May 30, 2011We have a customer running a RV 120W, and if the internet connection is disconnected it disables NAT, and you have to log on to the setup and enable it again. This is very annoying if the net connection goes down as you have to manually fix, why it does this and how to make it enable NAt by default?

Jan 29, 2011For the life of me I can’t get my quick VPN client to connect to my Cisco 120w. I have IPSec gateway to gateway setup and working just fine. I made my quick vpn client under vpn tab. I enabled remote management. Every time I try to connect I get the failed to establish connection. Using the same quick VPN software I can connect to a rv082 with no trouble.

Sep 30, 2011I recently replaced a client's router with a Cisco RV 120W. The client employs a web-based application on an internal server that manages their business. Workers in the field use a handheld device power by WIndows Mobile to access a mobile version of the the web-based app. Data contained on the mobile app syncronizes with the server when workers choose a sync menu. Some workers perform this sync in the field, others wait till they return to the office and use the wireless provided by the router. Prior to changing the router, the synching worked fine either inside or outside the company network. The mobile app accesses the internal server via the router's public IP address. The router forwards the http requests to the internal server. But now the synching does not work internally. I assume it's because the Cisco RV 120 W does not support NAT Loopback, or I simply haven't figured out how to enable it. Does anyone know how to enable NAT Loopback on the RV 120 W so I can access the web-based app by through the router's external IP while on the private side of the LAN??

My internet is working fine and when i go to 192.168.1.1 i can logon (with the password i set using the installation disk) but then i see the top of the config site (blue) but where the config panel should be i see `site cannot be displayed`.

Oct 12, 2011I managed to set up an ipsec vpn between the RV 120W (responder) and Shrewsoft vpn client.The virtual ip and dns for the client pc are manually set. The tunnel is enabled, but I see no traffic between the local and the remote LAN.I can't ping or reach any pc behind the router.Using the command ipconfig /all on the client pc, I see that no gateway is assigned to the virtual vpn interface.So it seems that the RV 102W is unable to pass to the client the address of the default gateway for the lan, and I think this is why I can't access any resource.

Sep 12, 2011I am not a tech guy but have to take care of some basic IT stuff. I had Ether fast cable/DSL router and it got changed with RV 120W router. there were comment that internet is now working slowly - what could be the reason for this?
I copied most of settings. First big technical problem was with phone. It stopped working - call could get through but when answered there was no sound. We use linksys modem for VoIP. I called operator and was told to disable sip alg. I did that and service improved a little. When answering a call sound could get through but would stop for few moments and then continue. Operator told me to forward port 16384 to 16482 to VoIP modem IP. But I can only set forwarding for one port at the time in "Port forwarding" settings. Is there a way to forward to port range?

Internet can be accessed.I just want IPSec passthrough for some people who can connect with Nortel contivity client to the company RSA server. I can make only one connection. The second connection fails with 'banner text' response issues. One connection always works. The router has the latest firmware. I have enabled IPsec passthru.

Sep 11, 2011We have just acquired a Cisco RV120W Firewall Router and we are experiencing issues with this router. I've read some threads related to port forward issue with RV120W before writing this new topic.
We have 2 locations (site A and site B) connected with a Site to Site VPN (PPTP) running under Windows Server 2008 R2 with TMG 2010. This Site to Site VPN worked very well until we replaced our old router with the RV120W at site B. Since this moment, our engineers are not able to make the site to site VPN work again. The TMG box are located just behind the router.
We have followed some threads about Port Forwarding but it did not solve our issue (others port forwarding rules for RDP for example work). Our RV120W is running the last stable firmware (1.0.2.6) provided by Cisco.

I am having an issue where I type [URL] (for a server running on my network) in my web browser while on the internal network and it always comes back with the router login page. Basically it is supposed to go out of the router and then come back in on the public IP address and hit that server. There was a function on the WRT54G called "Filter Internet NAT redirection" which when turned off would allow this to happen. I am not seeing a feature like this on the RV120W

Jan 2, 2012We currently have a Guest wireless setup at my company, instead of using a anchor controller we have dual contorllers with each having one interface connecting out into our dmz and then going out. it's a pure L2 connection and exits out to the internet via a DMZ interface on our ASA. We recently purchased a PA-200 Palo Alto firewall to use for this Guest network, and configured everything exactly how it's all ready setup on our dmz switch and asa with the same ip addresses. When we connect the outside interfaces from the controller to a L2 switch that's connected to the Palo Alto firewall we can't get dhcp requests thru and have no connectivity, even if we set a static IP on our client we still have no connectivity and it won't redirect us. We use Web-Auth for our authenication with this network and I know once you get an IP address it will only allow dns to redirect to the virtual IP for authenication before it allows anything else but it is the exact same setup as we had before just with a different firewall so I'm stuck. Also if I plug directly into the switch via ethernet cable I can get an IP address and get out to the internet.

I want to setup a second inside interface on the firewall and configure it as failover incase this happens again. I want to attach it to the other switch. Can I do this? We use Blue Coat Packetshapers and Barracuda Proxy appliances. I plan on setting up HSRP on both 6509's for traffic coming from our ISP Cisco 2811's as well as use HSRP for our DMZ and internal network. I would like to setup the firewalls for statefull failover. We will be using PAT for our internal users and one-to-one static NAT for our DMZ.
Is it better to setup the firewall's as transparent or routed?
Since the firewall is built into the switch, how do I insert the Barracuda proxies? I can configure them as transparent or routed proxies.

Mar 13, 2012I want to connect two sites through a VPN tunnel, such that each machine can access all others, regardless of which site they're located.
The two sites have a VDSL connexion with dynamic public IP addresses. Unfortunately, our ISP does not offer static IP addresses with VDSL connexions.
