Cisco Wireless :: AP2600 Experience And Information Of Router
Nov 29, 2012
My site is thinking of using AP 2600 instead of the trusty AP 3502 since it has better thru put. Any experience on 2600 as we want to ensure stability for our deployment.
Is anybody deploying ASA Services Module? I am looking for feedback/gotchas/advice for a migration from an ASA-5550 HA pair.I also received confirmation from Cisco that VPN termination is active in the latest 8.5/8.6 code releases, so hopefully should be able to fully retire my 5550's.
I've got tons of fibre in my network. However, tbh, my knowledge about correct light levels isn't great. I generally wait until my router complains about a light level before I do anything. I would like to set up SNMP monitoring for light levels, but I need some kind of baseline.Anyone with extensive fibre experience? What light levels should I be looking at for both multimode and singlemode fibre?
I need setting my 825 router on the best optimize setting for my ps3, Im running wireless on it and the router is about one room away from my ps3 which isnt that big of a difference since I am getting 95-100% signal on it, the issue is the rate speed runs about 36m-54m it NEVER, or at least I havent seen it go higher than that.I turned the QO6 engine but it didnt really change a thing, will running this wire do the majic? or is there another alternative set up I can do on the router to have it run on best settings.
I really am having troubling with my current router wrt120n and it is a dumb router that doesn't even know how to prioritize clients. A low priority client can still lag my gaming experience cause someone in my house is streaming videos. I need a router that isn't dumb and know how to prioritize connections and doesn't destroy my gaming experience. What would be the bestest gaming router out there?
My desktop pc is currently wired into myowireless router and my laptop is fully wireless. How do I send data(pictures, music etc) from my laptop to my desktop & vice versa?
No changes made but router will lose all information for IPv connectivity. I have paid twice to support to fix this issue and it still occurs every few months. I tried rebooting router, and doing an IP Release/ Renew and router does not get IP address.
I recently installed an RE1000, which seemed to be working fine. Then, on 3 PC's with no wireless adapter installed we began being prompted for user name and password for the wireless router. Once I unplugged to extender the problem went away. I know what you're thinking: Maybe I just think there's no wireless adapter on these PC's. NO, I looked in device manager and the only network adapter installed is the ethernet adapter. These are all 4+ year old machines with no hardware changes made to them. Wireless adapters are not necessarily standard issue on old towers--even on new towers. The Acer I'm using right now was purchased new in November 2011 and did not come with a wireless adapter installed.
I am having problems trying to connect to my wi-fi. I first noticed that I had problems connecting to some types of unsecured wi-fi connections when I was "borrowing" from my neighbour while I waited for telus to install my internet. My two roommates would have no problem surfing but my computer was unable to get any connection to the internet (i could see the connections but never load a page)
Once telus came and installed the internet I was able to get a "fair" connection to the router and surf with decent speeds. About a week after I first started using the internet, my computer started being unable to connect the router. It seems that everything is getting worse and worse. It started by me having to restart the adapter a couple of times to make it work, to me having to delete the network profile and then redo it, to me only being able to connect by using the WPS.
And now my computer can't even get the information from the router through WPS! I would start to point the finger at telus, but every one of my roommates has no problems connecting to the internet, and it's not a range issue (i'm typing this up with my laptop while sitting beside my desktop).
I have a prob with my laptops, wireless setup although it shows wlan on it will not work without a connection to the router, netgear wgr614,I have gone into Devise Mng and found the following faults,Serial cable IRDA problem code 43 & SRTSPX code 24 not working.
I currently set up two LAN networks. But one of them (Router 2) will be open (no password). Will this create a security compromise? Can the Router 2 Users access information of users of Router 1?
Modem WAN > Router 1 WAN Router 1 LAN > Router 2 WAN
The router 1 and 2 are broadcasting different networks and SSID.Is there any setting that I need to change, or this configuration is perfectly safe? both of them have DHCP enabled.
I have a Cisco 2610 series router(Version 12.0(5)T1, c2600-i-mz.120-5.T1), which has a network module inserted. I would like to view the model of this network module. There are no "show inventory" or "show platform" commands. "Show version" doesn't list the network module as well. In addition, it appears to have a "show c2600" command, but this doesn't display any hardware information.
Linksys WRT54GL I need access to my router, but the default password and usernames do not work. I think hitting the reset button and holding it would set everything back to default, but will EVERYTHING but reset to default or just the password?
Where I can bookmark a page with information on the Re-call of this router?I am pretty sure that this router is not under a re-call yet but after the endless amounts of discussions and problems folks have had with this thing it has to be recalled soon right?I don't want to loose faith in DLink products because like many I have owned them for years and years. A bad release is going to happen sooner or later but if the company does nothing about the problem it is time to move to a new brand.
