I'm using a Dell computer CPU i7 8 gig of ram. It is wired in to the router. Why does it take so long to log into the router and bring up the different pages in the settings. I have never seen a router take so long. I have not updated the firmware version 2.02NA. I have not upgraded it yet. oh I have a cable connection. When I surf the web the pages come-up fast.
View 13 RepliesI needed to immediately set a schedule and block IPs, these pages are built into the router.It took forever for the pages to load it took 30 minutes to navigae 5 pages. Every time I try it.Router is good and signal is excellent but the admin router pages to configure are frustratingly slow.As a techie it is anoying, as a customer getting support by the hour spend more on a faster better quillity router were the work can be done in 1/20th of the time it takes on this router.I'd say I have a dud but once setup the router is a great performer if you do not need to admin the router further?

I am using IE8 on vista x64, and have the issue on all pc's on the network. Is there a work around for this?

I started configuring with cd but i couldn`t get past the step where it should verify if cables are plugged in , so I did it manually. Some pages won`t load , internet speed is slow ( Both wireless and lan speed ) . I am using a PPPOE connection , I even got my ISP to check my settings, and he said it was alright but it reduces my speed by a lot. Usually I download with 1 MB/s with the router on wi-fi I hardly get 50 kb/s and on lan max is 100 kb/s.

The version of Twonky Media server that was bundled with this router was old to begin with, and now we are stuck with it? I tried the E4200 but it just kept spinning my drive that's parked in a ThermalTake BlackX, at least the 3000 doesn't do that, but when can we expect some new firmware, it's been 8 months. I used to love Linksys, but with this kind of support I may have to move to a different brand, and I bet I am not alone. it doesn't break the E3000 like you broke the 4200.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Internet Explorer will not save settings/changes to highlight color of viewed pages in search results. It will not highlight search pages that have been viewed at all. I have Internet Explorer 9 & Windows 7 - 32 bit on a Dell Inspiron 1545. I have uninstalled & reinstalled Internet Explorer 9. Above mentioned application did not work on either Internet Explorer 8 or 9. I have cleared all cookies, deleted all temp. internet files, optimized disc space twice & done a Full scan w/ my Norton. I go to color setting under Internet Explorer make the changes & hit each "OK", but the changes don't take. The "Apply" button is recessed and is not functioning. This has been the problem for approximately the last week and 1/2, before that color highlighting function was working. This color highlighting feature of viewed pages does work in Mozilla fire fox, but that is not what I want to use.

