View 1 Replies View RelatedSince the new cable company won't let me use my SB6141, I need to pick up a new cable modem. One that works with Oceanic TWC is the new SBG6580. It has wireless built-in; however, I don't want to use it. Is it possible to use this modem and leave the wireless off? Or does the wireless automatically turn-on whenever the modem is on? With all that said, is the built-in wireless any good? I recently purchased an ASUS RT-56 and would prefer using it to some built-in system.

If there was a workaround for me to connect to the internet outside of my citrix session? I work remotely for my company through citrix access gateway and can open/access the internet from within the session but any attempt from a browser/program outside of the session times out...I am thinking this is blocked on purpose for productivity reasons, however I want to be able to access the internet from outside of the session so that accessing personal sites for example, gmail, won't be tracked by my company.Would it be possible to run a virtual machine and change IP addresses so access within the machine runs independently of my session?

The router named "Router1" connects 2 computers PC1 and PC2 on the LAN side with a network address of 192.168.1.0/24. It is a PPTP server and a DHCP server. It gives IP addresses to PC1 and PC2. When PC3 connects via PPTP, It receives a correct IP address(10.2.9.3), correct DNS addresses but the ip4 default gateway field is left blank, and the DHCP option is not enabled on connection properties of PC3. Router1 is a DD-WRT firmware router (DLink Dir 400) and has PPTP server enabled as a service. How do I get Router 1 to give PC3 a default gateway IP? And how do I forward all outgoing packets from Router 1 to Router 2? I do not need port forwarding for some ports, I need full access to the internet from PC3 though the PPTP connection via Router2.

Have a problem with a laptop connecting to a Wireless Router. The laptop was working fine on the last router which was on an ADSL Network.. (not that that matters),When the new router (Virgin Media / Cable) was installed all other laptops where connecting to it without any probs, but not this one.The laptop in question still receives an IP address, Subnet mask and Gateway from the router - Vista says Local only, no internet access. It cannot ping anything else on the network either. When I do ping it comes back destination host unreachable.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been having a really annoying issue with my computer not connecting to the internet wirelessly I start the computer, and a connection is there via my router for about 30secs-2mins. After this, I can't access any websites. The full five bars remain white and the router is still seen by the computer, but there is a small yellow exclamation sign in front of it, and a mouse-over says "no internet access". I can still access when wired to the router through a cable, so I thought it might be an issue with my wireless card, but wireless USB adapters don't make a difference, even when I've disabled the wireless card. My drivers are all up to date, and I've even tried a full reformat and reinstall of Windows 7, to no avail. Other devices (a couple of computers and phones) can connect to the router fine, and the network even tried a new router, with no success. I have experienced this immediately after the reinstall, before either firewall (I use ZoneAlarm Free) or AV (I use Avast! Free) were installed, and I'm completely stuck.

I found that if I add a static route for the tunnel destination via fa0/0, the public facing interface, the tunnel comes up..ip route 10.23.4.2 255. 255. 255. 255 FastEthernet0/0
and I can then ping the tunnel IP at the far end - 10.23.0.5.Why would that be? Is there a better way to do this without using a default route??

The main bedroom is located about 25 meters, with two bedrooms in between the office-room and the main bedroom.I broke a leg so I figured I could work on bed, but I have this problem: the signal from the motorola wireless router is so low at the main bedroom that the connection drops all the time. Oddly (or maybe not), I can see like 10 other access points, presumably from my neighbors, all with a full signal. And I live in a "full-floor" apartment so I only have neighbors above and below.I connected a linksys WRT54G2 that I have and I get the exact same problem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedLooking to add my belkin wireless router to Sbg6580 router as an access point to extend wireless. I've read up enough to understand the fundamentals - LAN to LAN, changing IPs, turn off DCHP etc. - but am confused by a couple of things.
First, belkin faqs says to Open the router page, click on "use as access point" (I get that) "Select Enable" (I also get that), and then it goes on to say "This will give you the options to set the IP Address and Subnet mask for the router.**These settings should match your existing network settings; by default the IP address will be set to 192.168.2.254 and the Subnet mask will be 255.255.255.0". Does this mean to set the IP address of the Belkin to that of the Motorola (which is 192.168.0.1) on this page?
Then the FAQ goes on to say access the LAN and "change the IP Address to something such as 192.168.2.47 or you can use 192.168.2.200.**As long as the first three sets of numbers match your existing network, you will be fine". I thought the LAN IP address should fall outside the DCHP range of the Motorola? So if the DHCP range for the Motorola is 192.168.0.2 through 192.168.0.250 then I'd assign 192.168.0.251 to the Belkin?
I am missing my Installation CD, where I can download the software to configure my network (rename, etc.)?
