I just recieved a WAP4410N and managed to log in to the web interface. It is not allowing me to change many settings. I try to change the wireless network mode and click on save and it goes back to disabled again.
P.S. I have just upgraded the firmware to 2.0.3.3 and tried to set it back to the factory defaults. neither worked.
What do the broadcom power saving mode settings mean? If power saving mode is enabled, what is the time it takes to go into power saving mode? What does fast mean?

Whenever I enter all the info for a port forward under NAT in the virtual server tab, I click 'save' and nothing happens; chrome and firefox both give the same result.If I go to a different screen after pressing save and then come back to NAT settings, there's no entry updates and no port forwards.Should I install a different firmware (I can't find a newer version to install) or is NAT not supposed to work under PVC2? If I don't enter proper info (like leave the ports blank) I get an error if I press 'save', asking me to finish entering all the required info.
There are several features that don't work and are returning errors. For starters, when trying to save settings for media/device prioritization I am receiving a 2123 error message. Unable to save settings. EA4500/N900 Router, Cisco Cloud Connect.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOn a Microsoft xp network when we log off or shut down (randomly) users will have their computers lock or freeze at saving settings. The network is school district with around 1000 computers total.
-We think it is an issue with DNS or DHCP but we can not find anything only about our issue.
-It occurs randomly, but seems to target certain machines more. In a lab about 3 quarters of the computers are not affected and the other quarter will have it happen, but not every time. It will happen on student, teacher, and admin accounts.
-It has "spread" to 3 buildings now. At first it seemed to be an issues at one building but over the course of a week two new buildings are affected.
-No major changes in our network over the past month either.
I have 3com router and it is working fine. The issue is that when I am taking the router out of the electricity and reenter it back it will not save my settings and I will have to log in again to change the settings.

How the heck do you save these settings so I don't have to enter them all the time. I know you can save the network profiles but does this save static settings assigned to the wireless nic?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I change a setup setting and click save settings, most of the time it gets stuck on the "saving..." notification window and eventually I get a "Internet Explorer cannot display the web page" notification. However I have found that if I repeatedly try it eventually it will accept the change. This never happens using the wizards only making manual changes. I am running the camera with a Wi-Fi connection. I am not sure this is a router or camera firmware bug (running V1.12)

I have purchased two sets of WAP4410N and i need this to connect as wireless bridge to use our external office users(1 or Max 2) which is just beside our office building to surf our internet and retrieve data from our main server.
I ordered a pair of WAP4410N to use as a bridge for a split office. So far they have worked without a hitch but the throughput is less than stellar and I was wondering what the recommended configuration was for best performance (and how much speed could be expected in general) out of these two? The two nodes are separated by about 25 yards across a parking lot with direct LoS to the other, placed inside a window mounted on the wall -elevated at about 10' so cars in the lot outside do not block visibility. At best the throughput I've seen is 1megabyte/sec, and that seems very slow/clunky to me for the 802.11n specification. Am I missing some setting, updated firmware, or physical setup (AC power instead of PoE for better antenna output maybe?) to have such limited performance?
I have a simple wireless network that works fine, except for one room where the signal is too low. So I purchased a WAP4410N to use as a range extender. provide the exact settings that are need to set this up? I have tried many, many different configurations, and I can't get it to work properly. In particular, it will not give me an IP address and therefore won't connect. Also, is it important to use the SAME SSID name? or better to use a different name so as not to confuse the two signals (base unit vs repeater (4410)).
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe've had this AP for just over a year and just recently it started dropping its wireless connection. To fix, I have to and unplug the power and then plug it back in.. Then it works again for a few hours and drops out again. If I navigate to the config page right after it drops, all of the settings seem to be completely gone. But if I go through and unplug/plug it in again, all of the settings are back.
I updated the firmware to 2.0.4.2, but that didn't seem to resolve the problem. Is this thing a brick now?
I received WAP4410N-G5 AP with 2.0.2.1 firmware and set up it very easily. Never experienced a single signal drop in a few days.
After updating firmware to 2.0.4.2 version I am completly unable to make any changes! If I press on "Enable" or "Disable" all settings will be lost after I apply them and neither "Enabled" nor "Disabled" is selected.
Had to revert back to 2.0.2.1. Is my AP faulty?
I bought my self a WRT120N as my wireless router for my house. and not a long ago i bought the WAP4410N, for my repeater (after i ask to some people).my house were concrete wall, it have about 15-20cm thick, and we try to avoid any wired LAN. I have the following equipment:
Cisco 871W router
2x WAP 4410N APs running 2.0.3.3
I currently have 1 AP connected to the router via copper. The AP to AP link is over 802.11. I have attached a diagram reflecting the current topology.
The AP-to-AP link will come up utilizing B/G/N mixed mode; however, the connection is basically unusable. About 30% of the traffic is dropped, while the packets that do make it have a consistently volatile latency, anywhere from 15 to 1500 ms. I have had success using G-only and B/G mixed. The link is stable (I have had the best results with B/G). The problem is, I didn't buy the 2nd 4410N to run the G protocol. I would like to connect the APs running either B/G/N (hopefully negotiating to N) or N only. I am wondering if there is a certain configuration I can utilize (perhaps using WDS repeater or bridge versus Wireless Client/Repeater?), or a firmware upgrade set for release that can make this happen for me.
I have a wireless deployment using a 5508 controller and 90+ LAP1142N lightweight access points.Everything is going relatively well, except I have about 3 that do not keep their config (hostname and AP group) past a reboot of the access point.When they do come up after a reboot, they go back to the default hostname of the mac address and are placed in the default-group AP group.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSamsung blu ray BD5700 is not saving the security key to my cisco lynksys router model E1000 after blu ray is powered off. I have spoken with samsung and followed their reconfiguration instructions which did not work. They suggested something was wrong with my blu ray player. I returned the blu ray to the store and exchanged for the same model hoping it was a problem with that device but the new blu ray is doing the same thing. I spoke with cisco lynksys support but they won't assist b/c my lynksys customer support has expired