At the very least when is the next firmware version going to be released? I have tried them all and none of them seem to work. I am well past the stage of troubleshooting because the problems I have like Way to many other people are not being solved by discussions and firmware changes or altering settings.
I'm trying to view the logs from a Cisco 857W router to a workstation running the Kiwi Syslog server. what I've done is the following:
Config term
Logging on
Logging source-interface BVI1
Logging Facility Local7 (or any other facility you want to allocate for this router.)
Logging [IP Address or Hostname of machine running Kiwi Syslog Server]
End
I see noting on the syslog server. Although I can see the log information on the router Also is there a command to stop the logging from generating or is this on by default.
We have 4 x 4xxx WLCs setup in our Core. I just created an AP group in one of WLC and in theory I should see that AP group in the other 3 x WLCs
For some reason, I do not see that AP group appear in other 3 x WLCs. Very much appreciated if someone could point me to the right information or trouble shooting steps.
I've been having some problems with the Monitor Clients menu on a WCS 7.0 server, for instance if I go there and display the detected clients on the last 24 hours I get a different set of clients than if I go and generate a report of unique clients for the last day on the report menu. Is this normal?, shouldn't both reports get the data from the same place and give the same result?.
I've just installed NCS. When trying to configure NCS for ACS Tacacs+ authentication, I receive the message below when trying to login to NCS. ACS records my login in the 'passed authentications' log. I am using ACS 4.2."No authorization information found for Remote Authenticated User. Please check the correctness of the associated task(s) and Virtual Domain(s) in the remote server". I used the following link to configure ACS for NCS, url...
We have an Cisco Aironet 1130AG access point which is deployed as Stand Alone Access point, connected to Cisco 2960 Switch. Now we want to configure an Guest Wifi Access for guest users , for accessing internet ,Is it possible to configure Guest wifi for stand alone access point,( Bcoz i created in WCS, i am not sure about stand alone), i read in articles like create new vlan for Guest account & assign it like that , but not clear.
I recently bought 6 airo net 1041N standalone access points for a customer of mine. It's an academy of barely 200 students. I'll be installing an access point in every room, to ensure better signal, since they use video for there classes. The reason why i decided to install an access point in every room is because the walls are armed concrete and they had a terrible experience with a past company in which they spend a lot of money for a antenna system that didn't work. These access points will be connected to a switch, which I have to buy also.Every student is going to bring there own laptops in order to connect to the network.
The reason why I'm writing is because I have a few questions to clarify.
1) What is the best position for better signal, top side wall or corner ceiling?
2) How many client mac address filtering can i do per access point?
3)I plan on doing ESSID but can I mac filter clients to a particular access point or should I mac address filter all permitted devices in all access points. The problem is that students come with iPods and phones and as you know on windows they will be able to see the wpa2 key and enter it on the particular UN-authorized device.
4) Any graphic user interface for configuring these access points or do i have to use Cisco IOS(kind of familiar with it)? (I'm used to GUI)
5)How can I configure these access points, through Ethernet browser or do I have to use console port cable?
6)Do I have to use POE injector or can I connect the access points directly to the switch with PoE and QoS?
7)I was planning on buying a small business switch sg100 d-8 but they recommended me that I should use the catalyst 2960 series, which would be best for handling video data? don't have to be much features, just QoS.
8) Can CCp software be used in these access points?
We can not find the gateway on our Dell Latitude D810 we were able to locate the IP address and Subnet Mask however the Gateway info does not come up we have tried various times to connect to a hotspot no problem with our Dell Latitude D620 and the Function Key plus the F4 key does not bring up the wireless prompt.
I'm currently running Cisco LMS 4.1. I need to see if there is a way in the LMS, either through the menu or via a report, that can give me the V LAN numbers, the description, the IP address, the Interface (SVI) the v LAN is on and the route it takes.
I've searched near and far and haven't come up with anything yet.
Its more for information purposes. I am trying to compile some information together to get a better understanding of them so anything generic would do. Such as what it looks for in the traffic to block attacks, negative impacts of performance and a couple of top products I could have a browse of and so on.
I am in need of some information regarding licesnes on the ASA 5505.I have a client who is connecting their main office to a DR site via a site-to-site VPN. I understand that the standard license for the ASA 5505 is for 10 clients.Does the site-to-site connection consume one of these licenses?Does each endpoint communicating over the site-to-site VPN consume one license also? For example, if I have the site-to-site VPN and 10 servers on each side, would that mean that I need 21 licenses; 1 for the VPN and 20 for each server on each side?
