My bootvar is set to boot up images from disk0. The 6500 series switch has two redundant supervisors.Each supervisor has a PCMCIA card with the exact same IOS images in the 0 slot. The secondary supervisor is given the disk name slavedisk0 and the primary is simply disk0
View 2 RepliesI deleted the flash from an ASA5510. I was able to tftp a version back into the device, but cannot seem to correctly have the box boot from this flash. I get the following error:

I have tried every save syntax i can think of to save this flash, but have yet to have it boot with an image ( I keep booting into ROMMON and have to tftp the image back in)
Customer is using SUP720 with SP rommon image version 8.1(3), he is trying to boot the new ios image from disk0, but he gets invalid magic error. he fomat the disk0 but still he gets error when he boots from disk0. He suspect that it can't be flash problem but can be software of hardware as he has two flash with same issue on 2 switches.
Customer wanted to recreate, I tried in the lab, i was able to load from disk0, but sup in lab had 8.5(4).
Customer wanted me try with 8.1(3) version. But i was unable to downgrade the SP Rommon image. SP rommon is running in Gold region and I loaded the 8.1(3) from both disk0 and sup-bootdisk, even preferrence was given to region1 but still sup came up with gold region itself.
* Will i be able to downgrade from 8.5(4) to 8.1(3), if so, what are the steps.
* is there any limitation or bug where 8.1(3) will be unable to read disk0.
I am trying to configure redundancy with SSO and I need to get the same IOS on both supervisors. My issue is that I get an error when I try to copy the IOS from either the sup-bootdisk or the disk0 to the slavesupbootdisk. The Error is Invalid argument.
I have tried also to tftp to the slavesupbootdisk and get the same result.
One CF in one of ASA had died from active/standby failover cluster few days ago.
So all works perfectly.
But now I have:
asa-5520/act# sh fail
Failover On
Failover unit Secondary

Or I can make on current secondary command: failover lan primary And boot up another ASA with config from secondary?
I recently had some trouble with my ASA 5505 in that the running config would not be saved after a reboot. Definitely looked like a hardware problem with the flash memory. I have since bought a new flash memory card and copied the contents of the old card to the new card. 1st problem I have is that I can see the image on the new card, but for some reason it wont boot into that image. I get /file not found
I then successfully load a new image to the device and it boots successfully. I then follow it with a
Cisco asa# config t
Cisco(config)# boot system disk0:/asa831-k8.bin
(to ensure it boots from the flash in the future) and I get
WARNING: BOOT variable added, but unable to find disk0:/asa831-k8.bin
I have since tried
ciscoasa# fsck disk0:
Unsupported file system type!
%Error checking disk0: (No such file or directory)
When ever I try to do anything with Disk0: i get the same error. (No such file or directory). I have also tried putting the old flash card in the ASA and I now get the same response.
my Cisco ASA 5510 doesn't save the configuration to the disk.

Let's say I have 12 computers so I want the 24 mbps divided across the 12 pc, but if I shut down 4 of those computers , I want some sort of software that would be capable of detecting that activity so my 8 remaining Pc will have more bandwith. View 2 Replies View RelatedA client of mine is using a Cisco 877w wireless router, they have one IP phone connected to one of the RJ45 ports on the back of the router and their main desktop is also plugged directly into the router - this all functions perfectly.However, the router is in a private house and as such it provides connectivity for all other wireless devices such as iPhones, Ipads and Xbox Live etc. The problem is that the router only allows 5 devices to be connected at any one time and when a sixth attempts to connect to the router the first device (the IP phone) is diconnected automatically.
So my client can be using the IP phone for an important call and his son walks in with Iphone and Xbox, friends etc etc and the IP phone is immediatley disonnected from the router. I beleive that the router should allow more than 5 devices to connect and would hope there is a way of stopping the IP phone constantly being disconnected.I have already paid for "Cisco Engineers" to attend this site but they cannot get it working.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have two RV082's connected across the internets using the primary WAN ports. They are both set to Auto Load Balance. Both ends of the VPN are set to "IP Only, IP by DNS Resolved".
If I attempt to access the remote subnet, the VPN won't automatically initiate a connection. However, if I do a "Tunnel Test" connection on both routers, then the remote subnet access works just fine.
Should the router automatically connect the VPN when a remote subnet is attempted? If so, what might I do to make it connect automatically?

View 5 Replies View RelatedBefore nearly four years we have purchased 4 Cisco ASA 5500 Device for our organization.Out of these four device currently two are active in field and other two we kept as a spare.Now, in one active device we are facing very rare and strange issue.
The device automatically soft reboot once in nearly 60 days and we do not have any pre or post symptoms of this incident only server logs providing us this information.The device itself located in very controlled environment in a data center where physical tampering or temperature waviness is not possible.
We also asked one Cisco Expert from data center but still issue is not solved.Before two month, using remote syslog service we also started log redirection to a server so that when such incident occurs we have something to analyze but it is worthless log has nothing to tell us.
My questions are
1. "It is a hardware fault or software issue?"
2. "Is it possible with Cisco 5500 that automatically it reboots due to some internal hardware/software issue, if yes how we can trap or monitor it?

I've been configuring hundreds of 3602i APs via Prime without incident, but I've encountered 2 APs that get to the ap: prompt and doesn't proceed further. If I type boot, then they'll complete the boot process.
How do I configure these 2 APs so they will automatically boot fully?
I have installed LMS 3.2 on a Win Server 2008, with 160 GB HDD. But it seems that it is running out of space after some times.So actually we managed to add another server, with a HDD of 500 GB capacity, and maped this HDD as a network drive.Now my question is: is it possible to enable LMS to automatically save all syslogs and collected data from the actual 160 GB HDD, to the new one 500 GB HDD?

When I bought the modem, I set the modem correctly by putting its CD in my PC & following it..But the last week when I opened the internet, the internet was telling that DNS server failed to look-up.. or something like that in my Google Chrome.So I put the disk in my PC.. And again I set the modem correctly by following CD's instructions..Then the internet started to work again..Now today also when I opened the internet the same manner it shows a message.. set the modem again..So my question is why is this happening ??And yea also the Wi-Fi's password setting has been also changing from WPA to Open..Is there a way to set this modem correctly.. without being setting the modem everytime.

So i tried to find a solution on the web (wierless internet still worked) and stumbeld upon a similar problem were the answer was to manually fill in an adress in the "internet protocol version 4" properties in the "local area connection" properties. I then noticed that i dident have the "Obtain DNS server address" set to automatically and that the other manual boxes were empty. I then turned the auto on an i had access to internet. Is this safe? Cause i read somewere that DNS server addresess were provided by the company that provide you your internet service, and that you can be redericted to a fake website that can get a hold of your account information on it
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a home network using WEP 128-bit router and my phone is Motorola Atrix with AT&T. until I did the jellybean update to android my phone connected automatically with my home wifi but now it won't connect at all. In all other placed with wifi or hotspots it connects automatically and even with secure networks it saves the password and stays connected. I tried my local AT&T store and they said all my settings in the phone were right and suggested I reboot my router which I did. Nothing has corrected the problem. The wifi doesn't stay on long enough for me to put in my password to connect.
