I have recently purchased six quantities of DIR-655 for my home use. When I registered them these six product, at the end of each registration, I got the message that I will get an email confirming the registration.I didn't get any email. I have checked my email span box and filter too.
I've setted the unit in BRIDGE MODE, and attached on it 3 LAN devices, 1 PC Desktop, 1 NAS WDBE and 1 HP printer ... OK all config process was right and all my units talk togheter via AP Netgear DNG2000, and so i can use for instance the printer with my laptop too connected in WI-FI N. Now usually, In the night I turn off all my devices (DAP included), and when in the morning I need only the printer used by my laptop, obviously I turn on ROUTER - BRIDGE - PRINTER - LAPTOP but NOT the DESKTOP ... and so the DAP can't reconnect automatically to the router (both the lights AP/BRIDGE are on and fixed) ... I turn on the PC and the BRIDGE reconnect to the world .... BUT I DON'T WANT turn on everytime the desktop !
1) all gears has fixed IPs
2) DHCP server deactivated on the AP main router (DNG2000)
3) no WPS used, only WPA2-PSK (AES) personal keys on all gears
once that DAP-1522 is connected to the router .... all work fine (also when I turn off the DESKTOP).so the workaround is never turn-off the DAP ? I can't believe ... and who will save the energy planet
I have a question about NAT behavior on FWSM 4.0. The problem is email server (Company A) cannot connect to email gateway (Company B) on the outside network and it randomly happen. I got this error from server guy "Detail: xlate has blocked the connection between A’s mail gateway and B’s mail gateway". It work fine again after clear xlate on firewall. [code]
1. How FWSM create xlate table like that? I mean it look like NAT0 for 158.137.21.26 but it doesn't has any nat rule for 158.137.21.26 on firewall.
2. What does it mean "connections 24" at the first of line? In the normal time, I only see the connections is 0 like the second line of xlate
3. After clear xlate global 158.137.21.26, the first line of xlate table is gone then email server can connect each other. Does is a bug on FWSM? or This is a normal NAT behavior of FWSM.
I run a mailserver behind my router. I have port 25 forwarded as a virtual server. Not always, but often enough to be annoying, the connections show as being from the WAN port on the router instead of from the real origin. Is there any way to stop the DIR-655 from doing this?
I deleted an incoming email titled troy from my email inbox by mistake I need to recover this email as it came from my son in bali [URL] edited by moderator: Deleted Email address to prevent Spam
I can't get the email to work from the router. It worked flawlessly for weeks then stopped working. I verified that the outgoing settings are still valid and that my antivirus is not blocking the email.
Up to this point, all the computers on the network accessed the e-mail server via the Windows name of the PC running the e-mail server. However, one of the PCs will need to access e-mail from the WAN soon as opposed to the LAN, so I switched the server name in Thunderbird (e-mail client) to the actually fully qualified domain name of the server (registered at NO-IP, which redirects to the e-mail server at home).
The problem I am running into is that all the requests sent for IMAP or SMTP are being blocked by the router. That's even though I added port forwarding rules for them. The logs show messages similar to the following:
"Blocked incoming TCP connection request from 216.168.101.68:51291 to 216.168.101.68:143"
It doesn't make a difference if I change the endpoint filtering to "Endpoint Independent" either. Any thoughts of what else I can try? DMZ is not an option.
I have been trying to setup my DIR-655 A4 (Firmware 1.34NA) router to send me email notifications on new firmwares, when the log is full and every Saturday. So I have a schedule already created for sending the emails on Saturday and I also have the option to send notification of new firmware checked. Now I have settings, similar to the following, under email settings.
Any way to get the DIR-655 to e-mail logs? I have all the e-mail settings set properly, but when I request the logs to be e-mailed, I never get anything. Its not in a spam folder either.I do have the DIR-655 behind a 2wire router/DSL modem. I don't know if this is the problem, but I can send and receive e-mails from my computer which is connected to the DIR-655, so I don't think that is the problem.
setting up the email notifications. I need the log emailed to me during a certain time of the day and it wont email anything. Even when I am in the log and push the email now, it does nothing. I've tried setting it up through hotmail, lmsn live, and gmail. None of them work. What am I doing wrong or what do I need to do?
I've just successfully set up my network camera and as I was running through the advanced settings, what it wants from me when it comes to setting up images being sent to my e-mail. I've looked up some old threads to get a clue and thus far nothing works. Testing my entries results in "Invalid e-mail setting" 10 out of 10 times.
The setting format I'm trying to use is as follows:
My GMail account is POP Enabled (whatever that is) and I used the username for that e-mail for bother the Sender and Receiver fields, as well as that e-mails username and password.
I'm lost. I bought the camera so I could document my landlord's maintenance people "touring" my apartment while I'm at work, but I wasn't aware having it save screenshots would be so complicated.
DIR-655(A3) 1.33NAb02_HNAP_beta I used to be able to send notifications on log full etc... When my ISP was still allowing outbound email w/opt out of block on port 25. This worked on my old DI-524, and used to work on my DIR-655.In an effort to clamp down on spam my ISP formerly SBC now AT&T began requiring SSL. Secure Authentication is not required. With the ever increasing concern for controlling spam DLink really needs to get in gear and provide the support customers need and back the efforts of ISP's to control spam. Otherwise it's wasted code occupying space. On that note if space is a concern, need space for the code ~ throw SecureSpot out !

