Sharing :: Access Denied You Do Not Have Permission Contact Your Administrator
Apr 14, 2013
All I want to do is to share a couple of Folders, My Documents and Downloads, between two PC's on a Workgroup network.Networking is not my strongest point but up until now I have managed quite successfully. The setup is :-
1st PC is Mike-Laptoppc is on a Wireless connection to an ADSL+2 router/modem.
2nd PC is a Desktop Alexs-PC connected via cable to the same router/modem
I can share all the shared folders from the Desktop to the Laptop, but I can only share Media streaming on the Desktop from the Laptop, so I know there is a connection between the two computers. I have now turned off Media streaming to concentrate on just folder sharing.Whenever I try to access the Laptop from the Desktop I get an " Access Denied you do not have permission contact your administrator " box on the desktop.
( Home Cisco router WAG160Nv2, Windows Vista)Who is the network administrator on my home network and which device is involved: Windows Vista, Cisco network magic pro ? ; the Cisco router modem with WLAN ?The wireless MAC filter on the modem is disabled. The access is denied to my WLAN and the only one from which I get signals from the neighborhood. My main laptop has access to the network only over the Ethernet, but not over WLAN.My second laptop has access to this network over the Ethernet and WLAN .
I was changing the computer name on a group of networked computers but forgot to go to - Manage - Users - Administrator and set a password. I accessed Computer - System Properties - Clicked the "Change" button for "To rename this computer, click Change" and selected the "Workgroup" as opposed to the "Domain" option. When I restarted the computer the computer will not allow me to enter the administrator password to allow me access the computer.
Trying to connect two systems together but was giving error that contact network administrator, one system is laptop with wireless and other is desktop but connect through cable but running windows XPSamson
XP desktop hard wired to router. XP and Vista laptops wireless. Vista has SP1 and both XPs are SP3. All computers can see each other. Vista can access the XP drives. The 2 XP computers can access each other. The 2 XP computers cannot access the VISTA. Access is denied. Firewalls are off on all computers. I have tried permissions on both sharing and security tabs with no luck.
I have a folder in which there are many subfolders inside in windows server 2008 R2. I need to share it to the user pc's such that they should be able to see all the subfolders but wont be able to access the folders giving the message ''Access Denied" except for their corresponding dept. folders in which they can have read/write permissions.
successfully installed Windows 7 x64 on my computer this week, but the computer sometimes loses contact with my WD 1TB Book live NAS(When trying to copy Big FILE). When this happens, I restart the computer, and the drive usually reappears. I just bought this hard drive two days agoInstead of simply failing to recognize it, I sometimes get "not responding" errors when trying to open files. My hard drive (Western Digital My Book Live WDBACG0010HCH 1TBI contacted Western Digital support, Still no reply from them. still waitingi find some hardware forum to check this out .. also not solution yeti change my router, off firewall, also the same problem.
My router is a Dir-601 n150.Would the router possible be causing this problem? Some people say the router could possible be causing this problem. On my desktop I'm running, Windows Vista Home premium. On my laptop, I'm running Windows 7 Home premium. Both are set for Workgroup, file sharing is turned on, password protection is turned off.I have file sharing on both set to Guest. I have printer sharing turn on, which works fine.On both computers the only user is the Administrator, with this I set file sharing to Guest on both. When I use laptop to access files on my desktop, The public I can access with no problem. When I try to access the users folder I get an error message: Windows cannot access\ mane of computer-PC\Users/You do not have permission to access\ name of computer-PC Users. Contact your network administrator to request access.
I installed a Linksys E1550 wireless router at home and I moved an external storage drive from the old computer (soon to be gone) to the router via the USB port in the router.
I can see the drive and files on the router on both the old computer and the new laptop, but I can't do anything with them. When I look at permissions for any given file it says: "Everyone" has read and execute only. "root" has Full Control, but I can't gain access to the "root" userid. I have gone through the router setup and folder/file properties using the "admin" userid and the router acknowledges that it is there, but it won't allow me to add permissions for the "admin" with "Full Control" to any of the items.
It won't even allow me to add new files, even though I have setup sharing for the entire partition.
ACE 4710 TACACS issues ,How to setup user with Admin context access permission. I have enable the TACACS and it can directly put me in Context mode not in Admin Context mode .
