Motorola Netopia 3347 - Can View Cameras Locally But Not Remotely
Apr 23, 2012
I need viewing a DVR camera system remotely through a Motorola Netopia 3347 router. I was able to view the system properly for a year with the old ATT modem and a separate router, but recently the modem crashed and ATT replaced it with this Netopia that I can't for the life of me, understand.I can view locally but not remotely from the internet. I need establishing the Pinholes properly. I'm trying to get it working for port 85 for the DVR system. But I'm confused on the Internal vs. External port #'s it asks for in the Pinhole screen. No combination I enter seems to work. I even tried just using port 80 to get it working, but there was a conflict creating a pinhole for 80 since its already mapped to HTTP.

I installed 6 Q-see Cameras, pretty easy to install. The problem is running the port forwarding so I can view the cameras in the internet. I am running a Netopia 3347-02 router. I am not sure how to port forwarding so I can view the cameras over the internet. On the seeting for the DVR. I can see the Ip address ex. 198.168.X.X and the port is 80. On the Netopia 3347-02 router I went to pinholes cause is wher it will let me do the port forwarding, and I name the port Ex. test,
pinhole name ; TEST
start port: 80
end port: 80

I recently setup a Camera (DVR) system for a good friend of mine who just opened a restaurant. We are able to access the cameras just fine internally (LAN), but not externally (WAN).
I port forwarded, or 'pinholed' as this router uses, ports 9000 and 80 (changed the routers web port to 81 so there would be no conflict). I grabbed the external ip for the network and immediately tried connecting from home (I was doing everything remotely), and could not access the cameras, neither with the dvr software, nor with internet explorer.
EDIT: I believe he has a dsl line. I wonder if we'd need to change the configuration in the modem itself?

I am trying to setup 4 cameras to view with remote live view. I set up my server with IP addresses of 192.168.1.80 .... 85. The screen has only the option for 1 video channel. I have seen on-line screen shots that have options for channel 1 through 8. I want to assign each camera to a different channel so I will be able to use remote live view to show all 4 cameras at the same time. I can only show one at a time. Do I need a different version than 3.3 or some obscure windows 7 setting?

I have Qwest DSL 7MB internet with a motorola 3347 Qwest model modem and for some reason throughout the day sometimes fewer than than others my internet light will just go red for about 45 seconds up to 2 to 3 minutes them it starts flashing green again? I called them multiple times but they just say maybe its the modem. Is there any test I can do to see? I upgraded the firmware to the newest one to see if that would work but no luck.

I can access my cameras through the Dlink web site (mydlink), but cannot access all of them through D-View Cam o n my desktop. I do a camera search and it only finds two of them and the third one it doesn't see. I tried to insert it manually and it still doesn't see it. It sees it fine in mydlink.
I've uninstalled the D-View Cam program and re-installed it, with the same results.

I have a DVR machine that I've been trying to carry out port forwarding to view cameras from outside the network. It lies on 192.168.1.31. The confusing thing is the ports. The configuration on the DVR lists a device port: 8000 and a http port: 80. I am torn between which port to forward.

I've just setup my router and dvr system. I have my DVR wired to a Linksys E1200 router. At home view by using url....it then prompts me to log in and voila I can view. I tried setting up the port forwarding although I'm not sure if I did it correctly or not. I got onto my routers webpage. Went to "applications & gaming" Named port, selected both, put in DVR's ip address and clicked save. Came to work and tried to view it and I just get the "cannot load webpage" page.

I recently installed a First Alert Security System and assigned IP address to the DVR but within the DHCP (After reading many threads, I will asssign, ping and create a static IP outside of the DHCP, maybe this will resolve the issue). I am able to view the cameras on my iPhone and HP Laptop but only internally on my network. I am trying to port forward my DVR IP address to be able to view the cameras on a public website. Although I am going to chcek and see if assigning an IP to my DVR outside of the DHCP and hopefully this will be it, I am afraid that my CradelPoint CRT 500 Modem will not support it. I read on one thread that this is a common issue after you have exhausted all the options. How can I be sure that my modem supports that my router port forwards? I want to avoid configuring to run in bridged or pass-through mode.

I have an ISIS TFS1612 security camera system at my business. I'm looking to view it remotely. But, I can't seem to get it working. I have forwarded all ports that it uses. As well as set up a static external ip address. The modem I have is an Actiontec Q1000 which also acts like my router. There are other things connected to the modem.

I have a Westell 6100 modem. After my old router, a DIR-655, got zapped by some electric charge from a nearby thunderstorm, I bought a Netgear WNDR3800 router. But I have not been able to get the Netgear router to connect to the Westell 6100 modem reliably [URL]
A friend had given me a Netopia 3347NWG router/modem some time ago but I had never attempted to use it. I was able to get into the web setup screens of the 3347NWG and, without attempting to connect the Netgear router to it, I was able to connect to the Internet via the setup screen. But every attempt to actually go to a web address would fail with a timeout, and efforts to ping always failed with a timeout. Yet the 3347NWG setup said I was connected.
Does anybody know how to setup the 3347NWG so it actually can connect to the Internet correctly so that I am able to surf to a web page or ping an address successfully ?
Does anybody know how to setup the 3347NWG in Bridge mode so that I can use it strictly as a ADSL modem and try to use it with my Netgear WNDR3800 router ?
If I can not use the 3347NWG with my Netgear router I had planned to send the Netgear router back for a replacement since it is not connecting relaibly to my Westell 6100 modem. But if I can get the 3347NWG to work as a modem and reliably connect my Netgear router to it, I will not have to send back the Netgear router for another one.

