I have purchased a new cisco router 3845 and i can`t start the router when i power it on in the normal mode either on the rom monitor mode.It seems it hangs up , the attached shows the last thing appear to me even if i plug on the second power.It gives no chance to enter anything in both modes.
View 4 RepliesI am not able to connect to any webpages in normal mode, even after restarting i still have the same problem [However it works in safe mode with networking]. The network connections show that it is connected and the signal strength is excellent. I then have to keep restarting the laptop like 3 to 4 times and it works. Its kind of frustrating to keep doing this all the time and besides i am scared by restarting the laptop so many time can harm it.

I have restored some issues with damaged registry and the system seems to be working great other than I cannot get a strong connection to the internet. It will open up when I first log on, but then the connection is intermittent at best. If I log into safe mode with networking then the connection is perfect, no problems. What I can do to restore the connection to the internet?

When I normally start my pc i cant access the internet. I use the built in diagnostic problem program. First it tell me to reset my winsock cause somethings wrong with it, and I do, but then after i restart my pc i still can't connect to internet . So i run the diagnostic thing again and it says something like "contact the person that manages your windows product support or go online to support.microsoft.com/winxp" and I did and nothing worked. But for some strange reason I can access the internet when i run my pc in safe mode with networking. So how can i fix it so than i can access the internet in normal pc mode...? I've tried alot of programs and different form of resetting it in the command prompt.

I have the settings configured correctly in IOS, but the AP takes about 7 minutes to come on (illuminate LED status lights) once the Ethernet cable is connected. Is this 7 minute power-on delay normal when using POE? I am used to the instanteous "on" that usually comes with Cisco products being connected directly to the AC adapter.

power-redudancy mode redundant
The problem is that an inserted module is in "power deny" state due too insufficient power.
I know, that It's not a good idea to change into combined mode (loss of redundancy), but my customers requested this anyway.
So I will change to combined mode. So here's the 1 million dollar question: "Which modules will go into power deny, if one of my power supplies fails?"
The 6500 config guide states:
"Power supply is removed withredundancy disabled
• System log and syslog messages are generated.
• System power is decreased to the power capability of one supply.
• If there is not enough power for all previously powered-up modules, some modulesare powered down and marked as power-deny in the show power oper state field."
Well, do you know if there's any way to configure some kind of priority? E.g. I definetly don't want by 10Gig Module or WiSM module to be in power deny. Can i statically make sure, those module will be powered on for sure? Like: "power enable module slot_number" How is this calculated? Or is random?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe are in the situation we have a active configuration with ACE30 doing normal load balancing in routed mode, we have tons of rservers going out on a VIP.we now had to add a new private network to a provider that strangely enough does not want to see our public or private addresses. we need to loadbalance towards him on a priovided subnet (still rfc1918) (IOS VRF bug? is that correct?)I have two options, add the network (new interface) to the active loadbalancers (contexts) and then tie in new policies to the active serverfarms or make a new context just to load balance towards this provider.(preferred)Now - If I do this, the rservers see the client source addresses from this new provider. as the loadbalancer does not "hide" the client IP's. I would then have to add static routers toward the new context - I would want to skip that.
is there a way, to make the loadbalancer hide the client addresses towards the rservers ? perhaps I'm just needing the correct search term to find the config example.

So I am having issues connecting to the internet. I can connect during safe mode but not on normal boot. I ran a diagnostic and it said that the IP Gateway failed. I read a previous post and did the command promp "ipconfig/all" and this is what it said:

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a new Dell XPS Ultrabook 13 with i7 processor. It worked fine for about three weeks, then all of a sudden it refuses to connect to the internet. I am still connected to my wifi network, but the network and sharing centre shows the connection as dropped between the hub and the internet. Troubleshooter offers no answers. I know other Windows7 users have experienced this and so I have ALREADY done the following:
Tried accessing the internet in safe mode with networking. This works, so it is not a hardware issue. I can definitely access this web in this way.Rebooting my wireless router etc. I know this is not the issue though, as other devices such as my iPhone can still access the web through it (and the XPS, in safe mode)

A) the laptop is new b) I am extremely careful on what I download c) I have run repeated full system scans with both my preloaded AV software (McAfee) andMalwarebytes anti-malware. I have a 512MB USB Flash device and was able to boot the IOS on the C2960 from it.After that i tried to Copy the IOS file from the USB to the system flash, but it could not find the USB Device.At plugging in the device the systems tells me: "Transfer type 2 not supported" I configured the USB device in NTFS and FAT both are able to boot with the ROMMON, but the normal system does not accept them and i know i can do the copy over a TFTP from my laptop, but it is strange that rommon accepts the usb device and the system does not?

I have been unable to find specific power requirements detailing the requirements with 1 ethernet module, 2, etc.
I am trying to implement RBSCP on two 3845s running 15.1(4)M1 Adv Enterprise over a satellite link. The "show" commands all look correct, but whenever I policy route my machine through the RBSCP tunnel I dont even make it to the opposite side. However, if I remove the "tunnel mode RBSCP" command so it acts like a regular GRE tunnel, I route through it just fine. So I know its not a NAT, routing issue. [code]
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have two 6500s. One is running in power redundant mode and the other is running in combined mode.We need to change the one running in combined mode to redundant mode to ensure it can run ok on one supply if needed but I have a couple of questions.
1. Assuming that we are not oversubscribed on the power allocated, does changing the mode cause any disruption?
2. The switch running in combined mode seems to have allocated some power for an "Inline Local-Pwr-Pool" which is not allocated on the switch running in redundant mode (see attached). Does this allocation will be needed if we change the power mode?
What do the broadcom power saving mode settings mean? If power saving mode is enabled, what is the time it takes to go into power saving mode? What does fast mean?

1) Let say our specific 6500 switch's configuration requires 1000 watts. We have two power supplies p1 and p2 ,each with rated power of 500 watts. Both power supplies must operate in combined mode. Will power supplies be able to meet the total load power requirement of 1000 watts?
Here is my understanding :The maximum power delivered by each power supplies is 83 percent of its rated power, assuming power supplies are running in combined mode.
So Maximum power delivered by power supplies
= 83% of p1+ 83% of p2
= 83% of 500 + 83% of 500
= 415 +415
=830 watts
Thus the required load of 1000 watts can not be met by our power supplies in combined mode.
2 )Suppose our switch's switch configuration needs 500 watts. Again our power supplies each rated with 500 watts, are configured for combined mode. How much power is being delivered by each power supply? Is it 83 percent of the total load i.e 500 watts?
We have a cisco catalyst 6509 with Supervisor Engine . After power outage, the switch always start in Rommon mode. Configuration register is 0X2102, we want to it always start in normal mode. What should i do?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an odd problem with the FTP server. I currently hooked up a 250GB portable HDD which is formatted in NTFS. A single folder in the root of the drive is mounted as the FTP server. Every time I upload a zip or far, the file comes out ends up being uploaded corrupt and double the original file size. I have used 2 FTP clients, using either ASCII or binary. No matter how I go about it, I can't make the files upload at the normal file size. Its not just archives, however, I tried an mp3 and it too got uploaded corrupt and double the size. I then downloaded the mp3 to try and play it but it didn't play in windows media player. However I loaded the 'corrupt mp3 into audacity and the file played like normal.
