Mar 12, 2013I have a cisco router 1941 and i have uploaded before evaluation license , now i have already bought cisco security license .I have already installed on cisco router , but the problem the router is still using the evaluation license not the new license .

Cisco WAN :: 1921 - IOS Upgrade With Security License?
Nov 4, 2011I have a Cisco 1921 ISR Router with Security License running software version 15.0. I want to upgrade the router to 15.1. But I don't want to lose the security license that came with the router. When I look at the IOS downloads page on Cisco, all I see is universal images for all versions of 15.1.
My question is - where is the security license stored? In the IOS or programmed in somewhere else of the router? If I upgrade my router to one of the newer 15.1 universal images, will I lose my security license?

Feb 4, 2013We are planning to upgrade the ASA license in an A/S pair by adding the ASA5500-SC-20= license. The ASA is 5545 and runs 8.6. According to documentation, after 8.3 version, the ASAs can share a license features and do not require the same license on both boxes. I run a test in GNS3 with 8.4(2) images and I saw that by adding the 'activation-key' command only on the primary unit did the job as the 'show activation-key' output shows. In order to be 100% sure would like to verify the following:
Putting the activation-key only on the primary unit is enough and there is no need to do anything elseIn case the primary unit is standby, again we have to put the actication-key command on the primary unit (I am asking this because the 'activation-key' command is not listed under the commands that are not replicated to the other unitk, but doesn't make sense to be replicated since the activation-key is 'tied' with the S/N of the device).

May 16, 2013I have a printer sitting on an outside interface e0/7 that external vendors were able to print to prior to an ISP IP address change and IOS upgrade.
We upgraded our IOS from 8.2.1 to 8.2.5. The printer wasn't changed so the MAC address mapping is still correct on the ISP translation list. The ISP issues DHCP MAC reservations for static IP address assignment. My printer doesn't seem to be getting the DHCP assignment now.
Here is the before and after config. I'm just wondering since this worked prior to changeing the IP and IOS changes if there is another command I need since upgrading from 8.2.1 to 8.2.5. The DHCP IP address is assigned and is working on my e0/0 vlan2 outside interface.

Questions
1. With IP Base License, will I be able to run Frame Relay? I really need reference on what works and what doesn't between these different technology package licenses ? Actually frame relay is running on it right now, hope it doesn't suddenly stop after 60 days...
2. As I understand in order to run MPLS, I will need to upgrade to Data License "SL-19-DATA-K9". Since, I already have a Cisco 1941 to upgrade it, I need to order a spare license / paper PAK?
3. Does the IP Base License support site to site IPSEC VPN or do I need to purchase a security license "SL-19-SEC-K9"
4. Can I have both security and data license activated on the same device ?
5. If I do activate security or data license will I be able to use the IP Base features at the same time?
6. If I purchase a new Cisco 1941 with Data or Security License do I need to purchase the IP Base License then upgrade the license?
7. Is the 1941 suited for voice application routing ?
Cisco VPN :: SSL Feature License On 1941 Not Deployed
Jul 18, 2011I have recently purchased 2 x 1941 routers with 2 L-SL-19-SEC-K9= and 2 L-FL-SSLVPN10-K9= licenses. I've installed the licenses through Cisco Configuration Pro ver 2.5 and installation did not generate any errors. After saving config and reloading the device, on the License dashboard, the deploy status for the SSL VPN is "Not deployed" and I have no way of deploying it. The state also says "Active, Not in use". I have tried reinstalling the license via command line but get error "license duplicate - already installed" suggesting the installation was OK. The sec license deployed without any issues. Is there any way to manually deploy this SSL_VPN license?

Jun 16, 2011I installed a 1941 router with an encrypted GRE tunnel yesterday. The router has ipbasek9 and securiyk9 licensed. Initially the router was running the image c1900-universalk9-mz.SPA.150-1.M5.bin and was working fine. The tunnel was up and passing traffic. I then upgraded the IOS to c1900- universal k9-mz.SPA.151-2.T2.bin and when I reloaded the router the tunnel was stuck in a reset/down state. I tried doing shut/no shut on the interface and reloading the router again, no change. Being under some time pressure to get the device back into production I rolled back to the previous IOS image and the tunnel worked fine again. Is there a known bug that causes this behavior? I have searched cisco.com but have not found one. [code]

So, we ordered the free of charge 4.0 to 4.1 minor upgrade license. Now we have a 3.x to 4.0 upgrade license and the 4.0 to 4.1 minor upgrade license and don't know how to proceed.
Is it now possible to install 4.1 from scratch directly and use the 4.0 to 4.1 upgrade license to register it? Of course we want to avoid to install 4.0 as an extra step...

Oct 4, 2011I'm trying to upgrade an asr1001 (r1) from asr1001-universal.03.02.00.S.151-1.S.bin to asr1001-universalk9.03.02.00.S.151-1.S.bin. i've put in the boot system flash asr1001-universalk9.03.02.00.S.151-1.S.bin command and reloaded but the box keeps loading first image the configuration register is 0x2102. i've tried the license module command to enable adv enterprise but it made no difference so i removed it again. my license is now;

May 3, 2011I have a firewall module in a Switch Catalyst 6500. I wan to upgrade its context capacity to a greater capacity. When I looked it in the Dynamic configuration, it send me following number parts:

The first one is the license to have 20 context and the next one is upgrade from 20 context to 50 context. My problem is that I haven't could find a service support contract associate them.I want to know if they have or not service contract, because I can´t find them.
