My client is having a 5505 which supports 2 SSL peers as per now and we want an upgrade . I had a look into GPL and I was confused with two of the following part numbers . Which one should I go for as both of these look same for me and there is a huge difference in price .
I have a Cisco ASA 5505 device with basic (default) license, currently all my reirections, VPN's, VLAN's(3 Vlan's) etc are configured on the same and are working fine. Now i need to upgrade my basic license to "Security Plus" for some additional features, if i upgrade it directley is there any complications in present rules, below is my doubhts
1. if i upgrade, did it change any of my present configurations ? 2. is there any name change or property changes for VLAN's or VPN's 3. did it affect the firewall functions 4. If anything goes wrong, can i restore it in to my old state using my previous dump.
We want to upgrade one of our Cisco 5505 with Security Plus license. what is the difference between L-ASA5505-SEC-PL and ASA5505-SEC-PL upgrade licenses?
We are currently preforming the upgrade from WCS v.7.0.230.0 no NCS 1.1. When we select the Lic file we get an error message "Unable to add any license without an NCS (L-NCS-1.0-K9) license." The file name is WCSUPG20121115142018448.lic.
I have a two ASA HA and I'd like to upgrade the license to ASA5500-SSL-250. I need to know if i have to purchase one license (ASA5500-SSL-250) for the Active unit and one license (ASA5500-SSL-250) for the standby unit.
I want to confirm if the upgrade license (ASA5505-SW-10-UL=) is backward compactible with PIX 501 firewall device? though pix 501is end of life bit i want to verify if the upgrade license for asa5505 will work with it?
I have a Cisco 1921 ISR Router with Security License running software version 15.0. I want to upgrade the router to 15.1. But I don't want to lose the security license that came with the router. When I look at the IOS downloads page on Cisco, all I see is universal images for all versions of 15.1.
My question is - where is the security license stored? In the IOS or programmed in somewhere else of the router? If I upgrade my router to one of the newer 15.1 universal images, will I lose my security license?
We face following situation: Currently LMS 3.2 is installed. We order a 3.x to 4.0.1 upgrade license, in the meantime 4.1 is launched. So, we ordered the free of charge 4.0 to 4.1 minor upgrade license. Now we have a 3.x to 4.0 upgrade license and the 4.0 to 4.1 minor upgrade license and don't know how to proceed.
Is it now possible to install 4.1 from scratch directly and use the 4.0 to 4.1 upgrade license to register it? Of course we want to avoid to install 4.0 as an extra step...
5508 W LAN controller with 50 AP License upgrade from 7.0.220 to 7.4 is it will effect to the license and configuration? Because the license came pre- installed.
I am having an issue where I can't connect to VPN after upgrading the license. The license upgraded is related to AnyConnect VPN. I noticed from the newly upgraded license, the Encryption-3DES-AES is disabled whereas previously it was enabled.
I'm trying to upgrade an asr1001 (r1) from asr1001-universal.03.02.00.S.151-1.S.bin to asr1001-universalk9.03.02.00.S.151-1.S.bin. i've put in the boot system flash asr1001-universalk9.03.02.00.S.151-1.S.bin command and reloaded but the box keeps loading first image the configuration register is 0x2102. i've tried the license module command to enable adv enterprise but it made no difference so i removed it again. my license is now;