I am attempting to open port 25565 though both Single Port Forwarding and Port Range Forwarding, and whenever I click the "save settings" button, I receive a full window message stating that my changes have been saved. Upon clicking this, I return to the previous screen whereupon my changes have been erased and my port has not been forwarded. Linksys E1200 Router not saving Port Forwarding changes.I have tried:
-Restarting the Modem
-Restarting the browser
-Restarting the computer
-Tried to Port Forward through both the Single and Ranged Port Forwarding
I'm having 1841 Router, its configuration is not getting safed. If I reboot the router all my running-config is like default. But when I check my sh startup all the configuration which I did is displayed. Checked the config-registery too and its 0x2142 changed too 0x2102 still the same problem, when reloading the router all the running config is disappeared.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was configuring a new Catalyst 2960 switch and had forgotten to set the speed back to 9600 after downloading the new IOS software image. I finished doing all of my configurations and went in to line con 0 to change the speed back to 9600. The change was accepted and I did a 'wr' to save the change, but when I reload the switch it is back to 115200.

I did some stuff on it but that didn't work, so I rebooted the router to go back to my last saved startup config. When I turned it back on and connected t othe CLI console I got the "Would you like to enter the initial configuration dialogue?" message. Thinikng I just forgot to save anything to the startup config I went through the initial set up again and made sure to save everything to the startup config. After going through the intial config and setting up a vlan to assign DHCP to clients I saved the config and rebooted, upon reboot and connecting to the CLI console I got the same "Would you like to enter the initial configuration dialogue?" message. Tryign the setup once more and making sure everything was saved to startup config I rebooted again just to make sure the changes would stick, and sure enough they didn't. Whay is the config not saving to the startup config?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a number of SFE2000 10/100 24 port POE switches. They are configured and running OK. I want to be able to save the configuration and be able to load that saved configuration into another new swich in the case of a failure.
I have logged in and gone to Admin-File Management-Save Configuration. I then select the 'Backup' radio button and TFTP the configuration to my TFTP server. All works OK and I have a readable text file with the switch configuration on my TFTP server.
I want to be able to restore that saved configuration on to a new switch. I have set the new switch back to factory defaults. I go to Admin-File Management-Save Configuration. I then select the 'Upgrade' radio button and try and uploade the file into the switch. If load to 'Running Configuration' the switch shows a status of 'Copy Finished' but says 'Copy completed with errors' If load to 'Startup Configuration' the switch shows a status of 'Copy Failed' and says 'Copy completed with errors'
I am guessing I should be able to load my saved Configuration back into a switch, shouldn't I??
And yes the switches are running the same firmware 3.0.0.17
I'm running LMS3.2 and RME 4.3.1. I deployed a netconfig job to our network which consisted of approximately 800 devices.The report said that the job completed successfully however some of the devices didn't save thier running config to startup.
Is it possible to add a command or issue another netconfig job just to save the running config, so I can identify if the job fails on some devices? Using the tick box in the netconfig job doesn't seem to alert you if its not successful.
I am trying to put a link on our Intranet page to several documents that are updated daily by specific users. These users save the documents in their department folders, which are only acessible by their department and I.T. (me). Right now I have a .bat file that checks every half hour of the work day to see if it has been updated, if it has it will be moved to a location in the Intranet folder which will update the link on the Intranet. While users can view the Intranet, they do not have access to view the files or folders that house the Intranet html coding etc.This option works but our users are complaining that it isn't instantaneous. Any ideas how I can do this on a network while keeping everyone's security in place and not give them extra rights to the Intranet folders?

What i have: An SGE 2010 48 port switch, firmware 3.0.0.17 Firmware upgrade: In order to ensure im not having problems due to old firmware, i tried to upgrade using ros_ls1_bp_ge_bx-3020.ros in order to move to 3.0.2, when uploading the file via TFTP, the upload completes and thats it, nothing happens.Restarting the device: As part of the upgrade process, i thought i might of had to reboot, so i rebooted, and found that all my settings were wiped clean, as if a factory reset had been performed.... and add further to pain, the backup of settings that i had taken do not seem to want to re-apply.NAP support: So i have tested my NPS (radius) server with NTRadping.exe and all is good, however i cannot get the SGE2010 to talk to it.... the authenticator state in the web interface is always listed as initialising.... im not sure if this is a simple incompatibility (hence the attempt at a firmware upgrade), a tag that needs to be set on the radius side or a switch misconfig.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 1711 Catalyst router hooked up behind a cable modem. I configured the router, copied running-config to start up-config then wrote it to memory with "write mem". I unplugged router to move it and when I plugged it back in, I had to start from scratch.
Is this normal, or should router be able to save configuration if powered down?
BTW, I'm using Putty to access router console. Is that the hot setup for Windows 7 or is there something better?
I currently am trying to program the config for a 1720 router however i cannot get the config to stick. I boot up to the command prompt put in all the configurations use the "write mem" command and then hard reset the router but when it boots back up I get the initial system configuation dialog.
I have tried booting to the rommon prompt and typing "confreg" and following the prompts keeping all options set to no except for this setting
"enable "ignore system config info"? y/n [n]: Y"
Is set to yes. but when i get to the end of the config it just loops and starts over with
"you wish to change the configuration? y/n [n]: Y"
If i choose yes it loops if I choose no it goes back to the rommon prompt.
When I try to save the configuration it displays the following error.Is it due to insufficient memory?
