So I just set it in the PCI slot correctly but there's no way for me to screw the card in place. I know my MOBO is set properly. My graphics card fits perfectly.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to learn a little about Cisco router setup, since I'm fairly well versed in configuration. I have an 1841 w/ K9 that I'd like to set up as a WAN Router to hot swap if one of ours goes down. I installed a VWIC2-1MFT-T1/E1 MultiFlex card in Slot 1 of the router.
Currently, if I run a "show diag", the VWIC2-1MFT-T1/E1 shows up in Slot 1 but in the configuration I can't see it or configure it. Am I missing an enable or something? I thought I had to declare card type but I can only do that on the existing card, the router doesn't seem to recognize that the card is there in any place other than "show diag".

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have cisco 4510R L3 switch with installed 2 Sup on slot 5 and 6. the current active Sup is in Slot5 i want to make active Sup6 in slot 6 which is currently standby sup in chassis. Is there any way to make standby Sup to ACTIVE without reloading any of the Supervisor. however there is two way as per my understanding -
1. we can reload the active Sup so that standby Sup will take charge. - (redundancy reload shelf)
2. we can focefully switchover the state of Sup's by (redundancy forcefully swithover) but in above both cases reload will be performed by one of the supervisor. which i don't want.
There is a cisco ws-c6509,recently it appear error log “%FABRIC-SP-6-TIMEOUT_ERR: Fabric in slot 5 reported timeout error for channel 11 (Module 3, fabric connection 1)”. View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently had to completely gut my computer and start from scratch, reinstalling windows xp, and all hardware. I only have a basic knowledge of computers, and their inner workings. I had my modem connected to my computer via ethernet, and i enjoyed fast browsing. Since the rebuild, i can only use the usb (and it's sloooooow!). I have learnt all i know about drivers because of this issue.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI cannot access internet through my ethernet. There is nothing wrong with the cable and the router is completely fine.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSimple enough, my computer is connected to my modem/router hybrid but it will NOT connect to the internet. The router is providing internet just fine (I am currently typing this on my laptop using internet from that same laptop). I have tried everything. I've tried the different ports on the router, I've tried different ethernet cables, I've even had the modem/router replaced. None of this has worked, so I am convinced that it is somehow a problem with the settings of the computer which will simply not connect to the internet.
The computer will connect to the router (I can login and fiddle around with settings). I've tried re-installing the ethernet card's driver (it's built into my mobo). I've tried inputting IP and DNS servers manually, but nothing works.
Here is a copy of my ipconfig and my ipconfig /all.

I recently acquired a new mobo to tide me over until I can get the spare money to order a new one (which probably won't be until after the first of the year) however, the board, while better than what I had, has some problems hence why I got it so "cheaply". The problems I had with it have been fixable/liveable with. Anyways, here's a description of my problem and some brief applicable system specs.
The ethernet port on this board was bad, knew that from purchase date. However I ordered a brand new card (10/100MB NIC PCI Ethernet Card), installed it, and the drivers all loaded, and the card is listed as working properly. I have no internet connection or network connection even listed. The way my system runs is as follows.
Computer/Ethernet Card -> Cat5 -> ASUS Router -> Cat6 -> ISP Router -> Outside
I have tried hard lining it direct from the ISP Router as well to no avail.I've even tried using the ipconfig.exe commands. Including /release, /flushdns, /renew. But, whenever I open the DOS panel with the command it just disappears in a millisecond.I know the PCI port on the board isn't bad because I literally just removed my USB expansion card from it to install this one. I even tried switching it with the other 2 PCI cards I have installed and they all work perfectly so it's not the PCI slot.
I've recently bought a new computer with a wireless card. However, the wireless signal is terrible, so I'm looking to try and get my PC plugged directly into my rooter (or by other means).
Do I have any other options of doing this, other than a wire from my rooter to my PC. Is there any other solution which enables me not have to plug into my rooter directly?? (as my rooter is in an awkward spot and has to stay there). Can I plug into an ADSL port for example? Or any other alternatives???
I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to anything to do with networks, internet access, LAN etc etc.
In my college dorm, there are ethernet plugs in the wall. Yesterday, the internet was working fine, but today, when I tried using the internet, it'll connect to the (router? group?), but it won't connect to the internet. I've tried the same plug with my roommate's Macbook, and it worked just fine, so I am assuming it is a problem with my computer (or my own incompetence). Normally, I would just try restarting my modem, but that isn't an option here.
Specs:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 @ 3GHz
Zotac nForce 790i motherboard

Laptop connects to the internet via its wireless adapter and my wireless router. There are no problems here it's all going fine. My phone and other laptops in the house are all connected to the router with no dramas. I've currently connected my PC (which has no wireless card) to my laptop via Ethernet cable and allowed all the internet sharing settings with the hopes of using the internet on my PC (I've done this successfully in the past but it's not working now for some reason). The LAN network is Unidentified and as such won't let a connection pass from laptop to PC. Used the diagnose function on the LAN network and got this message: "Local Area Connection doesn't have a valid IP configuration".
how when it comes to networking, IP addresses etc isn't all that good but I'm computer-savvy so will be able to follow any instructions. I have access to my routers login and all that if required. A friend of mine mentioned something about DHNC or somesuch but I don't know what all that's about.
My router has been working fine until yesterday when it randomly stopped functioning for me. I can only connect to it via wireless. Other computers in my house can connect directly to it though. I have tried cycling the modem and router. Reinstalled drivers. Nothing, it just constantly says "identifying" for less than a second then reappear in a constant cycle. [code]

It's set up to obtain an automatic ip address whatever that means, could this be the problem ?? When I ping 192.168.1.1 (an instruction I found on another forum) it doesn't work..
