Cisco Routers :: RV 120W Port Forwarding And Remote Address

Mar 3, 2013

I have a RV120W; configured to perform port forwarding. I have Configured a Port Forwarding and Access Rule

* Sample Firewall: Access Rules:
Action        | Service | Status  | Connection Type                                | Source IP | Destination IP

[Code]....

Everything works, but in my destination server, i see as remote address the IP for the RV120W. I want it to forward also the originating IP address of the client (the remote address)

Is it possible to configure this?

I have also configured DMZ for my server, but see same behaviour

Firmware: 1.0.3.10

Cisco Routers :: Need NAT Loop Back For RV 120W

Sep 30, 2011

I recently replaced a client's router with a Cisco RV 120W.  The client employs a web-based application on an internal server that manages their business.  Workers in the field use a handheld device power by WIndows Mobile to access a mobile version of the the web-based app.  Data contained on the mobile app syncronizes with the server when workers choose a sync menu.  Some workers perform this sync in the field, others wait till they return to the office and use the wireless provided by the router. Prior to changing the router, the synching worked fine either inside or outside the company network.  The mobile app accesses the internal server via the router's public IP address.  The router forwards the http requests to the internal server.  But now the synching does not work internally.  I assume it's because the Cisco RV 120 W does not support NAT Loopback, or I simply haven't figured out how to enable it.  Does anyone know how to enable NAT Loopback on the RV 120 W so I can access the web-based app by through the router's external IP while on the private side of the LAN??

Cisco Routers :: RVS4000 Doesn't Give Out IP Address To Client?

Aug 16, 2011

RVS4000 router doesnt give out an IP address to a client connecting with QVPN v1.303 (or v1.4..- tried that too), connection seems good, router logs the connection and tracks its duration etc but client side does not get an IP from the RVS4000 side -keeps local LAN ip + there is no access to the remote shares etc. RVS 4000 has DHCP enabled. Client side subnet is different to the VPN side. VPN users are setup correctly (Router logs the user as connected) . Port 443 is not setup in port forwarding. (posted in LAN Routing & Switching 2 days ago but I got no response so I thought Id try here !)

Cisco Routers :: Setting Up Vpn With RV 120W Cannot Access LAN Resources

Oct 12, 2011

The tunnel is enabled, but I see no traffic between the local and the remote LAN.I can't ping or reach any pc behind the router.Using the command ipconfig /all on the client pc, I see that no gateway is assigned to the virtual vpn interface. So it seems that the RV 102W is unable to pass to the client the address of the default gateway for the lan, and I think this is why I can't access any resource.

Cisco Routers :: RV 120W - Port Forwarding Range

Sep 12, 2011

I am not a tech guy but have to take care of some basic IT stuff. I had Ether fast cable/DSL router and it got changed with RV 120W router. there were comment that internet is now working slowly - what could be the reason for this?

I copied most of settings. First big technical problem was with phone. It stopped working - call could get through but when answered there was no sound. We use linksys modem for VoIP. I called operator and was told to disable sip alg. I did that and service improved a little. When answering a call sound could get through but would stop for few moments and then continue. Operator told me to forward port 16384 to 16482 to VoIP modem IP. But I can only set forwarding for one port at the time in "Port forwarding" settings. Is there a way to forward to port range?

Cisco Routers :: RV 120W Port Forwarding 1723 To A PPTP Server

Sep 11, 2011

We have just acquired a Cisco RV120W Firewall Router and we are experiencing issues with this router. I've read some threads related to port forward issue with RV120W before writing this new topic.

We have 2 locations (site A and site B) connected with a Site to Site VPN (PPTP) running under Windows Server 2008 R2 with TMG 2010. This Site to Site VPN worked very well until we replaced our old router with the RV120W at site B. Since this moment, our engineers are not able to make the site to site VPN work again. The TMG box are located just behind the router.

We have followed some threads about Port Forwarding but it did not solve our issue (others port forwarding rules for RDP for example work). Our RV120W is running the last stable firmware (1.0.2.6) provided by Cisco.

Cisco Routers :: RV 120W Can't Access Internal Servers By External Addresses

I recently cut over from a WRT54G to a RV120W.  I am having an issue where I type [URL] (for a server running on my network) in my web browser while on the internal network and it always comes back with the router login page.  Basically it is supposed to go out of the router and then come back in on the public IP address and hit that server.  There was a function on the WRT54G called "Filter Internet NAT redirection" which when turned off would allow this to happen.  I am not seeing a feature like this on the RV120W

Cisco Routers :: Site-to-site VPN With Dynamic IP Addresses Using RV 120W

Mar 13, 2012

I want to connect two sites through a VPN tunnel, such that each machine can access all others, regardless of which site they're located.

The two sites have a VDSL connexion with dynamic public IP addresses. Unfortunately, our ISP does not offer static IP addresses with VDSL connexions.

