I am working to test the PPPoE solution. The requirement is that she like to have a PPPoE server (7200), enable the DHCP pool on the router. The PPPoE client (1811) should receive the IP address through the DHCP and with subnet mask (/24) so that routing protocol can enable between the PPPoE server and client.We test with some initial configuration but not success to obtain DHCP address from the pool.
On PPPoE server router,

I have a user using windows 7 64 bit. I tried vpnclient-winx64-msi-5.0.07.0290-k9.exe and vpnclient-winx64-msi-5.0.07.0440-k9.exe. Installation is fine. Connecting is fine. But no traffic goes through.The remote end cisco is 1811 VPN Server split tunnel. User get authenticated by Radius server.
After connected, user get the correct IP address. In router, sh crypto session, it has SA, etc. But sh ip route, can't find the Static route point back to the client IP like other connections.
At user end, windows show the IP address but no gateway. Windows route print shows the VPN network via gateway xxx.xxx.xxx.1 which is not available.Other 32bit users have no issues with VPN.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the netgear wndr4500 setup on my home theater shelves which are located in the corner of the room. When using my ASus G74sx with the Atheros 9002 wifi I consistently get disconnected. The wifi connection is lost and needs to be re-established.
Interestingly, when I am using the laptop downstairs the disconnects never happen. I have pored over my router's settings, updated to the latest firmware, as well as installed the latest drivers on the laptop. I also tried setting the router to short preamble and changing the channels to 11and automatic.
We try to establish a Site-To-Site- IP Sec- connection between a Cisco 876 (local site) and a Check Point-firewall (remote site). The Cisco 876 is not directly connected to the internet, but is behind a DSL- Router with port-forwarding, forwarding ports 500 and 4500. The running config of the Cisco 876 is appended to this discussion thread. Unfortunately I get no output when debugging the connection with commands "debug crypto isakmp" and "debug crypto ipsec".
From the Checkpoint-firewall point of view the connection seems to establish, but there is no ping answer.
The server on the local site that should be reached from the network behind the Checkpoint-firewall has a routing entry "route -P add [inside ip-net remote] 255.255.255.0 [inside ip local]" (see also appended running config for naming of ip- addresses). Establishing a Cisco VPN- Client connection to the same Cisco 876 router works fine.
I use win7 os and samsung e2652 champ duos mobile. When I connect mobile to pc, the dial-up connection not established and show the error 777: the modem on the remote computer is out of order.

Anyhow, i just bought a laptop yesterday and so, a router is a must to connect wirelessly. I received an old Linksys BEFW11S4 v4 router from a friend and decided to use it as it's still functional. Yes, i know it's an ancient router but i'm on a tight budget.The setup - I have the ethernet from my modem plugged into the router. I have another ethernet cable in slot #1 (router) connected to my desktop. For my laptop, it'll be a wireless connection.Issue - Now, the connection for my desktop (via ethernet cable in slot #1 on the router) works perfectly fine. I have it set up (on browser - 192.168.1.1), added the SSID, WPA Shared Key and such. The only issue is with my laptop. Everytime i switch on my laptop, i cannot establish a connection (after selecting the SSID and entering the key). The ONLY way for me to get a connection is if i power off then on the router. Each time i turn on/restart my laptop, i'll have to power off/on the router in order for me to get it to work.

I've struggled now for a couple of days to setup a PPPoe connection on our cisco 887va box. I can setup straight away on a draytek box so i know the connection is good.I can't get the line protocol to come up? It's connected via ethernet port 0 to an external modem. One thing i can't figure out is if ethernet 0 and fast ethernet 0 is the same physical port?I've attached the running-config below.

I have an issue with Cisco RV042 i have two Internet access connection from my ISP one with 30Mbps and the other with 8Mbps.
i have 30Mbps in WAN1 and 8Mbps on WA2
my issue that i was connecting both of the WAN connections using DHCP mode and it was working fine and the ISP modem was terminating the PPPOE
now i decided to use PPPOE on the Cisco RV042 and change the ISP modem to bridge mode.
WAN1 is working were as WAN2 is not working.
i tried to factory reset, shift links, in all cases WAN2 if its on PPPOE does not go up.
i am using latest firmware from cisco.com.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just upgraded my old WAG54GS to WAG160N-E1 (Annex B). I've configured the PPPoE connection and everything was up and running... for about an hour. Then the router started dropping internet connection on pretty much regular basis (every 40-50min?) - it then takes 1-2 min until it reconnects again... Obviously that makes any online gaming a nightmare.
I'm now running again on the WAG54GS and everything is ok (except it doesn't support >6Mbps speed which is the reason I upgraded the router in the first place) so it's not an issue with the ADSL line.
We have an RV082 (firmware 2.0.2.01-tm),with an ADSL connection over PPPoE. It connects fine, and I can ping anything, and I can also access websites with HTTPS, but when trying to access any website with HTTP, it doesn't work.There's no load balancing going on, and it's the same whether we have the Firewall turned on or off, and everything else is pretty much as default.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a netopia 3347W adsl modem/router that I have put in "ethernet bridge" mode. At that point the RV110W has to authenticate to ATT using PPPOE. I have verified the username/paswd for the PPPOE connection. The 110w will not complete the PPPOE connection. Looking at the logs it shows that it handshakes and authenticates with the PPPOE server. Then unexpectedly the log shows a termination with exit status 15. It then tries to renegotiate the PPPOE connection.

I'm having issues with PPPoE connection. On a daily level, my connection breaks 1-5 times. In the past, it was related to signal problems, but ISP Tech. team fixed this some 10 days ago. Now, whenever I call them they say connection was broken on user request and ask me if I'm running services like torrents.
I don't run torrents and all I have is standard windows update services, nod 32, as well as steam client.

When I connect my old ASMAX $30 router, I get 78 Mbit/sek. And I find it OK.But when I connect my EA6500 I get 28 MBits/sec. Same result on wire as on wireless connection. Of course If I enable prioritisation, I get even less, 12-15 Mbits/sec.I tried already even configuration with ASMAX as wired router and EA6500 connected to its LAN port. It gives me 50Mbits/sec.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm having a very difficult time getting my WRT54GS to work with my Westell 6100 modem. I've been bouncing around gathering info, and what I've learned is that the goofy way CenturyLink tech support told me to hook up my old wired router (modem line into outgoing (LAN) router port) is because the Westell 6100 is a "smart modem/router". Therefore, when I run the Linksys setup CD, it sees the modem as a router, and won't properly configure. I've also learned that the Westell modem can be "dumbed down" into simply a modem by putting it into "bridge mode", which is where I'm at right now - trying to get it reset to factory defaults and resetting the connection type from PPPoE to Bridge. In the meantime, I also reset the WRT54GS to factory defaults, and now I've got another problem: the router will not allow me to set up encryption. The default setting is "Disabled", and when I click the down arrow and try to make any selection at all (preferred selection is WPA2 Personal), it reverts to Disabled. I've also tried to change the router's IP address to 192.168.2.1 (and alternately to 192.168.1.253), so it won't conflict with the modem's IP, and it freezes up every time I try.

Inside host 10.1.1.60 needs to use port 61200 for bit torrent. Dont want the port to be visible as open to the global net accept when the host 10.1.1.60 establishes the connection first.That way a port doesnt have to be left open 24-7.
