I have just upgraded my internet connection. My ISP is now supplying 50mpbs. If I connect my laptop or pc directly into the ISP modem I get a speed of 75mpbs, very happy with that. But if I connect my Sitecom wl-340 router to the ISP modem and then my pc or laptop into the router i can only get 10mpbs! I have connected everything with cat 5 ftp cable.
I tried putting in for a Return # number for my modem but was told I can't get one even though its under warranty because I can't find the receipt. The modem LAN port 1 keeps dropping to 10mpbs instead of staying at 100. Is there anywhere I can get firmware 1.00.13 for this modem.
I have ZyXEL PLA4201KIT Mini Powerline Ethernet Adapter Starter Kit Up to 500Mbps to connect my desktop to the internet and recently i've been getting random moments where i lose internet connection so everything stops working. I have to either restart my comp or take out the ethernet cord and put it back in. my router is next to our tv and i read somewhere that having it next to a big appliance will suck all the power for itself.
i have a cisco router that has dhcp configured, the router ip address is 10.10.10.***. all computer that attached to the router are using static ip and works fine but when i am connecting my laptop using wireless in gets an 192.168.1.*** address.
My connection is good directly to the modem. But the wireless router is giving off very slow speeds. For instance the modem is 10Mbps but I'm only getting 1.5 - 2Mbps through wireless.
I have a switch connected from the internet outtake in my apartment. This switch gives internet to two, or sometimes three computers, by cable. To get wireless I have a DLINK-615 connected after the switch. This solution works flawless for some time, just after the router is started or reset. If I go to speedtest.net both the upload and the download works flawless. However, after around half an hour it's virtually impossible to upload, which gives heavy lag in programs like skype and games. If you try to speedtest.net now the download is still fine, but the upload gives a result of 0.1mb/sec after trying to even start the test for 3-4 minutes.Router giving up upload completely
I've tried to change the IP in the router to prevent a conflict between it and the switch. The problem is still there whatever IP I choose though, I simply have no upload.I've also tried to disable the DHCP, mess with the MTU and to enable the Access Point mode with no result.
I have 2 public ip, 1.1.1.1 anda 1.1.1.2. I'm connected to the ISP using PPPoE. I also have a router and a firewall. I want to assign 1.1.1.1 to router and 1.1.1.2 to the firewall. I do not want to NAT 2 times (one in router and one in firewall)That's why i want to bridge Fa0/0 and Fa0/1.Could this be done in Cisco router? I've done this command but it's not working as i want. I'm using bridge irb and bridge-group.
I was using my internet on my Acer Windows 7 operating system wireless just fine on Monday. I tried to use it on Tuesday and could not connect to the internet wireless any longer. I get an error message next to my network stating ""The settings saved on this computer do not match the requirements of the network"I have never encotured this kind of problem before. I proceeded to call Comcast who did all kinds of trivial beginner troubleshooting such as restart the router, restart the modem turn on and off the computer.
I have VPN Router (3845) in Head Office and VPN Router (1921) at Branch Office. I have also internet router (1921) which passes through ASA 5520 to internal Network at Head Office. I can give internet connectivity to Head Office Users by giving access in ASA 5520 with following lines: nat (inside) 1 192.168.2.13 255.255.255.255.
I have added line for internet access for Branch Users in following manner in ASA 5520: nat (inside) 1 173.16.33.4 255.255.255.255. My Head Office user can access internet but my branch office user cant access internet. how can i give internet access to my branch office users?
I don'y know why connecting to a router is always so difficult.. Anyway, my win 7 laptop is connecting to the router and I set it up (Reset everything a few times). I also have no connection through Ethernet connection with the router. What do I do? The modem is Cisco DPQ3212 and the router Keebox-w150nr wireless 150 N router.
Recently i have been having LOADS of problems with my wireless router. Every now and then it will decide that 2 of my 3 computers will not be allowed to connect to the internet. and i will have to spend hours of resetting and rebooting computers to get it to work again.. only for the issue to start again a few hours later. I recently added the third computer but im not sure how that would be an issue.