I´m trying to upgrade a Customer's ASA 5505 base license from 10 to 50 users (ASA5505-SW-10-50=). But the reseller sent a ASA5505-SW-50-UL= license instead. I tried to register that license and the following messaged appeared.
Wrong Sku(s) 'ASA5505-SW-50-UL=' for 'ASA5505-K8' : Device contains following licenses 'ASA5505-SW-10,ASA5500-ENCR-K9' Serial Number = JMX1235Z0TZ
same platform type as the failed serial number. An upgrade request is not allowed. open a Service Request using the TAC Service Request Tool at [URL].As an alternative you may also call our main Technical Assistance Center at 800-553-2447.Sincerely,Cisco Systems Licensing.
I tried to contact TAC for assistance but It's not possible because that kind of service is outside the parameters of the service contracts associated with my cisco.com profile.
We are planning to upgrade the ASA license in an A/S pair by adding the ASA5500-SC-20= license. The ASA is 5545 and runs 8.6. According to documentation, after 8.3 version, the ASAs can share a license features and do not require the same license on both boxes. I run a test in GNS3 with 8.4(2) images and I saw that by adding the 'activation-key' command only on the primary unit did the job as the 'show activation-key' output shows. In order to be 100% sure would like to verify the following:
Putting the activation-key only on the primary unit is enough and there is no need to do anything elseIn case the primary unit is standby, again we have to put the actication-key command on the primary unit (I am asking this because the 'activation-key' command is not listed under the commands that are not replicated to the other unitk, but doesn't make sense to be replicated since the activation-key is 'tied' with the S/N of the device).
I'm planning to upgrade Cisco ASA 8.2 to an anyconnect essentials and mobile license. Are there any concerns with some users continuing to utilize the cisco vpn IPSEC client while others migrate to the Anyconnect? I just want to make sure when I upgrade the license that there will not be an immediate requirment to have all users switch to Anyconnect immediately.
I have two 3750x in a stack running c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-55.SE3.bin with License Level: ipservices?I am planning to upgrade to c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-58.SE2.bin will this keep my ipservices licence or revert back to IPbase
I recently added a 3750X-24P-L into a stack of 3750V2 switches. I did so by getting the temporary upgrade license from LAN Base to IP Services; I added the switch no problem. I now have the permanent license and I was wondering if I could install the permanent license without having to remove the switch from the stack. I tried a license install but that failed. The switch is not currently the master but I figured I might promote it and then try the install.
I'm new to ASA and bought a used one from ebay but I cannot connect to the ASDM - I get an error in all the browsers.
Cannot communicate securely with peer: no common encryption algorithm(s).

Having browsed the support forums and Google - it seems I need the 3DES license. I have obtained an activation key from Cisco and applied it to my ASA 5505 however I get a warning about the device is licensed for a higher software level. the license on the ASA is Security plus. When I apply the activation key from Cisco most of the features are disabled.

I have a customer who accedentally got a AIR-LAP-1141. He needs it to be autonomous. If I convert from LWAP to Autonomous, will there be a licensing issue?
We purchased an ASA 5505 (ASA5505-BUN-K9) and more recently purchased the license to upgrade it from 10 to 50 users (L-ASA5505-10-50). I would like to provide remote access to users via AnyConnect - specifically, AnyConnnect on Windows plus the iPhone/iPad and Android versions. My understanding is that I should purchase the Anyconnect Essentials (L-ASA-AC-E-5505) and Anyconnect Mobile (L-ASA-AC-M-5505) licenses. Is this correct? If I do this, how many simultaneous remote access VPN connections (via Anyconnect clients) will the ASA then support?
Further, we did not initially purchase Smartnet with this device, but I would like to do so to gain access to software updates. Is there a site or document where I can locate the SKU #'s for Smartnet contracts that would be appropriate with our device?
The output of "show version" is below:

I've purchased a used ASA 5505 device. Upon reseting and looking at the startup, I see that it is unable to retrieve Activation License and used default. Activation License shows as all zeros.
Is there a way to find whatever Activation License is tied to my device from Cisco without a service contract ? or I have to live with the default ?
I am planning to setup Clientless Web VPN on our ASA 5505 for secure access to a internal web resource from outside. When I checked the licensing details on the ASA using #sh ver I could notice thar Web VPN peers allowed is only 2 Does this mean that only two clientless simoultaneous connections are possible ?
Licensed features for this platform: Maximum Physical Interfaces : 8 VLANs : 3, DMZ Restricted
One of our clients has recently purchased upgrade licenses for their cisco asa as follows
L-ASA5505-10-50= and L-ASA5505-SEC-PL=
after retrieving the activation key from the cisco website we tried entering the activation key to the asa both via ASDM and telnet when entering the command on telnet the shell becomes unresponsive when entering the command on ASDM we receive a "success" message followed by a request to restart ASDM and save the configuration after a minute or so i get an error screen saying "write mem" the asdm restarts and nothing changes.
