We have regular cable internet in the office. Modem is connected to Apple router (time capsule). No trouble. Now we are getting fibre optic in the office. Mngmnt has abought the following Cisco stuff:
Cisco Wireless Controller 2504
Cisco 3501 AP 802.11g/n Ctrlr based AP
Cisco ASA 5510 Firewall appliance
Cisco Power Injector AP3500 Series
According to my understding, the fibre optic point will be connected to ASA which will be further connected to wireless controller and then access point.
I cant find the requird info. The guides available at cisco are for when you use CLI and as a beginner I prefer to use GUI. While trying to config ASA, there are many questions I can't find the answers.
My son gave me an E3000wireless router but the first instruction is to insert the CD and follow instructions. I don't have the CD. How do I install it? Also, this is replacing an older router that is installed and working. Can I install the E3000 without removing the older router first?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was using dd-wrt to fix a problem that my router was having (I wasn't able host some online games when router QOS is enabled). However, i can't couldn't take that crappy firmware anymore (its web gui was way to slow, painfully slow actually and it crashed alot) and will never use it again in life. I was finally able to get back to the default linksys firmware but now I have the same previous problem. I am now using the latest firmware "Firmware Version v1.02.8' for my WRT54g v6. I never backed up up the previous firmware for this router before i upgraded to v1.02.8 so any link to a previous version or the first version of firmware for this router that will be great. I've been look all around the internet and I can't find it, from searching around i found out that linksys hand an ftp archive of firmwares but it stopped working around 2010. So, where i can get at older version, or even a third party firmware OTHER THAN DD-WRT that works with the WRT54g v6 router.
I don't even know if the older firmware would fix this problem, but I dont want to have to be disabling QOS every time i want to play this game because the people in my house will hog the bandwidth and i will get lag, but its worth a shot.
We have a CISCO RV042. We are about to begin a VIOP service with Vocalocity who state:
The RV042 is a wired router that requires no configuration adjustments for the firmware versions we tested. Version 1 and 2 are compatible. Version 3 is NOT. Firmware Reviewed: 1.3.12.6 | 1.3.12.19
Our router's firmware is : 1.3.8.2 (Feb 12 2007 10:43:08)
Can we upgrade to 1.3.12.6 or 1.3.12.19? What is meant by Version 1, 2 and 3?
Region : UnitedKingdom

Hardware Version : V3
Firmware Version : 3.0.0 Build 120524 Rel.05221
I have just bought this ADSL router. Of course, the first thing I did was upgrade the firmware, or so I thought. It seems that the firmware on the TP website is older than the one which was pre-installed onto the router.Website Firmware: 3.0.0 Build 120524 Rel.05221 ------------- i.e. 24.May.2012 Release 05221.Pre-loaded Firmware on router: 3.0.0 Build 120808 Rel.28888 -------------- i.e. 8.August.2012 Release 28888.I have foolishly uploaded the older firmware to the router from the website. I wanted to see what version number showed in the Router's Firmware page so I did a ROM backup, thinking I could always reload the "current" firmware. As it turns out, the ROM file is just the user settings backup.
It is sad that TP-Link doesn't provide change logs. Where to find later firmwares, or even what the change to the firmware was?And when we can expect a new firmware to be uploaded to the website?
I want upgrade IOS on my 7206VXR from 12.4(12c) to 15.1(4)M5 , but the CF card only 64M.
-NAME: "disk2", DESCR: "64MB Compact Flash Disk for NPE-G1"
-Router#show bootvar
BOOT variable = disk2:c7200-jk9s-mz.124-12c.bin,15.1(4)M5 is almost 40M. So there is not enough space.I want to ask is it ok if I upgrade with normal precedure , With the command " copy tftp: disk2: " ?Does the router will automatically delete the older IOS first and then copy into the new one ? Or Is there something I should pay attention first ?
I am having problems trying to connect to my wi-fi. I first noticed that I had problems connecting to some types of unsecured wi-fi connections when I was "borrowing" from my neighbour while I waited for telus to install my internet. My two roommates would have no problem surfing but my computer was unable to get any connection to the internet (i could see the connections but never load a page)
Once telus came and installed the internet I was able to get a "fair" connection to the router and surf with decent speeds. About a week after I first started using the internet, my computer started being unable to connect the router. It seems that everything is getting worse and worse. It started by me having to restart the adapter a couple of times to make it work, to me having to delete the network profile and then redo it, to me only being able to connect by using the WPS.
And now my computer can't even get the information from the router through WPS! I would start to point the finger at telus, but every one of my roommates has no problems connecting to the internet, and it's not a range issue (i'm typing this up with my laptop while sitting beside my desktop).
I have a prob with my laptops, wireless setup although it shows wlan on it will not work without a connection to the router, netgear wgr614,I have gone into Devise Mng and found the following faults,Serial cable IRDA problem code 43 & SRTSPX code 24 not working.