My router is showing two separate SSIDs, dlink and dlink 2 it only recently started doing this and around the same time my router has been constantly rebooting when there's little or heavy internet traffic.I have a DIR 655 Hardware Version: A4.Firmware: 1.21 NA
I refuse to go to any version above 1.21 as 1.21 is the most stable firmware for the 655, I have tried all other with terrible outcomes and wireless performance.I've looked around and most people think it's a joke or something, always saying it's probably a neighbors wireless, but that's impossible since I'm on an acreage and my neighbors are too far away for us to be receiving their wireless signals, and if I change the password and encryption type (WPA/WEP/WPA2) I have to change the security settings on both dlink and dlink 2.
Also I have the normal 192.168.0.1 gateway to access the router under the "LAN" section under Status on the router, but under WAN I have a completely different gateway that just recently showed up. I have no idea where this came from or what happened.
Just bought first wireless router, when i insert CD and start setup, after a few seconds i get Error 301: internal error. i have rebooted and still no luck. I've tried going to 192.168.1.1, i got in one time but didn't understand half the stuff. now i can't go back into that page.
Just installed RV042 router. And it's giving out router certificate instead of server certificate so people who are trying to access our secured server are getting errors. I'm not talking about remote management. I'm talking about people trying to access our web site, which is secured, and getting an error because the RV042 is giving its own SSL certificate instead of the Server's certificate. How do we turn that off or keep it from happenning?
The RV042 firm version is v4.0.0.07-tm (Aug 19 2010 19:19:50)
So network was running fine for about a year or so. Network consists of 1 Motorola SB6120 cable modem attached to a D-Link DIR-601 wireless router. All settings were default except for SSID and WPA password. One day I just couldn't access internet anymore. I've narrowed it down to the default gateway that is being given out through DHCP. The default gateway that is being given out is the IP of the modem (192.168.100.1) and not of the Router (192.168.0.1). I can't find any option on Wireless router to be able to force the gateway address when handing out the gateway IP. Theoretically I thought I should be able to put router on same subnet as modem as 192.168.100.2 but that still doesn't work. If I set the IP adresses statically on the PCs and give it the Gateway of the Router everything works fine. I should mention this is for my boss' house and basically I dont want him calling me everytime he has a friend come over and I have to talk em through setting up a Static IP.
And just for an example this is what I get if I use DHCP:
IP Address: 192.168.0.155 Mask: 255.255.255.0 DNS: 192.168.0.1 Default Gateway: 192.168.100.1
And If I want it to work I have to change the default gateway to 192.168.0.1 I've tried updating routers firmware and reset to factory default numerous times. Is it possible for a router DHCP stop working?
I'm currently configuing the WRT54G2 to port forward to an FTP server we have on our network.
The issue I'm having is that the router is offering me the 192.168.40.* range, however the FTP server is in the 192.168.10.* range. The server works on the local network across several computers, however this issue I beleive is what is preventing me from having it accessed from outside the network.
Any options for getting it to offer me the 192.168.10.* IP range?
I have a problem with my Router WRT120N wen I connect to router with wireless are wired it`s not giving me Internet access but the light on the router of Internet is ON if I put the internet cable directed to my computer give me internet.
Watch youtube? Router resets! Hookup a wired connection? REBOOT! Hookup a tivo wirelessly, use wifi calling, or listen to spotify.. REBOOT!Is there ANY way for this router to NOT reboot randomly?
Just got the E4200 and it seemed great at first. Connected at 450mbps at close range (maybe 6ft away) and got 223mbps transfer. It seems that recently my signal is much weaker. I'm around 6-8ft away from the router and I'm getting between 270-360mbps, which to me is poor given the short range.InSSIDer says the RSSI is -50, while my other wireless N router (dual band) is -35 and is in the exact same location. I'm using the 5ghz radio only, and it is set to N, and I'm using channels 44 and 48. I checked the hidden advanced wireless page and transmit power is already set to high.My laptop has an Intel 6300 wireless card.I'm using the current firmware 1.0.02,I've noticed that the speed of the router randomly seems to drop off too (just as I type this, the link rate has gone back up to 450mbps... typical). Is the router throttling when it gets hot or something? So I just want to find out if others are experiencing similar rates at the same kind of distance. Seriously, how can you advertise something as 450mbps when you can't even get that link rate at a distance as short as 6ft?I can't see any thing I can do to increase the link speed (back down to 270mbps now), short of a firmware update to increase the power and use higher channels. I hear the higher channels are much better, so who do I have to write to, to plead for new firmware?,This is a great product, but it's totally ruined by stupid internal antennas and a weak transmit power.