Our ISP provided a DSL modem/router (Netopia) that I connected to the Netgear wireless router with dd-wrt flashed. All I've done so far is connected the two. I have a connection, but I want to know if it's possible or advisable to configure everything from the Netgear router. But following the instructions here[URL], it seems I have to configure DNS and such using the Netopia router. I don't have a full grasp on how to use them together the correct way - like using the Netopia as an ethernet bridge.

I currently have service with AT&T DSL. I have their Motorola Netopia 3347 modem that is set to Bridged mode and going to a Linksys WRT54GL router, which then goes out to a Cisco 24 port switch.AT&T has given us a Static IP to use, which was set up and working just fine when the modem was NOT in Bridged mode. Now that I have it set to bridge mode (as per a request by our VoIP provider), our IP address is no longer static at WhatismyIP.com...instead it changes frequently. However, I have a back up server here that needs to have a static IP so offsite back ups can find our modem/router and then the back up server.I am running Tomato software on the Linksys admin. When I go to the Basic->Network section, the WAN/Internet is set to PPPoE with the AT&T username and password that was originally used in the Netopia modem entered in. If I set this option to Static, it removes the username/password fields, so I do not think that my internet would work that way. Or, would the Netopia use the username/password to authenticate, and then just pass it through to the Linksys in bridge mode and THEN it would use the static IP? what I need to do to make the Linksys grab our Static IP instead of changing? Neither AT&T or the VoIP company can figure it out...

I need to be VPN'd in to work all day but during the day I need to print to my home network printer. The work around has always been to press print then disconnect from VPN, wait for the document to finish then reconnect VPN. This is starting to get on my nerves and I was hoping that there was a way to be on VPN through my physical LAN and maybe print over my wireless network. Is there a way to separate traffic in Windows 7?

I have a netopia 3347W adsl modem/router that I have put in "ethernet bridge" mode. At that point the RV110W has to authenticate to ATT using PPPOE. I have verified the username/paswd for the PPPOE connection. The 110w will not complete the PPPOE connection. Looking at the logs it shows that it handshakes and authenticates with the PPPOE server. Then unexpectedly the log shows a termination with exit status 15. It then tries to renegotiate the PPPOE connection.

I am setting up a webserver to host our website on our local network. When I'm browsing from an external network, I can pull our website example.com and a sub domain test.example.com. However, when I'm browsing from our internal network, I cannot pull up test.example.com. I am not sure if this is due to propigation issues or what. When I do nslookup from external, it shows my network's main IP address. When I do it from local, it can't find an address and says non-existent domain.Should I have any problems connecting to my website if it is using my external IP address? Will this be a loopback problem? If so, how can I resolve this?

I'm on a PC with XP spk3 and my broadband speed is 30+ Mb. In any browser, if I go to Vimeo, Youtube etc and watch higher quality vids I get terrible stuttering of picture and sound, really bad crackling and warbling and drop outs. But, if I download the same vids, they play fine on my computer. I've updated everything I can think of and there is no improvement. My machine is old and slow but this problem started just the other day and it was bad from the start. It didn't gradually creep up.I'm at a loss.

during the first set up I have set a password as it was requested during the installation routine. After the installation, I added the camera's IP to my browser (tried IE9 and FF). In both cases I was asked to enter the user name and the PW, but I can't access the 930. I'm using the very same PW as I had set up during the routine, but none of the browsers accepts the PW.

I installed my first IP camera. Things seem to have went ok with the installation andd router. I can view the video live from mydlink.com.I've tried the dlink software, but it can't find the camera so I can control recording options, ftp, etc. i've also tried 3rd party software that can't find my camera.I'm fairly internet savvy, but do not have access to my router admin atm. (cable company installed their own) My home ip address is supposed to be dynamic. I thought that would cause me problems viewing from mydlink.com, but it hasn't so far.

I redistribute our MPLS eBGP routes into our internal EIGRP process at each site. This action undesirably redistributes locally generated BGP networks (via network command) that are meant from the MPLS cloud into our internal routing process.I currently have a route-map on my 'redistribute bgp' command that filters each network manually with an ACL. This works but adds obvious administrative overhead; each WAN router advertises different networks, and the ACL must be updated for each new network.Would it make more sense to simply deny routes from BGP to EIGRP with a metric of 32768? Something like this,route-map deny-local-bgp deny 10 match metric 3276 router -map deny-local-bgp permit 20,router eigrp 100 redistribute bgp 65104 route-map deny-local-bgp.
