Mar 26, 2011I have some tunnels which terminate to my home router. I'm allowing the other ends of the tunnels to use my voice setup. I need to prepend *67 to all called numbers which don't originate from my house. I don't want people calling my home number based on the caller-id number they see when someone across one of the tunnels calls.
So if 5008 calls 212-333-4444 I want it sent to my provider as *672123334444. If 5001 calls a number, I don't want it touched. Can I do this? I can use IOS or CUCM here.

May 1, 2013What would be an acceptable number of wireless connections to a WRVS4400N router? I'm working in the IT department for a new company, and one of the offices complains that using VoIP and doing large file transfers are constantly a problem. They are all connecting wirelessly to the WRVS4400N. I managed to vpn in and connect to the web interface of the router, and it shows that there are 30 devices connected wirelessly to it. However, when people plug into the wall jack VoIP and data seem to work fine.I can't find any info on what a best practice would be for number of wireless connections to the router. There's no Vlans setup on it from what I can tell, so that may be my next step, to separate data and voice traffic.

Setting Up A Single Wireless Network Across A Number Of Houses?
Jul 27, 2012As the title states, I am want to set up a single ADSL connection, using 1 router across 6 apartments. The apartments are 2 floors and from the top they look like this The Router is on Apartment 1. Between apartment 1 and 2, 3 and 4, and 5 and 6 is a normal cement wall. Between 3 and 4 is Cement and stone, so are the outside walls of each house. I was thinking of doing it simple and using 3-4 range extenders such as the Linksys RE1000. From what i searched on the internet, and what the documentation states, the signal will get bottle-necked for the last house due to the RE1000 giving half of the bandwidth. Quote from Linksys FAQ: Quote: 7. Can I add more than one RE1000 to my existing wireless network? Yes. But since the RE1000 only gets half of the wireless signal from your main router or access point, adding multiple range extenders can provide you with even lower signal, thus, giving lesser bandwidth to your wireless computers or devices that you are going to connect to these additional extenders.So, what would be an optimal solution to this? Should I go ahead and install the RE1000's? Is there something better that i can do?

Jul 15, 2012Just upgraded my system. I am using D-Link 615 as access point hardwired LAN to LAN to ActiveTec MI424WR N capable Verizon Fios Wireless Modem/Router. The Fios Router is set up with WPA2 security. Intend on having three 615s as Access Points off of ActiveTec. Have a number of wireless devices accessing the network. Have followed instructions from manual to use 615 as Access Point, disabling UPnP and the DNCP Server function on the 615. My ActiveTec IP address is 192.168.1.1 and I changed the 615 to 192.168.1.50. I can type this IP address in my browser and get to the 615 set-up.
I have tried a couple different options in naming the SSID on the 615 set-up. If I name the SSID on the 615 the same as the ActiveTec router, when I go to Connect to a wireless signal where there is overlap, there are two signals that one can connect to, named the same SSID, the Fios is WPA2 secured and the 615 is not. Shouldn't these all be on one SSID? It seems that I have two different networks (different SSIDs) instead of one (rather than the 615 simply serving as an extension of the Fios router as a wired remote access point) with different security protocols (WPA2 and None). The SSID name almost seems meaningless. If I name the 615 SSID the same as the Fios router SSID or something different, I still have the option of selecting one SSID that is secure and one that isn't. If I try to connect to the SSID name associated with the 615 I can get on without providing a password.How do I make it so that one can walk around and go from one area to the next and seamlessly move to the best signal? I did read to select different sets of channels for each access point.

Dec 24, 2012I'm working with a Cisco Unified CM 7.0There are sevral ip phones in the place.ach phone has a 3 digit extension tied to it. no matter where on the network that phone is plugged in that phone has the same extension. This is a problem because one phone (extension 134) is damaged and was swapped out with a phone that has extension 102. I want that phone that has extension 102 to have the extension 134 instead.So that is my problem. I must say I am merely a CCNA and I have no idea about this voip stuff. I thought it was a simple log in to the server and make a single change. boy was I wrong. I clicked on call routing, then I clicked on Directory number and I got a list of all the DNs. I then click on extension 102 and 134. I noticed the MAC of the respective phones was in a field titled associated devices. I then dissociated both phones thinking I could just associate the appropriate phones next. as soon as I hit save that entire section disappeared. Now those extension aren't tied to any phone and once more those phones now have no extensions. I am freaking out because I can't undo this. I've clicked on literally every single option inside this server. I am in way over my head. I will include a picture to illestrate what I am talking about.
