My belkin router F7D4401 is not being recognize by my desktop whereas i can connect to the same without a problem using my laptop. The belkin router management software shows the router as connected when i joined it my laptop but the desktop always says not connected.
View 5 RepliesMy Dell destop with Windows 7 all of a sudden doesn't seem to recognize my router, yet my laptop works fine (which I'm using now). After reading other posts, I reset the router with no results, used a new cable from the Belkin to the computer, changed ports, checked connections, restarted; nothing. When I do an ipconfig, a small window pops open and goes off before I can make anything out. I undestand Belkin's IP address is 192.168.2.1 and I'm showing that my IPv4DHCP Server is that, as is my DNS server. The IPv4WINS server shows nothing.

I bought a new router for faster internet speed - Netgear N600. I now have internet on the two laptops, the Kindle Fire HD & my Iphone. I cannot access the internet on the desktop. It shows that I am connected to an unidentified network but I can't get online. The techs I talked to said it's a problem with my computer but I didn't have that problem before.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a belkin n300 wireless router that i know works because the ps3 connects to it but when i tried to add my desktop to the wireless router i used the installation cd to download onto the computer (which i was then told by belkin tech support that the cd was only for extra stuff like printers..) when i installed the cd it said not reccommended to install because it wasnt windows xp authorized but i did this any ways.. i have also been looking online for diferent things to do to try and get my computer to connect to the router so i have changed things on the computer that i have no idea how to backtrack and take it all back..i tried rrstoring my system to an earlier date and it wont do it. now my computer wont even pick up on a wireless connection.. i then tried to connect directly to the modem (comcast box) and i still couldnt get on internet!

My computer, first, will not run the software CD automatically; I have to find it and double-click on it. Then, after the drivers are supposedly installed and I restart according to the instructions, my computer is unable to find them when I plug in the adapter. Additionally, when I try to start the driver program myself, it refuses to go. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver software four times and I have gotten the following same results every time. I work from home and connect to my office computer through Remote Desktop Connection.I purchased a Roku2 video streaming player and bought a Belkin N150 wireless router in order to get the signal from my desktop computer out to the living area where the Roku is located. The connection with the Roku is perfect. However, my remote desktop connection now disconnects constantly and internet browsing on the local computer is very slow and choppy.The configuration I used is 1) Belkin ethernet wire from Belkin to back of modem 2) modem ethernet wire from Belkin to computer.If I remove the Belkin and put everything back the way it was, all is fine ... but, of course, we then have no Roku.

But I also have my desktop pc attached to the router as a wired connection and the down load speed on the desktop pc has decreased dramatically. for example it took 10 minutes to download a 30 sec video.Before I installed the Belkin router I had no downloading issues. Previously I had a Netgear router and it was working no problems at all.I have port forwarded (virtual server on Belkin) port 3389 TCP to the servers IP address.I can get Remote desktop connection to work when I am within my LAN by just typing the computers name.However when I try to connect via the IP address, as I would if I were away from home, then I get the message that says "remote desktop cannot connect for one of these reasons
1) remote access not enabled (it is because it worked before)
2) remote computer is turned off (no it isn't)
3) remote computer is no available" (yes it is cause can connect from LAN)
Turned off static IP for my server and let the router assign IP, and changed the IP address in the port forward, same, no connection.Double, triple checked my IP address, as this obviously changed when I plugged in the new router.Have updated to latest firmware for router and NIC.

The IP address is correct and signal is real strong, excelent according to PC. I put in the security KEY and it connects and says it's ok but no internet.I've tried every thing. When I plug in the ethernet cable everything works fine on line. With Belkin you can let windows start the wireless input or Belkin. I tried both. No luck. I'm sending you this over my ethernet cable. Need Tech support.I have another desktop with Belkin wireless card and it is working fine . I did try to troubleshoot useing it and lost internet on it and had to do a restore to get it back. So afraid to mess with it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having this weird issue with my internet in which my desktop is having inconsistent internet connection, but when I check on my laptop (same room) it shows no problem.I have ATT Uverse, and my desktop's adapter is Belkin N750 DB Wireless-N Dual-Band USB Adapter, while my laptop has some adapter (I don't know the brand, but I know it's 802.11g.Also, my Desktop has much better specs than my laptop. My desktop has i7 intel processor, 4GB RAM (x4 total of 16) and 60 GB SSD boot drive and 2 TB hard drive for all the other softwares. My laptop on the other hand is a Sony Vaio with 8GB RAM and 500 GB hard drive.When going through these inconsistent internet connection phase, my desktop can drop to not even a megabyte per second, while my laptop may be at 8~10 MB download speed, but a tthe same time the ping on my desktop is around 5, but my laptop shows around 17.

After installation, my system was able to connect to my wi-fi network without any problem. However, due to the power going off at my home, an automatic update on Windows 8 got interrupted.
Since then, it has caused a ton of problems, which caused me to finally re-install Windows 8. Now, however, it does not recognize the wireless card and its drivers, and does not let me install from the CD, or through any alternate sources ?
I can't connect to the internet on my desktop pc after I reinstalled windows. I have linksys wrt320n router and I can connect to it only by wi-fi. When I try to install router's setup wizard or network magic - it writes that my computer is not connected to router though it is connected in the same way as it was before. In the LOCAL AREA CONNECTION it is also written that network cable is unplugged...I also tryed to connect just internet cable without router - PC also didn't react. I am having a problem with the DIR-615 router seeing my printer on a wired network. The printer is a Brother HL-2170W (also capable of a wireless connection). All other network PC's connect okay. I have attempted both wired and wireless connection procedures that came with the printer with no luck. The DIR-615 router does not see the printers IP address. How can I get the router to recognize the printer?

Our router was infected with DNSchanger, so I sought to reset the router and update the firmware. I reset the router and it no longer recognized the internet connection. My router TL-MR3420 does not connect to my 3G modem. I did all the steps according to the router configuration. Despite of that, once it is on the status it doesn�t recognize my modem, HUAWEI, model number E1820.
I have a Speedstream 4300 modem in bridge mode and a linksys WRT54G2 router set to PPPoE like I was instructed. On the status page of my router underneath the PPPoE setting it has IP, Subnet Mask, and Gateway all set to 0. The only advice I was able to obrain from my ISP was to powercycle the router and modem, which I did and no change.

Both drives report themself with 2 devices under Windows 7: 1x USB storage decive + 1x CD readonly device?
1TB harddisk partitioned into 2, an HFS+ and an exFAT. Could the exFAT partition be the reason? But I do have an HFS+ partition and it's the 1st partition on this disk.
