Wireless is working ok on 1811W.Need to know from command output below what values are considered good for power and signal strenghts

Using Cisco 1811W with IOS 15.1(4)M5. FE0 and FE1 are connected to the internet via Billion ADSL2+ modems operating in bridged mode. Both lines are similar so I'll only discuss FE0 from this point on.Local subnet is 192.168.128.0/24 with router on 192.168.128.1 as default gateway. Modem on FE0 has static LAN IP of 192.168.128.2 and when plugged into the switch on the LAN side, the web interface can be accessed at that IP address. Unplug the modem from the switch and plug it into FE0 and it now works as desired providing access from the router to the internet but the web interface is no longer accessable at 192.168.128.2
I tried adding a static route "ip route 192.168.128.2 255.255.255.255 FastEthernet 0" and also "ip route 192.168.128.2 255.255.255.255 Dialer 1" Neither worked and presumably it isn't that straight forward. Possibly NAT or other routing configuration required.Although there isn't much to configure when in bridged mode, I mostly want this setup so I can look at the ADSL connection status and for the modem to write messages to syslog (works when plugged into switch on LAN side), or SNMP access.
We have three brand new E4200 routers, all using the most current firmware (1.0.02). They are all in bridged mode, however when I attempt to enable the guest network on each of them, the config shows it as active, but it never shows up as visiible SSID. In previous posts, I've seen people saying that I need to do a complete hard reset of the router and re-enter all the configs again to get the guest network active. Is this true? I'd hate to think that I have to hard reset and reconfigure all three of these APs, just to get the guest network enabled.

Need basic wireless configuration for a SOHO Cisco 1811W router? I just need the wireless to connect to the base wired LAN - with both WEP and MAC authentication. And - can the MAC auth. parameters be configured via CLI and not have to use either SDM or CP? I can access the router via SDM - but the Wirless Application will not fire up - and CP doesn't work at all.

I do not have a console port that I can use to access the settings that way so I want to know how to do it using the SDM. I thought I was following the directions but for some reason when I connect my computer to one of the routers LAN ports no connection is recognized on either the router or the computer. How do I go about connecting to the router and accessing the settings?
View 1 Replies View Relatedrecently i do some lab about trunking protocol using Layer 3 switch C3560 and layer 2 switch C2960, but i face a problem that i cannot configure trunk port on my C3560 using "switchport mode trunk" command, and after looking for the answer from google i found that i have to "remove" the "auto" mode of C3560 using "switchport mode dynamic desirable" and after that we can enter the "switcport mode trunk" command successfully.
and my question are, whether the "auto" trunk mode in switch layer 3 is a default mode or not? and why i should enter "sw mode dynamic desirable" command before "sw mo trunk" command ?
I am trying to implement RBSCP on two 3845s running 15.1(4)M1 Adv Enterprise over a satellite link. The "show" commands all look correct, but whenever I policy route my machine through the RBSCP tunnel I dont even make it to the opposite side. However, if I remove the "tunnel mode RBSCP" command so it acts like a regular GRE tunnel, I route through it just fine. So I know its not a NAT, routing issue. [code]
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using 802.1x authentication with multi-domain ports; Phone and PC connected to phone. The phones are Nortel (Avaya) and the PCs are Dell/HP Laptops. All are configured for Certificate authentication and this works well. However we sometimes get some ports stuck in Guest mode. when a non certificated laptop connects to a phone port and fails authentication, the data port is placed in the Guest VLAN. However when the laptop disconnects the port isn't reset and remains in the guest state. When a subsequent good laptop connects and attempts to authenticate the switch ignores this and leaves the data port in the Guest VLAN. he switch is a 2960S with Version 12.2(58)SE2 IOS.

I would have expected the auth function to have reacted to the EAP packets sent by the good client when it connected and performed eap authentication but it didn't, all it did was say the ports in Guest mode and left the laptop in this VLAN.
I am currently setting up a 2800 Series router, and prefer a username/password type authentication rather than a single enable password. To do this, I did:
Router(config)# username <myuser> privilege 15 secret 0 <mypassword>
Router(config)# username2 <myuser> privilege 15 secret 0 <mypassword>
Router(config)# aaa new-model
Router(config)# aaa authentication login default local
This basically does what I want - when I connect to the router through console, it immediately asks me for a username and password. The thing is - as soon as I provide the right credentials, it takes me to USER EXEC mode (the default command mode). Is it possible to change that so that after entering the credentials, I go right into privileged exec mode?
Bonus question: As it is now, I just have no enable password, so when I login with my credentials, I issue "enable" to enter privileged exec mode without it prompting for an additional password. Is it safe to do it this way - having no enable password but requiring a username and password for login?

The new module already has the same IOs version as the standby supervisor.Once I have swapped the module how do I know that the config has sync'd correctly other than checking the logs? Is it a case of looking at the "Redundancy Mode (Operational)" state and ensuring is says SSO?Also, is there a command that will force a config-sync if it is running in a mode other than SSO?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Cisco 1811W that after several years in service suddenly stopped allowing any wireless connection to laptops on the domain. It allows hard wired connections and devices that are just using the wireless hot spot like iPads and Iphones but not devices on the domain. These same laptops connect wirelessly without issue at our other facilities which use the same hardware.

The connection won't come up and when I do show ip route ip address it doesn't show a metric so neither connection has a priority and the connection fails. I want brighthouse to have priority as shown with SLA's but if brighthouse fails I want it to go back to twtelcom. [code]

Apparently,it is not connecting to the TZO server, because when I run <show ip ddns update> in telnet, the message "update destination not available, although rh.tzo.com can be pinged. I am attaching a copy of the config file. the ip name-server entries are my IP DNS, and the url/user name/ key entry was provided by TZO support.

I have attached part of the running config after a binding has been done. My assumption is that the scanner should now show 192.168.1.109 as name <Supermicro>, but the name is blank. Is this configured correctly for what I am trying to acheive?