On the Outgoing Server (SMTP) Settings window click Edit and verify:
# Server Name - displays smtp.att.yahoo.com. # Port - displays 465.
Note: When updating the secure server settings, check SSL checkbox first to update the port setting.
* Under Outgoing mail (SMTP), the box next to server requires a secure connection (SSL) is checked. This works flawlessly with Thunderbird and other mail clients therefore it is clearly a shortcoming of the firmware on the DIR-655 i.e. no SSL? This is totally inadequate.
As the subject says... Sending logs using "On schedule" option doesn't work. I have my own personal email server I used to test this. When the router time reaches the defined "Start time" nothing happens. I tried both time formats (12h, 24h). The router does NOT initialize the process of sending the email. I see that in my server mail logs. If sent manually from Status -> Logs -> Email now, it works. If sent using "On Log Full" option, also works.
Router does not accept any email address that start with a number. For example, if you want to set email address 1abcd@efg.com in the from field you will receive the following error: The given FROM address (1abcd@efg.com) is invalid. Same error if you use it in the to field.HW ver. A4 running firmware 1.35NA.

I have a WR842ND with firmware 3.12.22 Build 120424 Rel.39632n. I can't seem to get the mail log emailed out. I've tried hotmail, gmail and ISP email ids. I know these will work as I've done it with my NAS and other routers. When I'm in the System Tools/System Logs/Mail Settings I have authentication enabled and I know I've put in the proper information including mail server outgoing mail names EG. smtp.live.com for hotmail.
I don't see any place to identify a non standard port IE. not port 25, to use. So when I try to send I get the Userid or password is wrong message. Do I have to configure something else.

I recently got a new email provider with a webmail. But I can not access the email from my home network. I have tried both my computers so I suspect that it can have something to do with my router. I have also set up the new email account in Outlook and in other networks it works fine, also the webaccess works fine in other networks. It seems that the problem is only related to my home network.i have talked to my ISP provider and they say that all is opened in there network. i have tried to clone the MAC address and that did not solve my problem. I also read the one could change the MTU size from default 1500 to 1440, that did not work either.
When a friend sends me an email with a link to click on when I click on ther link a blank page pops up with the words "404 not found". Why does this happen and is it a big problem. This problem just started to happen a few weeks ago. I never had a problem whenever a friend sent me an email with a link to click on.
Is there any way to change the subject line of the email alerts that are sent? Right now mine are coming with the MAC address, date and time. I would like to remove the MAC address and date and time so that I can sort them into one folder when I sort my email by subject.
I'm hosting my email on an Exchange Server 2003 box and have my laptop (Vista Ultimate 32 bit) setup to connect to the exchange server for my email. This works fine through a LinkSys RV042 in one location and a LinkSys WRT54GC in another, but fails through the DIR-615 B2 (2.24 firmware) at home. I'm guessing it's blocking something needed for the MAPI connection.
I recently set up two cameras. I had set up one for motion detection and email to a gmail account. It seemed to work fine, but then for some reason the motion detection tab didn't show the room like it did before. It doesn't show any picture or anything like it did before, so I couldn't choose the squares to choose the detection area. This is through mydlink account->camera info->advanced settings, and logging in to the camera remotely. So I switched to the other camera, and got it working as of last week. But now, the motion detection doesn't work anymore? It appears to be related to the username/password for the email account. I can no longer send test emails, it says invalid username/password, though the exact same values worked last week, and I didn't change anything. I tried resetting it, then setting it again, but no luck.
the 942L is up and running but I ain't getting no email snapshots nor video clips.I think the menu for setting up the "Video Clip" and "Snapshot" is severely lacking info for users like myself; what to type in the smtp field, the sender or recipient email fields, and especially not username and password. Do I put my email username and password there, or my MyDlink login email and password?
On my new 942l, after 5 days of usage and tinkering with various settings, I cannot get the camera to obey the trigger=motion when configured to send snapshots over email. It does work when configured to send snapshots over email with trigger=always.Interesting enough the trigger=motion works just fine to upload snapshots to FTP. Yes, it uploads the pictures correcty on FTP detecting correctly movements, but it would not send those over email. To me it looks like a bug in the firmware that I have now a 100% repro. Are there any logs you want me to send to you for debugging? And : Is there a known workaround I can apply (reboot, resetup etc)?
Detailed description of the problem:I have setup the camera to upload snapshots to FTP AND send them over email for trigger=motion. This is what works : the snapshots are nicely uploaded on FTP , but not sent over email.Interesting : if I set trigger=always, snapshots will both be uploaded to FTP and sent over email. The moment I switch back to trigger=motion they go only to FTP and not over email.Even more interesting : the video clips work correctly with either email or FTP for trigger=motion.