NETWORK CONNECTION PROBLEMPOPUP ERROR states"\<name> is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. Access denied."When trying to View the two PCs through My Network Places> View workgroup Computers in MSHOME?I was able to map the shared folder manually.
I have a computer with windows 2003 server installed on it. There is one shared folder. The computer's name is SERVER. The shared folder's name is OFFICE.Whenever I type \SERVEROFFICE in a windows explorer window, I get a pop up window with a message that says that Windows does not find \SERVEROFFICE.I mean, I should be able to see the folder in this way because this OFFICE folder is shared and I am doing this from the same computer and not from another computer in the LAN.
I'm trying to solve a disastrous networking (via workgroup nightmare) and I cannot enable the DNS Client on my Windows 7 PC. I go to cntrl panel, admin services, dns client, and try to change it to automatic and it says "access is denied"
I have enabled Network filtering on MAC address on my D-Link 628 router.
I've noticed entries in the log file - "Access Denied to LAN System with MAC address ______________" for 2 different MAC addresses. I do not recognize these MAC addresses. The entry that immediately follows these messages - "Above message repeated 466 times and 124 times. The entries for these 2 MAC addresses has been occurring multiple times with different repeat numbers over the past few days.
Is this an indication that someone nearby my router is attempting to hack into my wireless router or do I have a configuration issue?
i m working in a domain environment . for example my domain name is testdomain.com. i create a shared folder on it and give everyone a read control over it. then i create a folder in that shared folder with name of test. i also create a user with name test. i give full control to test user over test folder. now when i access the test folder from network with username test. i can read that folder but when i create the file or folder in the test folder it will show the following error..."unable to create a folder"new folder" access is denied.

Even though I am an Administrator on the server, sometimes I create files or folder on a network drive and when trying to access them later (or immediately in some cases), I am getting an "Access Denied" box.For example, I just created a folder, moved an item into it, then tried to rename the folder and was denied access.
I'm configuring ASA 8.4 for SSLVPN allowing Web Portal access with group-url. I've noticed that if I put certain keywords after slash mark on group-url, client access would be denied by http 404 error.
Here's my configuration:
tunnel-group test type remote-access tunnel-group test general-attributes default-group-policy test
In my log I have the message: "Access denied to wireless system with MAC address 0020008E971E". When I checked the vendor for this MAC, it shows Lexmark international inc, which fact make me feel something is wrong. My first thought was that somebody trying to break into my net but I am close to accept that the owner of Lexmark WiFi printer without an idea in networking, just tried to connect it to his network and after failing to do that, it's wired and wireless features are still on. But still could this be bug or something? I am posting some logs when I first discovered the problem and after I granted access to the device with the MAC address 0020008E971E. I forgot to tell you, that before I decided to post here I did firmware upgrade from Hardware version A3 1.10 to 1.35NA (I bought it from US) with factory default restore. The result was absolutely the same - the messages kept coming "Access denied to wireless system with MAC address 0020008E971E". So I granted access to that MAC and checked the logs again. There is a line in the log that stated "primary:"
I have a EA6500 with a hard drive connected to the USB port. When I try to copy a file to the drive VIA the network folder on my computer it says "Destination Folder Access Denied, You Need Permision To Perform This Action". I used to be able to copy files to the drive so I am sure it is just a setting on the router or something.
I am trying to troubleshoot a problem where in one of my remote site is not able to access some networks at HQ over Site to SIte VPN ( asa 5505 at Remote and 5520 at HQ). I ran packet tracer and HQ ASA looks clean as everything came out as ALLOW. Remote site ASA packet tracer give me DROP out at Phase 9 (VPN). I am not very sure what to look in ASA for resolution now. Is it an access list that is blocking the traffice or VPN setup.
The last shipment of 3602 APs for a customer came with 7.3 software. Controllers are running 7.2.110.0 so APs had to be downgraded. After APs finished downgrading they were still up. When we moved the APs to another controller running 7.2.110.0 they would not come back up. Power was denied at the switch.
I just bought a WMP600N adaptor and although windows 7 recognizes it I would like to install the official drivers from Linksys. When I try to update the drivers that I downloaded from the linksys website I het an access denied error. I am logged in as the administrator. I have already tried uninstalling the default drivers, but still I get the access denied error. I even tried the windows safe mode and still got the access denied error.
With the default windows 7 drivers the connection is quite poor. how I can install the official windows 7 drivers?
