Hi guys. I'm running Windows Vista SP2 on a Dell Laptop XPS. It seems there were some viruses on the system which I have cleaned out, I believe. I have restored some issues with damaged registry and the system seems to be working great other than I cannot get a strong connection to the internet. It will open up when I first log on, but then the connection is intermittent at best. If I log into safe mode with networking then the connection is perfect, no problems. What I can do to restore the connection to the internet?

When I normally start my pc i cant access the internet. I use the built in diagnostic problem program. First it tell me to reset my winsock cause somethings wrong with it, and I do, but then after i restart my pc i still can't connect to internet . So i run the diagnostic thing again and it says something like "contact the person that manages your windows product support or go online to support.microsoft.com/winxp" and I did and nothing worked. But for some strange reason I can access the internet when i run my pc in safe mode with networking. So how can i fix it so than i can access the internet in normal pc mode...? I've tried alot of programs and different form of resetting it in the command prompt.

So I am having issues connecting to the internet. I can connect during safe mode but not on normal boot. I ran a diagnostic and it said that the IP Gateway failed. I read a previous post and did the command promp "ipconfig/all" and this is what it said:

I have norton, and have recently run Malwarbytes, Microsoft Malicious Removal Tool, and Dell PC Tune Up
I have ran Superantispyware and malwarebytes and have not found any known issues on my comp. I am running Windows 7 starter on my netbook. Here is my hijack this log[CODE]
I recently bought a new Dell XPS Ultrabook 13 with i7 processor. It worked fine for about three weeks, then all of a sudden it refuses to connect to the internet. I am still connected to my wifi network, but the network and sharing centre shows the connection as dropped between the hub and the internet. Troubleshooter offers no answers. I know other Windows7 users have experienced this and so I have ALREADY done the following:
Tried accessing the internet in safe mode with networking. This works, so it is not a hardware issue. I can definitely access this web in this way.Rebooting my wireless router etc. I know this is not the issue though, as other devices such as my iPhone can still access the web through it (and the XPS, in safe mode)
Possible spy/mal ware. I think this is unlikely. A) the laptop is new b) I am extremely careful on what I download c) I have run repeated full system scans with both my preloaded AV software (McAfee) andMalwarebytes anti-malware. Neither has unearthed anything at all. Not a single item, and they both are checking against the latest databases.
I ran msconfig and deselected all startup programs and services except MS ones. I also downloaded and did similar through ccleaner. No joy.I checked devices through device manager. All devices seem to be working normally. No conflicts. I disabled and enabled the network wifi miniport adaptors. Again, nothing. The most frustrating thing is that I haven’t actually made any system or setting changes recently, so I don’t understand how this could suddenly have just happened. My only suggestion is that I downloaded the usual round of MS updates the other day.
I am not able to connect to any webpages in normal mode, even after restarting i still have the same problem [However it works in safe mode with networking]. The network connections show that it is connected and the signal strength is excellent. I then have to keep restarting the laptop like 3 to 4 times and it works. Its kind of frustrating to keep doing this all the time and besides i am scared by restarting the laptop so many time can harm it.
I can use MSN and SKYPE and play games in normal mode but i cant browse web pages properly. They are insanely slow or not working at all. I tried to run in safe mode and everything seems to be fine in there. I tried opera, ie, chrome, mozilla. I saw some post that telling people to run hijack and send the log file so i am sending the log file.[CODE]
I have purchased a new cisco router 3845 and i can`t start the router when i power it on in the normal mode either on the rom monitor mode.It seems it hangs up , the attached shows the last thing appear to me even if i plug on the second power. It gives no chance to enter anything in both modes.
We are in the situation we have a active configuration with ACE30 doing normal load balancing in routed mode, we have tons of rservers going out on a VIP.we now had to add a new private network to a provider that strangely enough does not want to see our public or private addresses. we need to loadbalance towards him on a priovided subnet (still rfc1918) (IOS VRF bug? is that correct?)I have two options, add the network (new interface) to the active loadbalancers (contexts) and then tie in new policies to the active serverfarms or make a new context just to load balance towards this provider.(preferred)Now - If I do this, the rservers see the client source addresses from this new provider. as the loadbalancer does not "hide" the client IP's. I would then have to add static routers toward the new context - I would want to skip that.
is there a way, to make the loadbalancer hide the client addresses towards the rservers ? perhaps I'm just needing the correct search term to find the config example.
I accidently went into bridge mode on my linksys E2500 router. I want to reset it back to normal but i'm not sure how to do it. i tried the little reset button on the router but that didn't change it.
I have a 512MB USB Flash device and was able to boot the IOS on the C2960 from it.After that i tried to Copy the IOS file from the USB to the system flash, but it could not find the USB Device. At plugging in the device the systems tells me: "Transfer type 2 not supported" I configured the USB device in NTFS and FAT both are able to boot with the ROMMON, but the normal system does not accept them and i know i can do the copy over a TFTP from my laptop, but it is strange that rommon accepts the usb device and the system does not?
I can only connect to the internet via IE9 in safemode with networking. This is my parents PC. As a side note I was able to connect in normal mode with Firefox V4 but accidentally updated to FF12 and now it won't work either. HJT log posted below. I've tried reseting and reinsatalling IE9, flushed the DNS, reset TCPIP. Still nothing.
My daughters laptop will not connect either wirelessly or via cable apart from in Safe mode with Networking. It has been working fine for over a year and she has not made any radical changes recently and all other devices in our house work and connect fine. I have run various checks including Malwarebytes and their root checker all comes back clean. It is finding the connections fine, just says No Internet access. It is a HP Pavilion g6 running Windows 7, the ipconfig /all is as follows?
Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601] Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. C:>ipconfig /all Windows IP Configuration Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : Danielle-HP Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . :
I'm having a little trouble with one of the computers on our home network. It's a desktop computer running Vista, connected to the router by cable. I'm told the internet connection was working fine one night, and the next morning, not at all.
All of our other devices (laptops, etc) connect through the wireless just fine, and I tested the wired connection on another computer with good results. The desktop computer will only connect when in safe mode. In the regular mode, it shows a local connection only, but I cannot ping the other computers in the network.
I ran full scans with McAfee, Spybot and Malwarebytes to clean out anything dodgy, but still no change. I tried turning off McAfee's firewall (and then the whole program), but that didn't make a difference, either. I'm not sure what's suddenly blocking the connection.
Here's the ipconfig/all results:

