View 5 RepliesI have three Autonomous AP´s in a small office running voice applications, all of them are connected to the same infrastructure switch and they have same configuration, voice Vlan is configure to open authentication. I have two models of AP 1252 and 1262 and I paste Radio configuration below.
First issue: During calls users are facing problems when roaming between AP´s, and eventually calls are dropped.
Second issue: Sometimes one of these AP´s(1252) lose all transmit signal and when return I got authentication error on log.
I have configured my AP with MBSSID and it does work fine. now I need to take it to the next level and introduce the 2nd ssid to be my home guest network for friends and family that are visiting. What else should I include on this configuration to allow for a hot spot where the user logons and must authenticate themselves via a secure web browser before going out to the internet. Next question would be how to increase the security of the device and the AP.

It is possible to detect situation when two neigbour routers involved in EIGRP routing are configured by mistake with different AS number ?I tried this situation practically. Two routers are connected together via Serial link network. One router has AS 1, other AS 10. I try to detect AS mismatch. First I check what EIGRP packet are comming debug ip packet detail show source <my neighbour IP address> destination 224.0.0.10 Ip protocol type 88. These packets are EIGRP Hello packet.
I try to go more deeply into details.debug eigrp packetsI see only ongoing EIGRP Hello packets. But I don't see any incoming packet from my neighbour (which has different AS number). It seems, because of different AS number router silently drop eigrp packet.Other debug eigrp command also doesn't show any info about AS difference.

when I try to configure my autonomous 1140, it does not work unless I use numbers. If I put in my phone number as my key, I can authenticate just fine. When I change it to some random letters and numbers.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have a couple of autonomous 1262's that I'd like to get configured. I would like to put the Ethernet interface out on our Internet subnet and have the clients get a RFC 1918 address from the radio's. Our little Linksys is setup this way and the clients are PAT'ing off the Ethernet interface when they go to the Internet.
Is this possible with these guys or do I have to put the AP ethernet interface into the same subnet with the DHCP scope? I don't have enough Internet IP's to hand out to every wireless client.

Can a 3502i be downgraded to autonomous mode?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am not having much luck getting it converted via normal ways.
It times outs on TFTP server when you hold the mode button (a 3500 is working fine doing the same thing).
I try the old school way of archive download-sw but it isn't fast enough before it re-dhcp's because it can't find a controller. "*Mar 1 01:17:51.123: %CAPWAP-3-DHCP_RENEW: Could not discover WLC using DHCP IP. Renewing DHCP IP..' Even if I set a static IP address.
Is there way to disable the join process while I upgrade the software? I guess fire up a controller for it to join. I hope I don't have to have a controller to convert these.
I have an AIR-LAP1142 that I'm trying to load the autonomous software onto. I reset the AP with the mode button held down as per instructions. When I release, it attempts to download c1140-k9w7-tar.default from my pc running tftpd62. Several connections are made and then it eventually times out. I tried another machine (also win7 x64) and it fails there too exactly the same.
TFTP logs show:
Connection received from 10.0.0.1 on port 1024 [18/05 17:22:04.269]

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've looked through the documentation for loading the autonomous image on a 1552E WAP that has the lightweight image on it. All the documentation I can find mentions using the "archive" command at the command line. It doesn't appear to like the archive command.
I've seen in the documentation that it also mentions the software is loadable through the controller, but I can't figure out how to do that.
I currently have the 1552E connected to my 5508 controllers running 7.3 software. how to load this autonomous image on to the 1552E? I'm planning on using it to do site surveys with the 1552E.
We purchased some 3502e's and I was told we could set them up as automous ap's to do a site survey. however i haven't come across much online for instructions. i saw one post that mentioned downloading code for another ap model - i think a 1260, but we don't have rights for such a download.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI encounter a strange problem on several AP 1242 in version 12.4(25d)JA1 of a customer : He has 10 autonomous AP covering The APs loose LAN connectivity randomly and therefore the clients don't work anymore. The AP are connected on a 2960 and a 3560 wich are in turn connected on a 3750 wich route the trafic. After checking spanning-tree no loops are present. When I check the counters on the AP involved I see the "trhottles" and "ignored" counters incrementing on the fa0 link of the AP impacted wich mean I think it can't handle the incoming traffic. This incoming traffic seems not to be too big however. I can see drops on the switch interface connecting the AP.
