Cisco Wireless :: WAP4410N Not Saving Settings
Sep 5, 2012I just recieved a WAP4410N and managed to log in to the web interface. It is not allowing me to change many settings. I try to change the wireless network mode and click on save and it goes back to disabled again.
P.S. I have just upgraded the firmware to 2.0.3.3 and tried to set it back to the factory defaults. neither worked.

Whenever I enter all the info for a port forward under NAT in the virtual server tab, I click 'save' and nothing happens; chrome and firefox both give the same result.If I go to a different screen after pressing save and then come back to NAT settings, there's no entry updates and no port forwards.Should I install a different firmware (I can't find a newer version to install) or is NAT not supposed to work under PVC2? If I don't enter proper info (like leave the ports blank) I get an error if I press 'save', asking me to finish entering all the required info.

Apr 17, 2012On a Microsoft xp network when we log off or shut down (randomly) users will have their computers lock or freeze at saving settings. The network is school district with around 1000 computers total.
-We think it is an issue with DNS or DHCP but we can not find anything only about our issue.
-It occurs randomly, but seems to target certain machines more. In a lab about 3 quarters of the computers are not affected and the other quarter will have it happen, but not every time. It will happen on student, teacher, and admin accounts.
-It has "spread" to 3 buildings now. At first it seemed to be an issues at one building but over the course of a week two new buildings are affected.
-No major changes in our network over the past month either.
3com Router Not Saving Settings
Mar 6, 2013I have 3com router and it is working fine. The issue is that when I am taking the router out of the electricity and reenter it back it will not save my settings and I will have to log in again to change the settings.

Jan 23, 2013When I change a setup setting and click save settings, most of the time it gets stuck on the "saving..." notification window and eventually I get a "Internet Explorer cannot display the web page" notification. However I have found that if I repeatedly try it eventually it will accept the change. This never happens using the wizards only making manual changes. I am running the camera with a Wi-Fi connection. I am not sure this is a router or camera firmware bug (running V1.12)

Mar 2, 2007I'm trying to get my local MAC address changed for Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx adapter in D620 running winXP. Based on Broadcom advice this should be pretty straightforward.In Microsoft Windows, right-click the Network Adapter in Network Connections and then click Properties. Click the Configure button and then the General tab. Configure the "Locally Administered Address" parameter by assigning a unique node address for the adapter. Netware: The Mac Address is configured by the adding Node=XXXXXXXXXXXX parameter to driver load command line in the AUTOEXEC.NCF file, where XXXXXXXXXXXX is the Locally Administered address.
However after clicking "configure" in "general" tab I see only "Driver Details, Update Driver, Roll Back Driver, Uninstall" buttons, on "advanced" tab I see "802.1p QOS", "Flow Control" "Speed and Duplex" and "Wake up Capabilities", however I CAN'T see "Locally Administered Address".I've tried :
- reinstalling drivers, at the moment using latest from Broadcom, from 2006-12-15
- reinstalling Dell's drivers
- installing Broadcom's Control suite

Nov 27, 2011We have a Power Edge T310, sporting two Broadcom 5716C LOM's. We also have a Power Connect 5524 switch. Good opportunity to team the two network connections using 'Link Aggregation (802.3ad)'. Downloaded the most recent management software off the Broad com site. Installed BACS 3 on the Power Edge, running Windows SBS 2011, which has Windows Server 2008 r2 x64 as it's base.
Started BACS and tried to configure teaming. But there's no teaming-section in BACS. I removed, restarted the server and re-installed the Broad com software, but still no teaming section? How do I solve this?
Cisco Switching/Routing :: 6500 - Power-Redundancy Mode Combined And Power Fail
Feb 28, 2011I have a 6500 chassis with 2 power supplies. At the moment I am using the default configuration:
power-redudancy mode redundant
The problem is that an inserted module is in "power deny" state due too insufficient power.
I know, that It's not a good idea to change into combined mode (loss of redundancy), but my customers requested this anyway.
So I will change to combined mode. So here's the 1 million dollar question: "Which modules will go into power deny, if one of my power supplies fails?"
The 6500 config guide states:
"Power supply is removed withredundancy disabled
• System log and syslog messages are generated.
• System power is decreased to the power capability of one supply.
• If there is not enough power for all previously powered-up modules, some modulesare powered down and marked as power-deny in the show power oper state field."
Well, do you know if there's any way to configure some kind of priority? E.g. I definetly don't want by 10Gig Module or WiSM module to be in power deny. Can i statically make sure, those module will be powered on for sure? Like: "power enable module slot_number" How is this calculated? Or is random?