There are no "show inventory" or "show platform" commands. "Show version" doesn't list the network module as well. In addition, it appears to have a "show c2600" command, but this doesn't display any hardware information.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhere I can bookmark a page with information on the Re-call of this router?I am pretty sure that this router is not under a re-call yet but after the endless amounts of discussions and problems folks have had with this thing it has to be recalled soon right?I don't want to loose faith in DLink products because like many I have owned them for years and years. A bad release is going to happen sooner or later but if the company does nothing about the problem it is time to move to a new brand.
At the very least when is the next firmware version going to be released? I have tried them all and none of them seem to work. I am well past the stage of troubleshooting because the problems I have like Way to many other people are not being solved by discussions and firmware changes or altering settings.
My site is thinking of using AP 2600 instead of the trusty AP 3502 since it has better thru put. Any experience on 2600 as we want to ensure stability for our deployment.

Logging [IP Address or Hostname of machine running Kiwi Syslog Server]

View 3 Replies View Relatedjust noticed today, that there's a FW ver.4.13 for Rev.D, which I uploaded into the router too. Captcha is now gone (I read it was flawed anyway), and no option to turn it back on (I'd do anyway). So I'm looking for the older firmware that I was using for a year or so, which was 4.11. I found it and downgraded to it (actually, this was on another DIR615 rev.D), and guess what? No catpcha in that either! As far as I remember, I was using 4.11-B04 (but not sure, really), whatever it means, and now I only find 4.11-B02 everywhere. Is it possible that those FWs with buggy captcha have been removed from FTP servers worldwide?
View 5 Replies View Relatedthis might sound straight forward, but every other pc or console can find and connect to my router. This issue seems to happen about once every few months, sometimes it comes back by itself and reconnects completely fine.
There isn't a "user limit" on our router.Wireless adapter is dell wireless 1505 draft 802.11n wlan mini-card.
Have restarted PC and uninstalled and reinstalled the card.I tried to set the i.p address to static but it says "adapter disconnected" so won't allow me to edit any settings, despite it being able to find neighbour's wireless very easily.
I recently installed an RE1000, which seemed to be working fine. Then, on 3 PC's with no wireless adapter installed we began being prompted for user name and password for the wireless router. Once I unplugged to extender the problem went away. I know what you're thinking: Maybe I just think there's no wireless adapter on these PC's. NO, I looked in device manager and the only network adapter installed is the ethernet adapter. These are all 4+ year old machines with no hardware changes made to them. Wireless adapters are not necessarily standard issue on old towers--even on new towers. The Acer I'm using right now was purchased new in November 2011 and did not come with a wireless adapter installed.

I have some legacy (read: old) audio equipment that used leased lines to run, no way to convert them to IP internally. They have x.21 and v.35 interfaces on them.
Is there a way i could use something like an old 2600 series router and run it in reverse, like just using them as a media converter to shove the v.35 over into IP land?
I'm not interested in buying newest latest greatest (these audio codecs are upwards of $5k a pop to replace, x2 for a complete link), i'm just curious if i can turn a WIC-1T into the interface for these boxes and do a direct route to another 2600 on the other end with the same configuration.
This would essentially turn the WIC portion into the local side and the ethernet into the WAN side.
