I have Cisco 2600 series Router which has only 32 MB flash memory. I tried to load IOS image in that but image size is 29 Mb in compressed form. The minimum i found is 5 MB in compressed form but it is missing so many commands. that in 32 MB flash, how can I load image which has almost all the commands.

And if i tried to download again the file, its failing because it seems that there aren't any space available in my flash. Here is the mem info.

Here's what i think. The first file download could be corrupted and it eats up the space on my flash. My question is how can I reformat the flash so that I can re download the IOS? And if in case that fails also, any other way i can recover this machine.
I have two Routers (C1812 & C1841) each having different version of IOS images. I was wondering if its possible to copy IOS image from flash of one Router and use it to upgrade another.

I have a cisco 2821 router configured as a CME version 7.1. Now I want to upgrade the IOS to version 15 to get a CME version 8.6 but I faced a problem that the flash of the 2821 is 64MB and the IOS version 15 required flash 128MB. I tried to replace this flash with another 128MB installed on Cisco 2811 router but when I installed the 128MB flash on the 2821 CME the 2821 didn't boot from it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchased a used AIR BR1310G-A--K9-R from a local high school that was rebuilding their athletic field. The AP was used for communications for their pressbox staff. The AIR BR1310G was part of the schools campus wide WiFi network and was upgraded to an lwapp image c1310-k9w8-m 12.4 3c JA. Our home sits on a large lot and I would like to convert the BR1310G back to an autonomous AP.
In order convert it back to an automonous AP, I will need the original image. The school used a contractor for their WiFi network and they do not have a backup of the original image. I do not have a service account with Cisco so downloading the autonomous image from the Cisco website is out. What are my options for either obtaining an image file or using the current managed image without a WLC?
I have a PIX 501 and I am looking to download an OS as my current image is corrupt and the PIX will not boot. Where I can download the O/S from so I can tftp it across to the router.

The router boots into Rommon every time and the Rommon options for this router are horrible. No tftpdnld option. Can I get this router to boot from tftp, from Rommon?
I have an ASA 5520, currently running version 7.25-k8. I'm preparing for an upgrade to version 7.25(4), so I transferred the software code (obtained via Cisco download) to the firewall vis SCP. I then issued the "verify flash:asa725-k8.bin" and it fails. It comes back with the error that the CRC did not verify, Data Integrity has been compromised". My first thought was the image did not copy correctly, so I deleted it and transferred it again. I got the same error. Then I decided to run a verify against the actual current code that was running on the firewall, and it came back with the same error. I don't understand what the problem is. I don't tend to think it's an SSH key related problem, as the method I use to access the firewall is via SSH and I have no problems. Worth noting,this firewall is part of an active/standby pair, and I observe the same behavior on the failover unit, it fails to verify.

I need a way to validate the checksum of the new image after it is copied to flash. Remote upgrades become a real pain when you have to go onside just to delete an image, copy it into flash again, and boot.

I only have one machine with a serial port and whenever I try to connect to a router (I've tried multiple purchased from different sources) nothing happens on the screen. If I wait for a couple of seconds and hit enter I get the response shown on the screen in the screenshot I have inserted. If this image is too small I have also attached. looks like it has already asked me this but I am unable to see it. Shouldn't I see some information when I attempt to connect, some acknowledgement that I have connected? I have tried using both hyperterminal anbd PuTTy.

i have an ASA 5510. it was running asa708-k8.bin and i have attempted to install asa821-k8.bin. i have done this on many ASAs before effortlessly.this time i have had an issue. the ASA will not load the new image, and for some reason will not even load the old.the ASA seems to just keep crashing. i have erased disk0 (advised in forum): and attempted to load the image from tftp. please see below. i know i need to re-formaet the flash, but cannot get into the ASA at all to complete this. View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to load a spare compact flash with a running-config, ASA IOS, & ASDM software via card reader? I need to load another flash card with all of the settings necessary for normal operation. This "spare" card will replace the flash that is currently in use. The reason for the replacement is capacity and because of changes made to the running-config. The "in-use" card is 256MB, the "spare" one is 512MB. Also, the new card will have a few changes made to the running-config, so it will, in essence, be a reload.
I have a card reader for the compact flash cards. If there is a way to load up this new card using the card reader, without monkeying with the firewall, I would prefer that. Like I said in the previous paragraph, this new flash card will replace the other one, once it's ready.

The problem is, the switch doesn't load flash, or will copy flash from xmodem either. It also doesnt load the helper or boot. It is user mode and lets me do nothing. since it wasn't booting up, I did format flash again and thought to load image again from tftp server but now, it doesn't load image from tftp server.

View 4 Replies View RelatedCustomer site connected to a PE using 2 x E1 circuits aggregated using Multilink PPP. The CE is a 1760, and the PE is a 7206. This is the customer HQ site.
Connected to the same PE are three other sites from the same customer. Each is connected with a single E1, again each CE is a 1760.
During some testing the customer did some large file transfers concurrently from each of the three remote sites into the HQ, so we had data coming into the PE via the three E1's (6Mbps) and then being routed onto the 4 Mbps Multilink PPP interface into the HQ, which is a potential bottleneck. This test failed miserably with packets being dropped on the output interface on the PE facing the HQ.
But then if Multilink PPP encap is removed, and we just connect the HQ using one E1 with HDLC encapsulation, the test works, even though we have half the bandwidth to the HQ, so an even greater potential bottleneck.
Trying to copy the system image file from the sup-bootflash to a new 64MB ATA flash card. Yes the software can support the 64MB card.
The ATA flash card was formated successfully, however I cannot copy the system image to it so that it can boot after a power loss.
The command I tried was: console(enabled) copy sup-bootflash: slot0:
The source filename was typed in as shown in the Show Verison command.The result was: Error opening slot0: no such device.I suspect that I am missing something obvious as I am new to Cisco Switches.
