Any way to get the DIR-655 to e-mail logs? I have all the e-mail settings set properly, but when I request the logs to be e-mailed, I never get anything. Its not in a spam folder either.I do have the DIR-655 behind a 2wire router/DSL modem. I don't know if this is the problem, but I can send and receive e-mails from my computer which is connected to the DIR-655, so I don't think that is the problem.

As the subject says... Sending logs using "On schedule" option doesn't work. I have my own personal email server I used to test this. When the router time reaches the defined "Start time" nothing happens. I tried both time formats (12h, 24h). The router does NOT initialize the process of sending the email. I see that in my server mail logs. If sent manually from Status -> Logs -> Email now, it works. If sent using "On Log Full" option, also works.
I am trying to setup logging on my router. I want to use my gmail account / gmail SMTP server to send emails.
Does the router support TLS for SMTP?
Oh - and I also get the "critical error" page. I get it when I try to un-check the send logs checkbox in the remote logging management page.

I recently got a new email provider with a webmail. But I can not access the email from my home network. I have tried both my computers so I suspect that it can have something to do with my router. I have also set up the new email account in Outlook and in other networks it works fine, also the webaccess works fine in other networks. It seems that the problem is only related to my home network.i have talked to my ISP provider and they say that all is opened in there network. i have tried to clone the MAC address and that did not solve my problem. I also read the one could change the MTU size from default 1500 to 1440, that did not work either.
I absolutely need to collect the router logs and send them to a syslog daemon or via email.

View 5 Replies View Relatedwe have made migration from CISCO 2821 to ASR1002-X.Cisco router is used as LNS for our ADSL links, using L2TP protocol. On 2821, everything worked fine. Migrating with same config on ASR1002-X, everything worked except L2P sessions.
We wanted to debug but no debug is displayed about L2TP or PPP in console with commands :
- debug aaa authentication
- debug aaa authorization
- debug radius
- debus vpdn l2x-events
- debus vpdn l2x-errors
- debus vpdn l2x-packet
- debug ppp negotiation
- debug ppp authentication
We don't understand why no debug log ??? Is it a bug in IOS XE ?show vpdn session all and show vpdn tunnel all gave "%No active L2TP tunnels"

I have been a loyal customer of a hosting company for over 10 years. The main reason I have a dedicated server is to eliminate those shared-hosting issues.For the past 4 years the service has been getting crappier. In fact; this week alone the ftp stopped working, mysql stopped working, and email.It is now to the point I have to move all my domains, mssql databases, mysql databases, email servers and countless files.I have been contemplating to set up my own dedicated server (Mac) and hook it up to my ISP. No more BSODs, throughput to the web went way up, so all that was a success.Then I tried to set it up to send syslog data to my computer, and it was totally useless. Want to see traffic logs, not debug messages. After a lot of discussion with level-3 tech support, it seems that this router cannot send syslog data to a syslog server that shows the incoming and outgoing traffic IPs for monitoring a network.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a D-Link model DIR-625, and it always seems to disconnect when my mother logs on her computer. Is there some kind of setting on her computer that could be disconnecting us? When my dad is on his I never disconnect which is why I am wondering it must be something on her computer that's interfering with the signal or something. If I reset the router while she's still on, It will disconnect again within a few minutes. So where can I check if it could be her computer that's interfering with the signal?

My router TD-W8951ND remembers only a dozen of latest logs. Previous, older logs disappears. Why? I have a question about NAT behavior on FWSM 4.0. The problem is email server (Company A) cannot connect to email gateway (Company B) on the outside network and it randomly happen. I got this error from server guy "Detail: xlate has blocked the connection between A’s mail gateway and B’s mail gateway". It work fine again after clear xlate on firewall. [code]
1. How FWSM create xlate table like that? I mean it look like NAT0 for 158.137.21.26 but it doesn't has any nat rule for 158.137.21.26 on firewall.
2. What does it mean "connections 24" at the first of line? In the normal time, I only see the connections is 0 like the second line of xlate
3. After clear xlate global 158.137.21.26, the first line of xlate table is gone then email server can connect each other. Does is a bug on FWSM? or This is a normal NAT behavior of FWSM.
I have recently purchased six quantities of DIR-655 for my home use. When I registered them these six product, at the end of each registration, I got the message that I will get an email confirming the registration.I didn't get any email. I have checked my email span box and filter too.

Not always, but often enough to be annoying, the connections show as being from the WAN port on the router instead of from the real origin. Is there any way to stop the DIR-655 from doing this?