Oct 14, 2012I am looking for the Maximum Power Settings Spec for the 3600 AP. The one from 2008 is too old. Does an update exist? The AP Spec itself does not show power levels by channel and regulatory domain which is what I need. If I can't get the spec, I will have to query the AP using "show ap config 802.11x apname" for each config I need.

Mar 17, 2013We hav ea 5508 pair running in HA mode. Initially the conrollers were running the 73..101.0 code. We were having issues where the primary controller would software reset (according to show sysinfo), the secondary (HA SKU) would take over and then after a few hours the secondary would also software reset and the primary would take over. Also I notice that after this happens that the Tx Power Control doesn't seem to adjust the A radio settings, most of the radios are at the 6 level. Normally they are 1, 2, or 3. Last week I upgraded to 7.3.112.0, later that day the same thing happened.

Jan 27, 2013I upgraded my 3602i survey ap the other day to the public image the other day and I have to say.. I've got it up and going of course, but I have a concern on the transmit power settings. Originally, the only option it gave me was MAX and -4, which I hadn't seen before, interesting.. -4 of what? 20? 17 probably or I though? At any rate, I went into the CLI to set the power manually, no issues there, though my options are not what I expected, maxing out at 25mw basically, which is fine but.. in setting it manually in CLI, the web interface reports an Error on transmit power. So.. does this work or not? Any survey with this image to verify it's power settings? 15.2(23c)

Dec 19, 2010I recently bought the WAG320N and initial setup (Wizard) went fine ....(I selected all the defaults as presented to me so I did not afterwards modify anything on the settings)However ...when powering off (and back on) the device , my Dreambox Sattelite units (DM500) could not get access to the internet anymore (outbound) on port 12000.All other internet traffic went fine ...through browser, wireless, ...all Ok.....I tried everything to resolve but ultimately only succeeded in re-configuring from sracth. powered off the device and brought it back up ....same symptons.Did a hard-reset (back to factory defaults), reconfigured through wizard and ...all Ok again .....until I powered the device off and back on .....I have come to a point now where I excluded all possible 'surrounding' disturbing factors (eliminated switches etc ....and only connected 1 Dreambox unit directly to the device) and ....same symptons ....when powering off/on, the dreambox cannot get out anymore and re-configuring from sracth resolves ....until the next power off/on.And ...it is really the power off/on handling (reboot procedure WAG320N ?) that is causing it .....(I disconnected the DSL line and put it back in , forcing the modem to reconnect DSL and then all still works Ok ). ? It seems as if certain -internal- settings get lost after a power shutdown.....but why specifically port 12000 ?

Dec 4, 2011Our DIR-615 has started freezing and when reset (power cycled), it reverts to factory settings.This has been running 24/7 for several months with no problem. Three days in a row now I've woken up to find our home network is down and the DIR-615 status lights are "yellow". Power cycling the DIR615 resolves the problem however the DIR-615 looses its settings, reverting to factory defaults (looses the admin password, wireless settings, etc). I can reload the settings from a file saved on my computer but needless to say, this is a bit annoying. I don't believe there are any wireless clients connected at the time as most of the wireless is served by an airport two floors up. There are several wired devices always connected:
a Zoom ATA carrying our "land line"
a tivo (doing whatever tivo boxes do)
a SSL based Voip phone (different than the zoom ata)
an AirPort Express 802.11n (bridge mode) which may have a couple of wireless clients
a laptop which may or may not be sleeping at the time
There are a couple of ethernet switches in the network.Some of the devices acquire addresses via DHCP, others are assigned fixed addresses outside the range of the DHCP addresses served by the DIR-615.Nothing has changed on the network in months.
The only settings I've messed with on the DIR-615 are:
a) set the admin/user passwords
b) Set the wireless network name, enable WPA, set the WPA Key
c) enabled ntp (this is now disabled and I've set the time manually)
d) Change the network base from 192.168.0. to 192.168.4.
The DIR-615 is hardware rev E3, Firmware 5.10 The cable modem (from RCN) is a Scientific American model DPC2100R2