My Main computer (which has a wired connection to router) internet is running so slow, i mean so slow that i cannot even do a speed test, it keeps failing, im continuously getting server timed out messages when browsing, and to watch a youtube video of 1 minute long it will take about 5 - 10 minutes to stream it before i can watch it. However despite the above the two laptops and ipad work great, i have a braodband speed of around 16megs. Now here is everything i have done so far. After calling my ISP to se if it was their fault, which it turned out not to be, they got me to change all the DNS and IP settings to manual, they gave me all the numbers to put in. Again that did not work so i used namebench to find the quickest DNS servers for me, that didnt work ethier so i just reverted all settings back to automatic as they were before.
I have a router that needs to be reset to get the internet speed back to a usable speed. It is a fairly old router (D-LINK DSL 2730B) and it does get quite annoying. There is allot of devices connected, which may affect the speed, but I am sure it shouldn't change upon reboot. I literally reboot every hour or 2 during peek periods.
I was provided with a new wireless modem from our internet service provider (the old modem was antiquated and needed updating). After this, i have been unable to connect to the internet on my laptop on a wireless basis. I can search for the modem via the usual means and seemingly connect, but when i am connected it states that i have 'Local Access' only and i am unable to access the internet at all. I am also unable to connect to the internet on a wireless basis when in safe mode.I am however, able to connect using a Ethernet cable from the modem. My laptop is fairly old but it is fine for our needs and thus i do not really want to change it unless totally necessary. I just wonder if it is something relatively simple that i am overlooking? My son also has a more modern laptop, and he tells me that he can use the internet via our new modem without any problems. Which would suggest there is nothing wrong with the modem. The operating system is Windows Vista, if that makes any difference.
I cannot connect to the internet via my router. The router is functioning properly two other computers in the house use the router one though Ethernet cable and the other one connects wireless. Things I have done while trying to figure out the problemMade sure all windows updates were up to date Scanned for viruses and malware (none were found) Uninstall the network adapter Made sure the network adapter driver were up to date
I have noticed that when I plug the Ethernet cable from the router to the computer the led on the back of the computer panel does not blink as it does when I route directly from he cable modem.
I have tried everything - virus checks, HijackThis, disabling services and startup. I have three tabs set for home (CNN, Yahoo and Gmail). Gmail connects but I can't access any other sites. Also Outlook 2007 connects to the MS Exchange Server. The behavior is a little weird because when I first boot up, all my tabs load properly but then after a minute or two, I press the "home" button and suddenly nothing will connect (except Gmail, which still continues to connect). All has been fine for years and then all of a sudden this happened when I returned from a business trip (had the computer with me and everything was fine). I have ruled out router and other connection issues. In Safe Mode, the connections are just fine. As a last resort, I may reinstall XP but I would obviously prefer not to.I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T400, running XP SP3.

