EchoLife HG520s - ADSL / Internet Keeps Going Off?
Jul 9, 2012
my ADSL/Internet is going off constantly. I have had this problem on and off for years but it has generally went away within time so I guess it's something to do with my provider. Sometimes it will just go off once, but sometimes it will go off 5 times in a row. It also sometimes happens when somebody phones the home phone. I am with talktalk and my router is EchoLife HG520s. I have an extension cable running form the master phone socket, then a microfilter for the phone and the ADSL cable (for my router).
I moved into a new apartment in Mexico City a month ago. The internet, already installed when I moved in, comes through a device called a Huawei EchoLife HG8427. For the first month of my residence, the internet worked perfectly. Suddenly, on a recent day, I was no longer able to connect to the internet, though I was still connected to the network. This problem has persisted for some time now.I have tried just about everything that I know how to, including restarting the modem, fiddling with my IPv4/6 settings, disabling/enabling my connection, disabling my firewall, ipconfic/flushdns/registerdns, ipconfig/reset/renew, and probably a few other things that I have now forgotten.
My computer, a Toshiba NB505 running Windows 7 Starter 32-bit, has no problem connecting to the internet via other networks. Ping tests show that I am indeed connected to the network and have no OS problems. I do not have any McAffee software (I read somewhere that this was a problem for some people). I cannot do a hard reset because the modem does not belong to me and serves several other people living here (this is sort of a short-stay guesthouse). This afternoon, the map on my network and sharing center briefly showed a successful internet connection (for about 10 minutes). During that time, however, I was still unable to connect to the internet and when I restarted my computer, it was back to showing a broken connection.Windows IP Configuration
I have BSNL optical fiber broadband connection with Huawei EchoLife HG850a ONT. I want to configure my ONT to control internet access of any individual system which is connected to this ONT by switch.
i got the echolife HG520b with this weird problem that's bugging me a lot nowadays which is disconnection. The internet light bulb always go off and the internet cuts every 5-10 minutes. I've tried to reboot with factory settings but it didn't work.
I have an Echolife router, HG532, connected as my main router. It is connected using cable and I use it for wifi too. The signal in other rooms is very weak and I was wondering if it's possible to use a spare router that I have, Echolife HG521, to extend the network coverage?
i have a problem with my adsl line connected on a HWIC-ADSL on router 2901 it was working good until yesterday the atm interface is down but the interface dialer is up .i connected this line into home adsl modem and the line is working good?
I'm going to combine 2 512 kbps ADSL line in my PC. i know that it would be much better to get a 1 MB ADSL connection...but the problem is where i live now there is not better speed than this! Well i have a PC with 2 LANs - 2 phone lines - 2 ADSL modems - as far as i learned from Google , by no means it is possible to combine them to have 1 MB data rate but it is possible for example IDM would works with one 512 and another program with another 512..!! And load balancing is the only solution for this which it needs a special routers ! it is somehow difficult for me to provide one ..!! so my question is :
1- Is there any other solution for combining this 2 lines?! I heard something about teaming. 2- Is it possible to use load balancing by software? 3- How about the efficiency and ping time?
I can connect to this router via Lan and have no problems.Via Wi Fi it connects but will not communicate with the router or see find the router vias ip address..I have turned on auto ip finding in network settings for Lan and for Wireless but wi fi still does not allow access to internet. It just says local only.when i go to Command prompt and do ipconfig /all it says all DHCP enabled are off!!
if I have made a simple mistake with my config. It has authenticated ok and been assinged an Internet IP address from the ISP but the clients can not connect ping any internet address nor can the router.
I have a Wimax internet connection via an ethernet cable from a small roof top receiver dish. Inside the house the cable (RJ45) is plugged into the POE slot on one side of a small electrically powered black box, and from the other side, an ethernet cable (RJ45), connects to my PC. I want to share my internet connection with my HTC mobile and would prefer to make use of an existing Belkin 54g ADSL2 modem/wireless router (Belkin F5D7633) if I can. As this router's incoming port is specifically for ADSL my internet RJ45 cable can not plug into it. I have been advised that I can still utilise the router part of the Belkin though, using my PC as an access point, by plugging the ethernet cable from the PC side of the little black box into LAN 1 on the router, then joining the PC to LAN 2 of the router with another ethernet cable.I did not alter the configuration of the Belkin at all (having reset factory defaults beforehand), mainly because although I could access the internet from my PC and my mobile, I could not access the IP address of the router, presumably because the properties of the local area connection on my PC remained unchanged with the IP address (172.168.1.149), Subnet Mask (255.255.255.0), Default Gateway (172.168.1.1) and 3 DNS addresses (172.168.1.1) (10.30.0.1) (8.8.8.8) as they were before hooking up the Belkin. The IP address the mobile received through WIFI on connecting to the Belkin was 172.168.1.148
I was not unduly concerned about not being able to access the configuration of the router as everything was working as I had hoped it would and even when I powered off my PC I still had internet access on my mobile. On rebooting the PC, however, I found that the router changed the DNS addresses on the PC to 2 only, both identical (192.168.2.1) and the IP on the mobile was allocated 192.168.2.2 Although I could still access the internet on my PC, I no longer had access from my mobile although the WIFI connection to the Belkin showed as being 'excellent'. When I did a 'repair' of my internet connection, hoping to revert to a fully operative state, the PC configuration changed again as follows: IP address becomes that of the router (192.168.2.1), Subnet Mask (255.255.255.0), Default Gateway (192.168.2.1), 2 DNS addresses (192.168.2.1) and the IP address allocated to my mobile remains (192.168.2.2) This configuration means I have no internet access from either PC or phone, but CAN access the router configuration. I restored a usable operating state by unplugging the power from the router, transposing the cables in the LAN ports on the router (swapped cable from LAN1 to LAN2 and vice versa), turned off WIFI on mobile and waited a minute or two. When I powered the router back up and switched on mobile WIFI again, everything was restored to the original working state and I have, once again, access to internet on both PC and mobile. It is very frustrating, however, to keep performing this ritual and I wonder if any of you more technically minded, know a way to work around this, perhaps by manually changing the configuration of PC or router?