What could cause this? The email (account, port, password) and FTP settings are definitely not a problem since I see pictures/videos in email or FTP with trigger=always. The motion settings are not a problem either since snapshots upload correctly on FTP when movements are detected. What it apears to be is the software is not reading or obeying correctly a certain combination of settings.I'm wondering if it has to do with the fact that for video clips the "email" and "ftp" are exclusive, but for snapshots they are allowed simultaneously. And somehow the logics get mixed up causing certain combinations of settings to now act out?
What else I tried?I tried many reboots, unplug followed by plug back in and so on.I tried saving and restoring the settings to/from a file hoping that will "reset" something. And I tried many combinations of settings, including changing the order I set and unset hoping a different code path that works will be hit.I did not try a restore to factory defaults since I installed the camera in a hard to reach place and if I restore to factory defaults i need to take it down connect it to a cable in order to redo the wifi settings.
Motion detection is setup - and I can see in the log and on the Live Video "Motion Trigger Indicator" that this part is working. I can also send test-emails, so the smtp is set up correct. In the Event Setup I have a valid server and a motion triggered event with the status ON. But no emails are sent . In the log there is also no indication of the server trying. Am I missing something - or is this not working for anybody?
And - there is no firmware beyond 1.0 for this model as far as I can see.
P.S. I am using a Gmail account for smtp, port 587 and using startTLS to send with,
I am switching out routers. I have some ports forwarded that I know I need to copy down so I can open them up on the new one, but besides that, what else do I need to do/know before replacing the old for the new?Currently, we have a TRENDnet TEW-431BRP. We are replacing it with a Netgear WNR1000.Is the new one good? I didn't set up our home network. Someone from my dads previous business and friend did it for us. So I don't know what exactly was done in the router settings to set everything up.
I figured just copy the ports that needed to be opened in the new router and maybe use the same WEP password for wireless stuff. I need to take note of with this working outer so I can apply it to the new router while I still have a working network with all its setting to refer to before I take the network down.
I upgraded my fireware and now the router don't do anything, I can't even login into it using [URL] which a hard wired connection. How do I get logged into the router to try and put the old version of firmware back on it?
Problem Host A unable to reach Host B, trace route from Host A it reach to Router B but the packet unable reach to the Host B here the 1st level troubleshoot I did
1. Traceroute and ping success from router A to host B
2. Ping success from router B to host B success
I wonder the packet reach to router B but it didnt pass to Host B.
I have cisco sr520 adsl router i have everything set up and it is ok. Internet work but i can not open some web pages In DNS is not problem NAT work fine. When i try some simple adsl gateway the problem websites work correctly. I think the problem is on sr520 router.
i bought a Linksys E2000 router. When i went to set it up, i noticed that the old router has a phone line connected to it. When i looked at my E2000, I noticed that it didn't have a phone port in it (Rj11). Not sure what to do. Would it be possible to buy a Rj11 to Rj45 converter and just use that to connect the phone line to my router?
I have a Linksys wrt110, and we didnt have a password on it for a while, i went and changed it so we had a password, now i have put a password on it, and now it wont let me connect any device to the internet, checked iphone and mac, nothing will work.
I recenly installed LMS 4 on a windows 2008 R2 system , I didnt change the default configuration of windows or ciscoworks.I just added devices and configured basic things on the LMS system .when I open ciscoworks on the server itself it starts a browser session on http port 1741 and then changes automatically to https even though the default config is browser security disabled on ciscoworks.I try to open a browser session on a mgmt station to the cisco server , it didnt work in https ( I did get the login screen but couldnt log on , probablly something to do with the certificate ) , so I open http on port 1741 and it worked , I was able to log in .After a few Hours for some strange reason I didnt have access any more from the mgmt station not in http nor in https , the only way was to access it from the server itself.I went and changed the default setting of the secure browser on LMS 4 hopping that would work , I was asked to restart the ciscoworks service for the changes to take affect , I tried to restart it but it was unsuccesful so I restart the whole server. when it came up ciscoworks didnt work most services didnt start ( like the web server ,tomcat and all the manual services and ciscoworks deamon)
I am facing two issues in BGP both the topology and Config files.Because the link between Vail and Telluride runs iBGP, both routers will learn about the networks in AS 300 and AS 400 through native BGP only and both AS's do reach each other. Both routers are also running OSPF with Aspen and BGP routes are redistributed into OSPF domain. Now, Aspen knows about the networks in AS 300 and AS 400. Now suppose the link between Vail and Telluride fails, both AS 300 and AS 400 can't reach each other anymore. The only solution to this is to redistribute OSPF routes to BGP on Vail and Telluride. But when i did this, only routes with "O" learned by Tahoe and Alta. In other words, Tahoe sees only 192.168.1.220, 192.168.1.196 and Alta sees only the same routes. Why the redistribution from OSPF to BGP didn't advertise the O E2 routes?
This actually was discussed before but i still can't get it. It is not an actual issue. It is about "Syncronization". I know that we've said many times to turn on Sync. when we do redistribution from BGP to an IGP to make sure that the routes are installed correctly in the IGP routing table. However, as you notice in the configuration, i didn't enable Sync. on Vail and Telluride for a long time and redistribution still works fine.
