop with vista I've used it before with wireless Broadband and was fine but now I'm having trouble using the Internet, wifi is on and it is showing as connected to the router but when I open the web browser it is unable to connect, I used diagnostics and it comes up with the following:Cannot communicate with primary DNS server 194.168.4.100
I've tried many things posted in this forum to resolve this issue but to no avail. My computer will connect to the local network but not to the Internet and when clicking diagnose and repair it says it cannot communicate with primary DNS server (85.255.112.151)
my partner cannot connect to the internet on her computer. I have tried disabling the ipv6, typing in oranges dns server in the ipv4,and attempted to find the dns automatically. I tried running the ipconfig, but it flashes up for a second then goes off before I can look at it. As mentioned I am with Orange, I contacted them and they wanted to run the computer through an ethernet cable and reset everything which I think is a pain in the backside and I know it should be a bit simpler than that.
Problem: No internet connection. 'Can't communicate with primary DNS server'Information: I am using a Windows 7 64 laptop (LAN connection) to connect to the internet. Two days ago this stopped working (after working fine for 3 months). Using windows troubleshoot I receive the message 'Can't communicate with primary DNS server'. I have checked the IPv4 and IPv6 and they are all set to automatic.I then tried to reset this using Microsoft 'fix it solution' as indicated Can't communicate with Primary DNS Server this still had no luck.I have also tried,
Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog
Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log
Reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log
and ipconfig/ release and ipconfig/ renew none of this has made any difference. I can successfully ping the default gateway but cannot ping google. All packets time out.Additional information: Using an older laptop I am able to successfully connect to the internet on the same line. Also the laptop that is not working does work fine at work. So I don't even know if the problem is with the hub or the laptop.
My wireless connection showed connected but Internet Explorer kept showing the page cannot be displaced. When I clicked the diagnose connection problems, the message kept coming back with "Cannot communicate with primary DNS server (65.32.5.111)".