I have a wire ADSL connection and I use ADSL WiFi enabled router for distribute my internet connection with in my other devices (on my home network). When I downloading large files (more than 30MB) over the internet using my WiFi connection, my connection drop several times. However if I exchange large files within my WiFi network (with in home network via WiFi), my WiFi connection not drop (I can exchange 6GB files without any issue). Why is that? Is it my router issue or my ADSL connection issue? Most of the time after I lost internet connection, i can see my WiFi connectivity standby, it's not disconnect. However some time it completely disconnect. After I lost the connection (standby or completely disconnected) it again automatically connect.
I face this issue if i download large files on the internet, via the WiFi, if i download large files on internet using Ethernet cable, my connection not drop, it's stable. I use default wireless settings on my router? I use open WiFi connection.
We are using a ADSL 827h in one of our sites. This router has worked fine until a month ago. Users are losing access to the internet overnight. The VPN tunnel stays connected, users are unable to get to any outside websites, i.e. Yahoo, google. We unplug the router and it comes back fine; until the next time.
I have this adsl wireless router but my internet connection only has RJ45 directly connected to my PC. My questions is how can I use my ADSL wireless router with this kind of internet connection.. because I really want to make my connection wireless..
I own a Broadcom BCM5354-based wireless router (Tomato 1.27 flashed) and an Aztech DSL605E modem. When both are powered up, the wireless router sometimes doesn't get internet access because the modem automatically logs itself in. I have to plug the modem cable to my laptop, manually disconnect the modem, and plug the modem cable back to the router to fix it.
I have an ADSL connection using a wireless DLink modem 2730U I want to share my internet with my neighbour as limited speed and limited traffic. How can I do this? Is it possible as wireless?
I have a Zoom adsl x6 model 5590 wireless router. I recently tried to update its firmware by following the instructions from the manufacturers site. Everything seemed to go correctly, but I am now unable to connect to the internet or my routers http address. My router now has a red power light along with a solid green light for the wlan and dsl.
The PPPoE connection can be successfully established only if the PC dials up, but not if the router replaces the PC to do so.Both the PC and the router are identically configured for this purpose, i.e. using the same ADSL dial-up account(usr/passwd pair). As a whole, we can exclude any wrong configuration on the router itself.
recently i got a dlink dir 615 router from a friend. i'm using adsl modem now. i want to connect the modem to the router so that i have a wireless at home for my laptop and iphone. i have follow the step in the router manual but it did not work. i just cannot conect to the router page through the 192.168.0.1 i am using windows vista home basic.
I have a modem/router at one end of my house, but the WiFi doesn't reach the other end of the house (where I have my other PC). If I bought a second modem/router and plugged it in next to my computer, would that work?and if so, would I have to turn one modem off to use the other?
Customer needs to send tagged traffic from various DSL sites (DSL is with us) and wants to be able to see vlan tags in the core. Essentially each site will have a vlan tag associated with it.
My new ADSL line is now enabled, I can finally use my Netgear DM111Pv2 to use to the Internet. My ISP has told me a big surprise : I don't need to use a login and a password to connect to the Internet, then I must use the RFC 2684 bridging mode.
It works pretty fine on the ADSL modem's side, but I've spent one night trying to figure out how to connect to the Internet through this modem. I only have a Fonera 2.0n and a computer running Gentoo Linux.I've been trying to use the br2684ctl utility with brctl on my Gentoo, first I've configured my kernel in that way: [code] The brctl utility keeps telling me "Invalid argument" each time I try to add the nas0 interface into my bridge, I'm honestly hoping I'm doing wrong.
I've been following this README carefully and this tutorial on setting up a PPPoE connection with Gentoo, but the PPPoE interface just tries to start, and nothing special related to PPP happens, I can't see the interface when I do ifconfig. So, I'm asking you if there's something huge I've been missing since the beginning ! Maybe I should wait to buy a new router fully supporting the RFC2684 bridging mode, but I'm more interested in setting up this mode on my Fonera 2.0n and even my Raspberry Pi !
I have D-link 2640U ADSL2+ modem. Now I have 12Mbps / 1Mbps internet connection. I am planning to move to 24Mbps /1Mbps intenet connection and I want to know if this modem is enough. What is the best modem so I get the full 24Mbps[CODE]
Im just wondering if it would be possible to emulate an adsl connection on a server. What i mean by this is if we were testing a vpn or something they would have to connect through this box on the network and act as if it were a ppoe connection. Has any ever done anything of a similar nature? Is it possible at all?
I have 2 routers on 1 the internet work fine on the other the internet not work and I see this when I start diagnostic "Testing ADSL Synchronization---fail"
My Internet speed slows down from about 4mpbs to 1mpbs approx until I reboot after which it runs fine until it slows down again.I have a Netgear DGN2000 router, and have tried restoring to factory settings and using it that way - made no difference.
I want to do this connection:-DSL cable--> Modem --> Wireless Router --> use WiFi on my mobile. Is it okay or I need a PC in between????? I don't have PC with WiFi Connectivity.....