I plan to do the following : install two RV 120W routers, one at each site, right after the VDSL modemconfigure the modems in bridge mode, such that the 120Ws get directly the WAN IP address and trafficuse DynDNS to assign domain names (site1.dyndns.org and site2.dyndns.org) to each siteassign different subnets to each site (ie 192.168.1/24 for site 1 and 192.168.2/24 for site 2)configure a VPN tunnel in gateway mode using the FQDN (site.dyndsn.org and site2.dyndns.org) of each site on both routers, with corresponding remote subnets

DSL-320B No IP Address Given To Router Until After Cloning MAC Address From Another Computer

Jun 1, 2012

We have an ADSL connection and use a D-Link DSL-320B modem. We have a D-Link DIR-120 router connected to this modem. This has worked perfectly fine up until today when we disconnected the router and connected a computer (call it A) directly to the modem because it was getting an unusable connection through the router for some reason. We later also performed a factory reset on the DIR-120 router.

Unfortunately, after the above steps the router did not receive any IP address (through DHCP) from the ADSL connection anymore. During my attempts to debug this I noticed that my laptop (call it B) didn't get any IP address either (when connected directly to the modem). I noticed the following syslog entries repeating over and over while trying to connect: [code]

At this point computer A could still get a connection just fine tho (when connected directly to the modem).

I then tried to change the MAC address of the router to an arbitrary one (a copy of computer B's MAC address but with the last digit increased by one). The router still did not get assigned any IP address. Finally I tried making the router clone the MAC address of a third computer (call it C). C has never been connected directly to the modem. Doing this worked. After cloning the MAC address of computer C the router is immediately assigned an IP address and the internet connection works as it did prior to all this.

Now, my question is, why would computer B and the original MAC address of the router not be able to get an IP address while two other computers worked just fine? Why would changing to an arbitrary MAC address not work while cloning the MAC address of another computer did? Could the router's MAC address have been blocked by the ISP for some reason (and what could cause this)?

but my situation seems more like a blacklisting of some MAC addresses rather then allowing just a single MAC address.

Computer Not Showing Up In DHCP Client List?

Feb 9, 2011

I just started having this problem yesterday. I was experiencing weird downloading/internet browsing issues and couldn't figure out what the problem was. I started looking around my router settings and noticed that in my DHCP Client list, my computer isn't in it. The router is hooked up to the computer, so it's not wireless. My phone and my girlfriend's laptop are listed, but the main computer isn't. It's especially causing problems with port forwarding. Downloads will stop because the port isn't showing as open. I'm running 64 bit Windows 7 and a Belkin N+ Wireless Router, model F5D8235-4.Firmware is up to date.

Cisco Wireless :: 6500 - DHCP Client Not Getting Address

Oct 31, 2012

Currently we're providing DHCP to wireless clients from a dhcp pool on a cisco 6500. Due to new requirements we need to move to windows 2008 dhcp and when I test this on an unused WLC (7.0.235.0) the client doesn't get an address.

When I do a packet capture on the client I see it requesting dhcp but not getting any response from the server. When I do a dhcp debug on the client I see the same (see attached file).

This seems to me to be a server issue but the same server is supplying addresses to wired clients.

Anyway, when a client connects to the AP, it cannot get an IP address.  It is able to connect to the AP but does not pickup an IP from our internal DHCP server. I've been up and down tthe config screens and even tried hard resetting the AP and starting from scratch to no avail. This happens with 2.4Ghz and 5 Ghz modes.

I've tried laptops and smartphones with the same result.

Servers :: Default Gateway / IP And DNS Address For Client PC?

May 29, 2012

Client is having 1 file server running small business windows server 2003. Server is not configured with domain, it is working only on workgroup. We have around 15 users who are using that server as file server only. Now my main question is do i need to configure DNS server in that server?we also have internet connection running (have problem in that also, will explain next time) with wireless router to connected with switch. So do I need to setup dns in server also or just put static ip (I prefer static then dhcp) & dns server from ip will be ok? If I put dns which I got from ISP, so will it create any problem with using those file from server?the second question is..

What IP address, Default gateway and dns address I should use for Server & also client pc.
router ip - 192.168.1.1
server ip - 192.168.1.10
Currently no DNS setupcurrent configuration - Server

gateway - 192.168.1.1
dns - 213.42.20.20 (from ISP)

Client Expects Port 21 But FTP-servers Have Same IP Address?

Mar 19, 2013

My setup is as follows: as a part of a global network, I have two separate measurement stations collecting data in the field. They are working with some kind of embedded linux system and is running an FTP-server so that I can download collected data. I have some control over the stations, which e.g. means that I can select the port used for the FTP-server (default is 21).Unfortunately, for this particular set of measurement stations, they are connecting via FTP-over-radio-link to another station which is connected to my computer via a router (on the server-side) and I can only "see" their common external IP address. If I have understood this correctly, they can not use the same port for FTP traffic, right? The router used is some (for me) unknown brand with unknown capabilities, so I don't expect/want a solution at that end. Now, to my problem: as a part of this global network there is a custom software running on my computer that automatically connects to all the different stations to download and process the data. This software runs on any recent version of Windows, but I'm running Windows XP right now. There is no way for me to modify this software at this point (for the future, maybe, but not now), and unfortunately it has a severe limitation: it MUST use port 21 for FTP-connections.My first attempt was to set the FTP-port to 2121 for one of the servers and create another IP address on my client network adapter and try to forward port 21 of this new IP to port 2121 on the server/router side, but due to lack of knowledge and experience I did not manage to get this working fully.