I would like to be able to access my DSL Modem's http setup screens from my networked computers via my DIR-655 (rev B) router - but I do not know how to get the router to route to the WAN port.
At first, I had my DSL Modem's LAN IP at 192.168.0.1 and my DIR-655 at 192.168.1.1 and the rest of my home network at 192.168.1.xxx; because I had read on a forum that having the modem on a different subnet prevented potential routing problems. When I pointed my web browser to 192.168.0.1 - it would just timeout (I kind of expected that).
Now (willing to try anything), I have my DSL Modem's LAN IP at 192.168.0.2 and my DIR-655 at 192.168.0.1 and the rest of my home network at 192.168.0.xxx (DHCP range is set to assign hosts from 64 to 254). When I point my web browser to 192.168.0.2 - it still just times out.
The DSL Modem is setup in transparent bridge mode. And everything else is working well with the home network.
How can I get the DIR-655 to pass/route my http connection to the DSL modem?
Just bought myself an 825. I've got it set up and working, but how do I prevent wireless users from accessing the setup pages for the router?
I only wish wired access to the setup pages. I'm used to doing this on my old linksys, but can't find the setting on the new router.
I'm connecting to the internet via ADSL. The modem is in our living room and has a DIR-655 connected to it. Also connected are an IPTV set-top box and an Xbox 360. In our office room we have 2 computers and a Buffalo LinkStation hard drive connected by wire to a DAP-1522 which is working as a bridge for the wireless network created by the DIR-655. The reason for this configuration is that the set-top box refused to work with IPTV through the wireless bridge. Before we got IPTV, the bridge was in the living room and was primarily used for Xbox, while the modem was in the office and allowed all desktop PCs to connect by wire.
Ever since we've had the desktop PCs connected via the bridge, surfing has been difficult. Download speeds are good, but very often webpages simply refuse to load. The browser just says "Connecting to [internet address here]. For example, I might log on to Facebook, have the front page load and then I try to open a picture someone has uploaded, but nothing happens. Clicking links, nothing happens. Clicking anywhere, nothing happens. Put a new address in the address bar, nothing happens. It just tries to connect the addresses, but won't.After waiting a while, or restarting the browser, it might work again for a while.
Is it my new modem, the DIR-655 or the DAP-1522? All devices get their IPs from the ADSL modem to ensure proper networking between the devices. Streaming from the NAS to the Xbox is flawless.
I have a DAP-1513 unit but there is no section for that unit on the forum.Is is possible to access the configuration pages over the wireless connection. After setting up access to the main router via WPS, I can access the configuration pages for a few minutes after I "power cycle" the unit.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded my DIR-655 to firmware version 2.10NA , 17, Oct, 2012.Ever since the upgrade, on a wired connection the router will occasionally not serve pages. This shows up as a DNS error, stating the DNS lookup failed. If I wait a bit and reload the page, it will sometimes resolve itself. If I bypass the router and plug directly into the modem, the problem goes away completely.This is happening on my MacBook Pro, OS X 10.7.5, any browser (I use Chrome mostly, but also Safari and Firefox have the same issue). This is not happening on my Linux laptop which I use wirelessly, or my iPhone or any of my wireless clients, though the same MacBook occasionally has trouble connecting if I DO try to use it wirelessly (I receive a connection timeout and cannot log on). I'm not certain at this point if the trouble is with the router or the computer, but it only began happening (and happened immediately) after I installed the most recent firmware.
My security setup, if for any reason it matters, is WPA2 with MAC address filtering.
For a few days now, my internet has been as the title suggests. A speed test has shown my download and upload speeds to be about 0.06 mbps each. Every once in a while, I try a diagnose and repair, and occasionally I get one of either "Reset your TCP/IP settings" or "Improve your TCP/IP performance", but neither works. I've tried resetting my modem and have done a system restore to no avail. Offline performance is good, RAM is in good shape, etc. AVG hasn't found any viruses or spyware. It's an ethernet cable, by the way.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo just recently my Internet has been running a lot slower than normal at different times of the day (completely random, could be fine for hours then just turns slow). I know it's not the Internet itself, since it's only happening on my computer, and none others in the house - and I'm far from capped. I've run AVG, Spybot & Malwarebytes' scans and have found no infections of any kind. I've run TCP Optimizer and used the "reset to windows default settings" feature, which also hasn't worked one bit. I've tried different Ethernet cables and different plugs in the modem and no improvement.
View 8 Replies View RelatedOk, so I recently upgraded to a Linksys E3200. I am trying to get the QoS to work properly. I know that it is supposed to prioritize network traffic, so that if I have busy traffic but I am playing an online game, it should keep my gaming from stuttering while slowing other traffic down.
The problem is that every time I enable QoS everything slows down dramatically. I had a 200MB download that was going to take 5hrs with QoS enabled, that took 10min with QoS disabled. And with QoS enabled I can't even watch a youtube video without it pausing to buffer every 10 seconds. And that was the only PC/device using the network at the time. Again turning off the QoS WMM option solved the problem. I have noticed this problem with multiple routers and brands and usually just disable QoS as soon as I set up a router, however I heard that I won't get the full benefit of 300Mbps without QoS enabled.
I don't have any special Voice over IP needs, or video streaming etc. and I rarely am using multiple network devices at the same time. Is there really any reason I should enable QoS? Also I never really play with the settings for QoS, I just figure that since it comes enabled by default it should work for the average consumer.
I use to use 2 routers, one for me and my dad, another for my brother and sister. We decided to get rid of the other router, and make our cisco E2000 our main router, but, everything on the router settings got removed so we had to reset it up. I remember reading an advanced setting guide on making my wireless speed go from 13.5MBPS to 216 MBPS, but i forgot what the settings was in advance settings.
View 7 Replies View RelatedIm trying to setup a site to site VPN using a Cisco 877, problem is we have no ADSL presentation, we've just been given an Ethernet line to use from another client in the building, If i plug my laptop into the port and use the External IP information given i can use the internet and ping the other VPN just fine, if i place my blank config 877 into the port and set up VLAN 10 to use the same IP information, it cant even ping the local gateway? The port on the router is in VLAN 10 like it should be and the interfaces are all up, the router can ping its local VLAN 10 ip address.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've attached my ASA's config. I can't bring the VPN up by pinging from the ASA but the VPN will come up when someone pings from behind the ISA server. So the problem seems to be routing/NAT on my ASA because my pings aren't being directed out the tunnel. The VPN in question has 64.106.x.x as the peer and AES 256/SHA for phase 1 and 2.

i am in the proceed of an implementation and configuration, but i am facing a problem on the interfaces, where i am not able to bring the interfaces up/up and always down/down.
i check the fiber patch cords and the other SFP on the switch WS-C3560E-12D and it is working fine. i also reverse the fibers pins and nothing works
i need only to get the interface to be up/up. i also checked all the hardware compatibility matrix, IOS XE, the SPA are all online (show platforms).... where all seems to be ok and compatible.
all what is needed is to give the interface ,for example, tengig0/0/0 and ip address and no shut and it should go up/up.
One more thing, the XFP is not giving a red light laser, and in the show interface tengig0/0/0 give media type is unknown.
I got a new DIR-825 router and when I try to change settings such as the date and time or try to apply web filters my changes won't save.

I can connect to the router, but for some reason, it will not get any network settings. When I check the status/device info/WAN section, it just shows:

why I can't save any router settings? I get a momentary disconnect followed by a brief redirect message and then I get kicked back to the router log on page. This just started happening.

And I don't have to use "ip unnumbered <interface>" either. But what good is a tunnel interface with no address? Can you bridge them or something?

What I hope to accomplish is that using a IP SLA that the IPSEC tunnel will only be brought up IF the normal WAN connection is not responding. My thoughts were to route the traffic that needed to come back to corporate through a loopback interface but I havent found a way to do that.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to bring up two t1 and bundle them into a multilink on a 3845 on one end and a 3725 on the other end. On the 3845 I have installed two VWIC-2MFT-T1-DI and on the 3725 I have installed two VWIC-2MFT-T1 and a 1DSU/CSU-T1-V2.
For some reason I'm able to bring up the T1's on the DSU/CSU WIC. When I try to connect the T1 on the other WICs, on the 3845 I see SLIPs and Interface Resets however on the 3725 there is no errors however I still see UP DOWN.

I'm trying to change some network settings, but the router is unresponsive when I try to connect to its ip address. If I reset the router it opens a 20 second window where I can log in, but then goes unresponsive. I have encountered this on my main pc connected wireless, and duplicated the results when wired in with my netbook.
