i new in this forum,i just want to know it that possible we can configure the normal wireless modem?.From my knowledge we can configure manually for cisco router or switch at pc by doing on hyper terminal. It that normal wireless modem can be configure using hyper terminal?.

Recently I had changed my ISP and I get a brand new modem and a D-Link DIR-615 wireless router, but the problem is the wireless signal is not strong enough to reach second floor, so I decided to get a new TP-Link TL-WA901ND access point and after configure the AP to repeaters mode, I saw it has traffic coming throughout to the AP but my PC cannot get any internet connection not even an IP address. When I was facing this problem, I thinking of is that possible using my old wireless router which is TP-Link TL-WR841ND to have a internet connection working with D-Link wireless router, I had tried plug my TP-Link router LAN port to D-Link router LAN port with a network cable and setting into same IP range (192.169.0.xx) but cannot get any traffic getting through.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have rather huge connection at home. DL speed 80Mb, UL speed 3Mb.When I connect my PC directly to modem and configure PPPoE connection, I get 81Mbits/sec. When I connect my old ASMAX $30 router, I get 78 Mbit/sek. And I find it OK.But when I connect my EA6500 I get 28 MBits/sec. Same result on wire as on wireless connection. Of course If I enable prioritisation, I get even less, 12-15 Mbits/sec.I tried already even configuration with ASMAX as wired router and EA6500 connected to its LAN port. It gives me 50Mbits/sec.

View 5 Replies View Relatedjust installed 6 new APs to a client remote site off a 5508 controller. 5508 is running 7.0.116 total of 78 installed APs, mostly 1142's with a dozen or so1242s. All going perfectly until I was about to leave site and noticed two of the APs had no LEDs lit. Checked in the controller, as I had renamed them so knew they were on the system, and they are both there. Connected to each of them and was successful and everything seemed ok - no blue LED though. Rebooted them and the LEDs work as expected during the boot process but as soon as they have entered normal operation the LEDs go dark. urls....but no reports of it with anything other than 3502's.Change process is galacial and heavily monitored so dont want to invoke it if it wont address the concern.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have an odd problem with the FTP server. I currently hooked up a 250GB portable HDD which is formatted in NTFS. A single folder in the root of the drive is mounted as the FTP server. Every time I upload a zip or far, the file comes out ends up being uploaded corrupt and double the original file size. I have used 2 FTP clients, using either ASCII or binary. No matter how I go about it, I can't make the files upload at the normal file size. Its not just archives, however, I tried an mp3 and it too got uploaded corrupt and double the size. I then downloaded the mp3 to try and play it but it didn't play in windows media player. However I loaded the 'corrupt mp3 into audacity and the file played like normal.

I have the settings configured correctly in IOS, but the AP takes about 7 minutes to come on (illuminate LED status lights) once the Ethernet cable is connected. Is this 7 minute power-on delay normal when using POE? I am used to the instanteous "on" that usually comes with Cisco products being connected directly to the AC adapter.

They connect to a wireless network provided by a D-Link DI-524 router (802.11g), which in turn connects to a DSL modem (10Mbps/1Mbps link)
Copying files between those machines, either through scp or mounting a share via NFS or Samba, is very slow (at most 200 KB/s) and sometimes fails (times out), even when both machines are inches away from the router. However, downloading files on either machine works correctly at the expected speeds (~1.2 MB/s).

It is also unlikely that the password got changed by other people who are stealing my Wi-Fi as I turned my WLAN on only when I requires the connection then it get turned off afterwards.

my computer is a dell dimension 1100, with a Linksys WMP54G wifi card, running vista home basic.In the wifi thing in the notification area, it shows two wireless networks, One is my normal SSID (Lower Net), and one is "Unidentified network". They are both on one wireless connection (Wireless Network Connection 3). When i try to go on the internet, it says i'm not connected. i tried disconnecting from the unidentified network, but that disconnects me from lower net too.

I have restored some issues with damaged registry and the system seems to be working great other than I cannot get a strong connection to the internet. It will open up when I first log on, but then the connection is intermittent at best. If I log into safe mode with networking then the connection is perfect, no problems. What I can do to restore the connection to the internet?