I have a laptop (let me call it A) with Intel Centrino 1030-N wireless (iwlwifi module), running Arch Linux, and another laptop (I will call it B) with Atheros AR928X wireless (ath9k module), running Ubuntu 11.10. They connect to a wireless network provided by a D-Link DI-524 router (802.11g), which in turn connects to a DSL modem (10Mbps/1Mbps link)
Copying files between those machines, either through scp or mounting a share via NFS or Samba, is very slow (at most 200 KB/s) and sometimes fails (times out), even when both machines are inches away from the router. However, downloading files on either machine works correctly at the expected speeds (~1.2 MB/s).
I ran iperf, as recommended in a comment, and it gave me this: [code] The bandwidth is very low, as can be seen from those results.
My Compaq Presario V2000 (HP) using Win-xp3 will only connect to the internet using safe mode. When trying to connect in normal mode a message appears saying I cannot display webpage and what I can try is diagnose connection problems. When I click on diagnose problems it tells me that Windows cannot troubleshoot network connection because an error has occured.
i got a Dir-655 router and Dell 1501 wireless -N mini PCI card (802.11 bgn compliant). Router was set to mix mode but my desktop Dell XP8300 can connect only till G mode.
1) I search on web and some said that i need to set my router to N mode only for my desktop to connect to N mode. IS THIS SOLUTION CORRECT??
2) Another issue was my sis got other old brand latop which can only connect to B mode, if i set to N mode only, she won't be able to connect it right?
i new in this forum,i just want to know it that possible we can configure the normal wireless modem?.From my knowledge we can configure manually for cisco router or switch at pc by doing on hyper terminal. It that normal wireless modem can be configure using hyper terminal?.
I have a KASDA KD318MI ADSL Router. But it doesn't have wireless capabilities so I use an another router, which is aforementioned DIR 635. When I configure it as DHCP and connect to internet manually, from my desktop connection, its ok.
But when I try to make a PPPoE connection on D-link, it won't connect. I am no expert on routers, but I am trying to learn. I tried everything. Factory reset, updating firmware, then factory reset.

when im on my laptop and im on the internet, the connection goes from normal to Limited (yellow triangle caution sign by connection),non of the pages will load after that,i use diagnostics repair to fix the problem which works about 40% of the time, but is only temporary again.give it 5 minutes after the fix it happens again, diagnostics say the problem is with the wireless adapter card which is built into the laptop itself.i do and dont think this may be the cause since everything house loads perfectly fine but can have the occasional drop out aswell,on average i'd say it drops out about 10 times a day and i find it kind of frustrating. My Laptop is a Acer Aspire v3-531.My internet is with Virgin Media and i get around 60 MBps with them but the disconnections drop it to about 7mbps and keeps going down till the connection is actually gone.
P.S:The intel Proset wireless framework on this computer fails the hardware test straight saying the wirless hardware is not bound to the transport driver? what do i do?
I'm planning to replace my flaky minipcie wifi and I need advice about the antenna. My laptop has two sets of antenna, one for 3G WWAN and the other is for normal wifiAccording to the labels, both is "Main" and "Aux". The card that I'm planning to get is an Intel 5300 which has 3 antennas.Since the normal wifi only has two antennas, can I use the 3G WWAN as a third antenna? If yes, should I plug in the "Main" or the "Aux"? If no, Should I buy those additonal antennas in Ebay for the 3rd one?
I was having an issue with Comcast phone and internet services.Comcast had me disconnect and reconnect my modem and router. When service came back to normal one of my network connections was no longer available to me. I have two connections (one for use at my home which is a secured one) and one I use when I go to my sons home. My computer now only allows me to connect to a network called "Linksys" which may be available to the public. The connection I want to use shows up if I go to control Panel/View Network Status/Manage wireless network, and it is the first choice on the list, but the computer always uses the unsecured "Linksys". I'm afraid to do my banking over that network but I'm also afraid to start fooling with it and having no network. [code]
I am having difficulty uploading files on the internet because the speeds are so slow. My download speed is 23.88 MBPS, bu upload is .3 mbps. This seems to be a recent problem. The other computers on the network get upload speeds of 5mbps and do not have any problem, so I think there is some problem unique to this computer, and not a network problem. I can't back up my files because the speed is too slow.
One day, my rv042 started emitting a very high pitched sound. The lights will flash upon powerup, but not act normal (indicate link, etc). The router cannot be accessed at all.I changed the power supply to a known working one to eliminate that--didn't work.
