Sharing Is Lost After Reboot?
Mar 10, 2013I have 2 PC's. Main and 2nd. I share my media folder from Main to 2nd PC.I also have 3 users on the main PC and after each reboot, any user I choose has lost it's sharing settings.So I end up recreating the sharing with my 2nd PC every time again and again.I use Win7 64 bit with latest updates.

Cisco Switches :: VLAN Membership Lost After Reboot SG300-20
Aug 31, 2012I have two Cisco SG300-20 switches. Both of them are configured in L3 mode. They have several VLAN's configured.
When I reboot my switches some VLAN membership settings are lost! I have already saved the settings over and over before rebooting, and even tried to save it to the backup memory and so on. Say for example I have changed port 9 to 14 from VLAN 101 to VLAN 105. I save the configuration, reboot the switch. And then the changes are lost. This is a big problem, because servers and my iSCSI network loose connectivity. They already have the latest firmware. This issue was there three firmwares before.
This issue pop-ups when I have a power loss, or I need to reboot/shutdown them manually. It may be off-topic but I also have the feeling that the performance of the switches goes down during uptime. A reboot solves the performance issue. I don't have a performance benchmark, but I can notice it on the performance transfer rate between clients and servers.

Oct 28, 2011I have the latest flash installed. I am making use of all the options available to this router. USB drive set up as a file server, both radio bands have devices which attach. All wifi security is wpa2 with a complex key string. Also have pc’s attached to all lan ports. I also have all the wireless devices registered on the mac address filter for access set to enable/allow. I have a total of 9 mac address in the list. One lan device is on the DMZ. One address is reserved. Not sure what other details you need.Router is used for online gaming, video streaming, and typical internet browsing.

my problem is from time to time that the connection is lost there is no connection with the router and the only solution is to turn off and on the cisco 1900 router and the connection will be back.
do we need to configure the routers and switches? what do you need to configure?
Can't Renew Ip Address Until Reboot
Jun 7, 2011i'm running xp sp3, but it is not completely updated. (i was offline for about 8 months and missed tons of updates, still slowly getting things up to date but not there yet.) i install new programs all the time, but none that seem to coincide with this particular problem.
starting a few days ago, my internet randomly goes out. when i try to "repair" my connection through network connections, it says windows cannot renew the ip address. going to command prompt and trying ipconfig/release or ipconfig/renew gives a message about RPC not available. however, a simple reboot fixes everything. for a few hours or so.
i haven't been able to pinpoint exactly when the problem occurs. i often leave utorrent and peerblock running when i go to work - no other programs running - this is what first alerted me to the problem, coming home to find that at some point my internet went down and downloads didn't finish. just this evening i was surfing the web, watching youtube videos, when suddenly my connection went out. this time, only firefox was running, so not a problem with utorrent or peerblock. something else is causing the problem.

Dec 1, 2012I have a Cisco SG200-08p that's acting up. After setting up 2 larger 200 series switches I pulled this out for its config. I changed the default password and assigned the new static IP address of 192.168.0.103, that's it. The settings applied and worked normally but after rebooting the switch it reverted itself back to the default ip of 192.168.1.254, it retained the new password. After this happened a few times I upgraded the firmware to the latest version, reset the device to factory settings and applied the new address again to have the same problem. It doesn't matter if I reboot the switch in the management interface or physically. Is there a problem with having a zero in the third octet (that would be lame)?

Feb 5, 2012I lost it on my old laptop. Figured it was time to get a new computer anyways, we bought a new one, along with a Playbook. Both the new computer and the Playbook have had this problem, though they were able to fix it.They all use Wi-Fi.

They were content with this; I moved back in with them for the time being and am not.y solution has been to dump just shy of $1,000 into a point-to-point wireless bridge setup that claims to have a range of 5 miles non-line-of-sight. I have one antenna set up four miles away on top of a building that has high speed internet.Unfortunately, I was a stupid fool and set that end up without enabling security, thinking that it wasn't a big deal. Nobody in that town has a mind for anything but farming and drinking. That was my mistake. But, the modem is located in my roommates room who has different sleeping hours than I do. We have tried relocating it but it really doesn't connect then. Anyway, I have my laptop (Windows 7) and access my Netgear router to my Motorola modem supplied by Time Warner Cable. The printers work fine once I add them to each computer, but once I restart, the printers appear offline on the other 2 computers even though they work fine on the desktop to which they are wired.I've had this setup for a while and only recently this started happening. It looks like Win7 is messing with the IPs of the printers. I'm not an expert on how to find the IP addresses of the printers though and set them to static (if this indeed is the problem)

By that, I mean that all of my devices are recognized and peripherals such as phones & ps3 can use the internet, but my PC has broken functionality.In the prompt at left, I have run ipconfig twice. The first time is immediately after a restart. The second time, about halfway down, is after manually reinstalling my realtek ethernet drivers. Network Printer Offline After Reboot
Nov 23, 2012I have 2 XP machines, both connected to a network switch which connects them to a print server attached to a printer. The last print server recently died and has been replaced, but the problem remains. I've downloaded the driver from the printer manufacturers website and installed on both XP machines, one functions fine but after each reboot the printer is grayed out on the other. Removing it and adding again fixes this until the next reboot.I am aware of some networking issues at this site which result in a few dropped packets between sites but shouldn't be an issue here since they are all attached to the same switch.