D-Link DAP-1522 :: Bridge Mode Connection Settings?
Apr 25, 2012I currently have a DAP1522 in Bridge mode with a DIR655. I am only using the 2.4GHz G mode on my 655. In a few days I will be replacing the 655 with an 825. When I log into the 1522 I don't see any settings for Mode, Frequency or Width (while in Bridge mode). The page for wireless setup is blank except for the "Save Settings" button. When I look at the 655, it appears that the 1522 is connected (bridged) at 2.4 GHz G like I would expect. So, when I install the 825 how do I make it connect at 5GHz N or will that be automatic if my SSID on the N mode of the 825 matches SSID on the 1522?

Oct 2, 2012We have two 6500s. One is running in power redundant mode and the other is running in combined mode.We need to change the one running in combined mode to redundant mode to ensure it can run ok on one supply if needed but I have a couple of questions.
1. Assuming that we are not oversubscribed on the power allocated, does changing the mode cause any disruption?
2. The switch running in combined mode seems to have allocated some power for an "Inline Local-Pwr-Pool" which is not allocated on the switch running in redundant mode (see attached). Does this allocation will be needed if we change the power mode?

This allows for greater utilization of the power supplies and potentially increased PoE densities
1) Let say our specific 6500 switch's configuration requires 1000 watts. We have two power supplies p1 and p2 ,each with rated power of 500 watts. Both power supplies must operate in combined mode. Will power supplies be able to meet the total load power requirement of 1000 watts?
Here is my understanding :The maximum power delivered by each power supplies is 83 percent of its rated power, assuming power supplies are running in combined mode.
So Maximum power delivered by power supplies
= 83% of p1+ 83% of p2
= 83% of 500 + 83% of 500
= 415 +415
=830 watts
Thus the required load of 1000 watts can not be met by our power supplies in combined mode.
2 )Suppose our switch's switch configuration needs 500 watts. Again our power supplies each rated with 500 watts, are configured for combined mode. How much power is being delivered by each power supply? Is it 83 percent of the total load i.e 500 watts?

My wireless stopped working. I had problems in the past, not sure how I got to work then. But the other day after handling the modem/router-combo, I guess it became unplugged. I plugged it back in and have not had wireless since. I turned off computer, restarted. My wireless network is not even listed. I can connect vie ethernet. No adapter is listed under Broadcom Wireless.
Broadcom 802.11 B/g Wireless Networks Not Found?
Jan 10, 2012I have a compaq presario V5000 with Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN installed. I recently tried to set up Wireless connection and "No Wireless Networks are available". My roommate has no problem connecting to the Wireless Network so I don't think its a problem with the router/modem. Also, I am unable to detect ANY networks (neighbors etc.).I have installed most recent driver (Driver 5.60.350.6)

Cisco Wireless :: 1252 - WCS Reports AP Draws Low Power - With Correct Power Injector
Jul 21, 2011I keep getting alerts from our WCS stating that our 1252s are drawing low power. Now I am aware that they require enhanced PoE (up to 20W) but as we only have standard PoE in that building we purchased the 1252 series power injectors to go with them.
However, even with the correct power injectors the WCS still reports the draws low power error.
Is this a bug? Running WCS 7.0.172 at the moment.
Forgot to say we are using the PWR-INJ4 and the injector status is enabled and you see the injector MAC address when you drill in to the AP status.
Wireless :: Broadcom 802.11n Fails To Pick Up Internet Signals?
Apr 6, 2011My laptop will work on a wired connction just fine, however it fails to pick up wireless internet signals. It will either not find the signal, or not connect to it unless I have my laptop wired with an ethernet cable. My network adapter is a Broadcom 802.11n. I have tried updating the driver, and multiple different routers/connections.(Yes the adapter is enabled to search for connections, it just doesnt find them unless I have it wired)