I've got a problem with DHCP running on a cisco 1900 series router, 1921 to be precise. The Data VLAN works perfectly, i configured a ip helper address and its working. Problem tough is VLAN 20. This is the voice vlan. As u can see in the config below, this has been configured using VRRP and VRF for failover purposes. I did more of these configurations, and they all worked fine, just not with this particular router!
As u will notice i deleted all the not needed to know information or i X'ed it!

I have a 3911 router with a 1242 AP. The problem that I have is that when the user is trying to connect, the user get the OS Ip address 169.254.168.154 and I see that when I do the "show dot11 association" command, but when I do sh ip dhcp binding on the router I see
172.19.9.141 0100.18de.74db.14 Jan 31 2011 11:14 AM Automatic
The router is seeing as if the router gave the ip address to the user, but the reality the user was assigne the OS ip address 169. I did "debug ip dhcp server events" and I got the following:
Jan 31 11:09:06.752 EST: DHCPD: Seeing if there is an internally specified pool class:Jan 31 11:09:06.756 EST: DHCPD: htype 1 chaddr 0100.18de.74db.14 Jan 31 11:09:06.756 EST: DHCPD: remote id 020a00000a58218400000000Jan 31

I'm still having bad time with the basic configuration I'm trying to make 2 VLANS: voice and data and run DHCP server on router hoping it will give the Ip Phone an IP address but I don't know where the problem is.
The Internet on my Toshiba laptop suddenly has stopped working. If I connect the laptop directly to the router the internet works ok. Othe computers work ok using the same router.
I have a Linksys WRT160N connected and it is working fine. My problem is the coverage is not enough. I have a Netgear WRN2000 and I want to hardwire it to my linksys so it can be used as a repeater but I can't get it to work properly.
Up to today I used Verizoon 4G to a Windows Visata box running Internet connection Sharing to get my home lab connected to the Internet . All was working well.
Today I had Hughesnet come and installl their service and I can no longer get access to the Internet from my PC netowrk. my VPN to my office for my IP phone coomes up an works just fine. At the router I do have Internet access which then leads me to believe that my problem is NAT related.
My router is a 2851.
When I enter PING 4.2.2.2 I get !!!!! but when i enter PING 4.2.2.2 SOURCE 192.168.69.3 I get .....
Buying a TP-Link W8961ND modem/router. Didn't work at all, except for a vague sense I got that the internet wasn't spending as long 'down' as previously when it did drop. And now today my housemate and I are both connected and suffering these intermittent drops, which become more and more frequent, until finally the internet cuts out and won't return. Now I cannot get the TP-Link router to connect to the internet at all. However, switching back over to the original D-Link router now the internet DOES work, but still only intermittently. As I've been writing this it's dropped out for a couple of moments twice!
When I'm pinging my mail server, it gave me different IP's at different times. As the mail server is actually owned by us, I would like to know if that is possible without the IP actually being changed by someone. This is really critical for me. I didn't mean to cross post so providing the URL of the other place where I posted..
If you'd like I may attach the screenshots for the same, but don't think that will server any purpose.
I am currently on Time Warner Cable 10 mbps packge, and am using their wireless DOCIS3 modem/router. It is connected in my bedroom to the main computer. That computer stays connected. However, throughout the rest of the house (we have a two story townhome) it will drop completely or give limited connection...constantly. Sometimes I can have my laptop next to me and it will go out or give limited connection. The connection speed never drops, it just goes completely to no connection. Not for sure what is going on, if its on my end or time warner. Has been doing this for quite some time, the cable company comes out and changes the modem, but that's it, couple days later, goes back to doing it again.
I have a question about my Desktop and the Belkin Wireless adapter that I am using for it. There seems to be a problem with my internet connection and I can't figure it out! I'm suppose to have speeds up to 18mbps and I'm only getting up to 5mbps on my Desktop. Now, here's the weird part...when I connect to my wifi on my laptop and cell phone it gets 16mbps. Why this is only happening to my Desktop??? I have the latest wireless adapter driver installed and everything. Is it the adapter or my system??

I have a T1 connection to one of my sites, I am running HREAP with 4 AP's. I have been noticing a spike in traffic from my AP's to the WLC. Even when no one is on the wireless. When you use encryption (DTLS) should this cause spikes on the T1 ?