I can't get the email to work from the router. It worked flawlessly for weeks then stopped working. I verified that the outgoing settings are still valid and that my antivirus is not blocking the email.
View 7 Replies View RelatedUp to this point, all the computers on the network accessed the e-mail server via the Windows name of the PC running the e-mail server. However, one of the PCs will need to access e-mail from the WAN soon as opposed to the LAN, so I switched the server name in Thunderbird (e-mail client) to the actually fully qualified domain name of the server (registered at NO-IP, which redirects to the e-mail server at home).
The problem I am running into is that all the requests sent for IMAP or SMTP are being blocked by the router. That's even though I added port forwarding rules for them. The logs show messages similar to the following:
"Blocked incoming TCP connection request from 216.168.101.68:51291 to 216.168.101.68:143"
It doesn't make a difference if I change the endpoint filtering to "Endpoint Independent" either. Any thoughts of what else I can try? DMZ is not an option.
I have been trying to setup my DIR-655 A4 (Firmware 1.34NA) router to send me email notifications on new firmwares, when the log is full and every Saturday. So I have a schedule already created for sending the emails on Saturday and I also have the option to send notification of new firmware checked. I have had my WR841N for about a year, supplied to me by my WISP. I like the router in terms of facilities but it seems to have one really annoying problem.
The router becomes inaccessible via the webpage after a random period of several days. I have at times associated the issue with occasional loss of radio broadband service but it is not always so. To try and further localise the problem I set the router up to send emails of the log to me every two hours from 17/04/2013 but today for the second time the emails stopped arriving after the 02:29 message and the router is inaccessible again. The router previously locked up with loss of broadband service on 26/04/2013 sometime after emailing a log at 02:41 on that day but had been running without issue from a cold restart at 12:25 as soon as I noticed loss of service.
Today I have not lost broadband service and so even though I am no longer receiving an emailed log or able to access the router via its webpage I am leaving well alone for the present. Some months ago when I originally noticed the web access issue I downloaded and installed the latest firmware TL-WR841N-v7-120201 and I note that there have been no further firmware releases for the v7 model.
My broadband service is delivered via radio link from a local transmitter mast and is reliable with typical download speed of 20-30Mbps and 30-40Mbps upload, seldom if ever affected by weather so I now feel the problem is inherent in the router rather then being the result of some issue affecting broadband service which has been solid since 26/04/2013
Without the log I have no way of knowing what was happening when the router became inaccessible but I attach the last 24 hours of received log below.

I've just successfully set up my network camera and as I was running through the advanced settings, what it wants from me when it comes to setting up images being sent to my e-mail. I've looked up some old threads to get a clue and thus far nothing works. Testing my entries results in "Invalid e-mail setting" 10 out of 10 times.
The setting format I'm trying to use is as follows:

My GMail account is POP Enabled (whatever that is) and I used the username for that e-mail for bother the Sender and Receiver fields, as well as that e-mails username and password.
I'm lost. I bought the camera so I could document my landlord's maintenance people "touring" my apartment while I'm at work, but I wasn't aware having it save screenshots would be so complicated.
DIR-655(A3) 1.33NAb02_HNAP_beta I used to be able to send notifications on log full etc... When my ISP was still allowing outbound email w/opt out of block on port 25. This worked on my old DI-524, and used to work on my DIR-655.In an effort to clamp down on spam my ISP formerly SBC now AT&T began requiring SSL. Secure Authentication is not required. With the ever increasing concern for controlling spam DLink really needs to get in gear and provide the support customers need and back the efforts of ISP's to control spam. Otherwise it's wasted code occupying space. On that note if space is a concern, need space for the code ~ throw SecureSpot out !

On the Outgoing Server (SMTP) Settings window click Edit and verify:

Note: When updating the secure server settings, check SSL checkbox first to update the port setting.
* Under Outgoing mail (SMTP), the box next to server requires a secure connection (SSL) is checked. This works flawlessly with Thunderbird and other mail clients therefore it is clearly a shortcoming of the firmware on the DIR-655 i.e. no SSL? This is totally inadequate.
Router does not accept any email address that start with a number. For example, if you want to set email address 1abcd@efg.com in the from field you will receive the following error: The given FROM address (1abcd@efg.com) is invalid. Same error if you use it in the to field.HW ver. A4 running firmware 1.35NA.

I have a WR842ND with firmware 3.12.22 Build 120424 Rel.39632n. I can't seem to get the mail log emailed out. I've tried hotmail, gmail and ISP email ids. I know these will work as I've done it with my NAS and other routers. When I'm in the System Tools/System Logs/Mail Settings I have authentication enabled and I know I've put in the proper information including mail server outgoing mail names EG. smtp.live.com for hotmail.
I don't see any place to identify a non standard port IE. not port 25, to use. So when I try to send I get the Userid or password is wrong message. Do I have to configure something else.
I cant receive my email through windows live mail since i goit my router (i just got this problem with my hotmail account tho gmail work properly)

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm hosting my email on an Exchange Server 2003 box and have my laptop (Vista Ultimate 32 bit) setup to connect to the exchange server for my email. This works fine through a LinkSys RV042 in one location and a LinkSys WRT54GC in another, but fails through the DIR-615 B2 (2.24 firmware) at home. I'm guessing it's blocking something needed for the MAPI connection.
