Using RV042 router,have an office with 4 computers XP PRO SP3 and only 2 need to use the VPN connection.problem is each one will connect just fine BUT when one is connected the other will not connect untill the other is disconnected.have another office with very similar setup (same quickvpn client) (same router)and i have 2 computers connecting at same time just fine.have checked all i can think of.

I have 2 RV042 routers with identical firmware (1.3.13.02-tm) and settings. One router is a backup that sits in a box, but both experience this problem. The WAN port gives very poor performance most of the time. Download speeds range from normal, 25mb, to less than .5mb. Pings from my command prompt or the routers "Diagnostic" page, even to the cable modem, are almost always above 500ms. However, pings to internal resources are fast, usually under 5ms. If I connect my laptop directly to the cable modem I have no speed issues. The problem occurs whether I use WAN1 or WAN2.
If I restart the router, speeds are fine for a few seconds and then it begins to slow down like someone is turning down a dial. We also regularly experience a complete internet disconnect quite often, and when it happens, the ping results are the same when it comes back up, almost like the router is restarting itself. [code]
I just got a new RV042. V3 Hw.For setup and testing before putting it in action, I've attached the WAN1 side to my internal network.But it fails to get an IP address, and the log shows: "Infinite lease time, exiting".My current router on the LAN is giving out DHCP addresses with 3 hour lease time, and I've checked with the PC's on the LAN that this is correct.The routers DHCP status shows that the lease time for the RV042 is 3 hours ahead.So why does the RV042 complain about long lease time ?Is there a way to avoid this error from occurring?
I have tried to change from 'Gateway' to 'Router', but this does not change anything.Also tried a factory reset, with no luck.Fw is upgraded to the latest 4.0.4.02

I have to go in and put in the key every time... and then there are times that it says "limited or no connectivity". We just had a new router/modem installed in our network just yesterday. I enabled it and set up the schedule but it does not cut off the internet. I went through create a new schedule and did that but again it still connects. Then, in access control, I selected always and put in my son's IP address and created a schedule for him but it won't allow him any internet access.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm using a Lenovo Y 560 using a wireless connection to an Apple Airport extreme. I have been using this set up for a few months without any problems. However, recently, my computer has been disconnecting at random time for 30-60 seconds. There isn't any lag before or after and this occurs when gaming or browsing. The weird thing is, there are about 15 other PCs and Macs using the airport and none of them are experiencing this problem. I used my 'one key recovery' button and restored my computer to the factory default and updated/reinstalled all wireless drivers and the problem still persists. At this point I'm stumped, any suggestions?

Any of the 3 devices will connect to the internet via wireless but ONLY one at a time. If you are connected with one and turn on one of the others it will kick the one off that you were on and only 1 device can use wireless at a time?

I have a Cisco WRT120N Router and a Cisco Valet AM10 wireless adapter. Almost every time the computer reboots, I loose my network and I have to redo the AM10 setup. The AM10 is the only device that loses the connection, my lap top and printer do not lose the connection.
Problem 2: Everytime I upplug and replug the AM10 a window pops up saying I need to check the drive for errors but none
are found.
Problem 3: I downloaded the AM10 install program, Downloadable.Setup.AM10.1.2.10148.2. It does not work. If I try to run it Iget an error message that the setup canot be completed and to call in for support.
Problem 4: When I can get it working is shows that it is Wireless Connection 5. Why 5 and not 1? Where are the other 4?

PPTP working fine but not with Quick VPN .. test on some computer and internet access still can not get connect to router.
We are currently running Windows 2003 Domain in our network with DHCP turned on the Server. We have turned off the DHCP on the Router. We are using RV042 as out Gateway to the internet and everything is working fine. We would like to allow a couple of our users to be able to VPN into the network so that they can use Outlook and be able to access their files on the Shared Folder. The users would be using their laptops from their homes to connect via VPN using the standard Windows 7 VPN connection.
In the RV042 Interface there are many options and I am not sure I understand which setting would allow them to connect successfully to the network, be authenicated as a domain user.
A client of mine has a Cisco RV042 Router. I've configured it to run VPN and it works, sort of. Some clients can connect, others can't, for no discernible reason.
Specific machine issues are Windows 7 x64 or x86, Quick VPN latest release, unobtrusive (Avast or Microsoft Security Essentials) security, etc. 2 separate machines on the same home remote network, 1 can connect just fine, the other can't. My laptop (Win7 x64) connects just fine, one of my techs can connect OK, the IT support guy that works for this client can connect.

I cant' connect my 2 laptops on the internet at the same time, only 1 laptop can connect on the net and the other one don't or they can both connect to the internet but it doesn't stop disconnecting on both of them.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am having difficulty with gateway to gateway vpn on RV042.I have site A and site B, both have static IP address,local IP at site A is 192.168.1.0 local IP at site B is 192.168.5.0I have configured each site as directed in the documentation, the sites connect ok within the admin consoles, I cannot browse any resources from either site. Site A is a domain.local and I am part of that domain at site B. I can ping site B local address from site A and vice versa however I can not ping any of the servers or NAS devices on either network. the only device I can ping successfully inside the network is a phone server (splicecom unit).
I have read various posts in the discussion boards but have found no resolve. Internet access is fine from either site. I think that it could possibly be a DNS issue but am unsure, should I add DNS entries in the advanced section, if so what DNS would I enter?
I have one 2621 router i want to creat time base access list so that one of my subnet user(10.128.194.0 255.255.255.128) use only internet between 11am to 2pm.

Can not connect computer to Cisco Connect -.Receive error msg 82BD0305. Reset to EA3500 to default and reinstalled software.
