View 2 Replies View RelatedI ran into a strange problem. When I want to change the ethernet0 interface of a Cisco 828 sdsl router, but there is no command to do that in the interface configuration mode (speed 100 and duplex full). A show interface gives 10MB half duplex and I want to change this.

we have connected gig interface Ethernet on Cisco 2900 series router to mpls link connected to our corporate network ,the issue here is our router interface speed and duplex settings are set to auto negotiation.The interface is negotiating speed and duplex at 10 and half where the provider side interface is hard coded to 100 and full duplex.when we tried to hard code the settings on our router to match the provider the interface never come up.

But when I check ATM interface it is still down and line protocol is down. how to make it up and up so that internet service could be used.Also I want to know that the provider has also given username and password for internet in their device.We want to replace that device with the router and facing problems.

I have a 7604 Edge router that connects to our Data centre via Fiber.
but i keep getting input errors on the interface Gi3/5. i also found out that i cannot change the duplex settings on the edge router to auto, i only have two options of full and half and changing it has not worked either.
I have tried to use a switch in between the fiber modem and the edge router to try to manipulate the duplex settings, but when i tried it the port simply shutdown and then i have to reverse the configuration.
The software version of the router is 12.2(33)SRE3, i really need to sort this out as connection to and from the Data centre is quite slow.
Sure this is a simple one. New to the 1900 series routers, have a 1921 with IOS 15.1. Noticed that there is a standard interface labeled Embedded-Service-Engine0/0. What the purpose of this is? Cannot seem to find any detail on it. See extract from default config below.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have not done much with business routers, but we have a 1700 series with a WAN WIC-1ENET card with a RJ45 connection. We had a T1 line and will be moving to ehternet. We are going to be moving to a 20MB line, and i just wanted to make sure I have the right connections before installing. We also have a T1 line in another loaton and would be moving to this same 2811 router there as well.We would also like to copy over the configuration from 1700 series router to the 2811 router. Would it be easier to do it by hyper-terminal? Also if we keep the 1700 routers are they capable of using layer-3?

The radio shows as down on the controller GUI. The error message on the GUI is that the 'Regulatory Domain' is not supported. This can be seen from the attached screenshot. I have a video conferencing device and I struggled a lot with a bunch of different routers. I was giving up but then I plugged in a friend's old Linksys/Cisco Adsl gateway and all the problems disappeared (kudos to Cisco). The problem is that the gateway is not ADSL2+. I have since borrowed a Linksys/Cisco ADSL2+ router, however, there isn't a possibility to enter port speeds/duplex manually (required to prevent packet loss in video conferencing, I really want to have that option for the peace of mind). I have been looking around on the internet but I can't seem to find this ability any routers' specs. What I need is as follows:
- Has to be Cisco or Linksys router
- Has to be ADSL2+ (Annex A)
- Doesn't have to be wireless, even single port is OK
- Preferably has DMZ
- Ability to hard code lan port speed/duplex (i.e. no autosense)
- No other functions needed so hopefully a cheap option
Q. Does the Supervisor 720 support all existing Cisco Catalyst 6500 series interface and services module, protecting customer investments?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a broadband connection and recently I bought a new D-Link wireless router for accessing internet on my Android phone via Wi-Fi. Router model no. is N 150 DIR-524.After configuring it was working fine for a week or so and then one fine day internet stopped working on my PC and router LED for internet was not glowing as well. So I called my ISP and they changed my ethernet card settings (nVidia).They changed the 'Speed/duplex settings' from 'Auto Negotiation' to '10 Mb Half Duplex' and then the internet started working. During this they had disconnected my router. Once they were gone, I reset the router and connected it back. Since then it ain't working Internet works fine when the cable is plugged directly in the ethernet card but doesn't work when plugged via router. Router does everything right from opening the '192.168.0.1' page to saving the settings. But there's no internet access.
