I have a VIC 2Fxs card and it is not getting recognized in the 2811 router. I checked the cisco website and I saw that the FXS card for the 2811 is a VIC2-2FXS. If i were use this, do I insert it in the HWIC port or do I use a Voice 2V module to insert the FXS card and then insert it into the router. Also , is there any other FXS card that can be used apart from the VIC2-2FXS.
I have a 2811 router runnning IOS 12.4(21) and have added an HWIC 1FE card to slot 2. But the card doesnot show up in the router and all the three lights on the HWIC card is steady green. I have gone through some cisco documentation and found that i have to upgrade the IOS.
I have few questions before doing the upgrade.
1. Which IOS version should I upgrade to?
2. Will this erase my exisitng running configuration ? I have VPN services, PPPoATM, PBR etc.. all running on this router at present.
3. Presently i have a 128 MB CF card on the router. Will this be enough or do i need to upgrade this card also? Can i choose an IOS which will fit into this card otherwise while keeping all existng features?
4. I want to use the HWIC card for the ISP's internet service through PPPoE. Will this be possible with the upgraded IOS ?
have remote routers boot and load a config from the flash card. It seems this is possible if the Flash Class is A, according to the Cisco web site using the
boot config flash:<Config file>
where <Config file> is the file on the flash.
Although this can be applied on 2811 routers, they fail to load the file on the flash card. I've since found that this router type has a Class C flash. So the question is, can either:
Is there a similar process for other classes of Flash cards, specifically Class C?
or
The router flash be set as a Class A to support this functionality,
The preferred resolution for this would be the first as there are many remote routers installed a diverse and difficult locations to visit, should a format/rebuild of the flash fail for some reason.
don't ask to list the output of a show boot or show bootvar, neither of these commands work. The Startup/Running config lists the boot config line.
I have 3825 router with flash size 128 and 512 RAM.i am trying to install a VIC3-2FXS on the router.the FXS is know by the router when i put show version or show diag,unfortunately the FXS is always showing orange light.i tried to upgrade the router to c3825-advipservicesk9-mz.124-20.T.bin and to c3825-advipservicesk9-mz.151-1.T3.bin with same result.
We have a few remote sites that connect back to HQ with T1 & DMVPN (Cable/DSL) for data. Our CM Publisher/Subscriber reside in HQ. We recently installed FXS cards in these routers to provide Fax functionality to our remote sites since we will be removing some POTS lines.
Can we register the 2811 as a voice gateway (I am thinking MGCP as with VG224's we have in production) and have it handle faxes with FXS card as well as route data or will we need a separate device for this?
We have open a division in the UK and are using DSL as a back up to a T1-E1, so I was going to use a standard DSL Modem but thought the WiC-1ADSL-I-DG would be better. However I can seem to get the card up and running. Here is the interface config and sh int atm.

I had a question regarding the Cisco 2811. I tried fitting an NM 2FE-2W card and the fast Ethernet interfaces of the module never get recognized. Is there a special command to enable it or isn't the module supported at all by the router. If not , is there a way to have the router possess more than the 2 Fast Ethernet interfaces it already has? Let me know if any more info is needed from my end.
Another question I have out of curiosity. Is it possible to make the controller T1 port of a VWIC 1MFT-T1 or a VWIC 2MFT-T1 act as a fast Ethernet.
I am facing the problem as my CISCO router is detecting the RS 530 DCE cable as DTE 530idb. I am using this cable for X25 link connectivity. The same cable has worked for more than 1 hour with detecting the cable type as 530 DCE, but suddenly it stops the X25 data transfer. After that the cable type it is showing as DTE 530idb.
Below troubleshooting already carried out.
1. Changed the slot, but same output.
2. Removed the cable & reconnected, but same output.
3. Without connecting to the DTE device also, the cable type is showing as DTE 530idb
I'm looking for a HWIC card that will support SC fiber connections for a 2811. I know of the HWIC-1GE-SFP but this one only support the LC connections.
I have existing cisco 2811 (Version 12.4(3c)). I try to add a HWIC serial card into the router but the new HWIC is not detected. There is no new interfece shows up when i do show run. This HWIC is a new card just bought it.
I just bought an additional router for my network and I'm in the process of setting it up.I have however hit a snag with enabling ssh on the device. It is a cisco router 2811 running IOS 15.0 (refer below to my attempts)
how many extra interface port can be plugged in to the 2811 router ,there are 2 fixed FE port on this router and i have 3 connection i.e one mpls link , one internet link and one sip trunk .. some body confirm me that i can insert module in 2811 ?

I configured Any Connect SSL VPN on Cisco 2811 router. It works perfectly when I lo gin via web and run secure mobility client. However, when I connect directly from the mobility client connection fails. It does not even ask me for username and password.

I have not figured out yet, why mobility client works when launched from the web and why it does not work directly.
We currently are using 2811 router for internet Via IPSEC tunnel.Download speed is 30 Mbps and Upload speed is 6 Mbps.
But we are getting not more than 4 Mbps download speed. We did open Tac case and as per Tac 2811 router is not for 30 Mbps.Can any suggest proper model. We need 2 FastEthernet/Gig and one serial port.

can a Cisco 2811 router bundle 2 or 4 ADSL lines ? Reason am asking, we need a device that would be able to bundle 2 or 4 ADSL lines from ISP so that we can you it as backup link in-case the company Internet link does down.
I get stuck in one case. One of my customer has two FTTH lines. I have to config PPPoE in routers. In one line I config succesfully, but one line never up. I call to ISP they ask me to config extactly VLAN id 10 in the physical subinterface. But in subinterface there is no command "pppoe-client dial-pool-number". I check the old modem FTTH, they also config VLAN 10 in Wan interface. I tell ISP why we have the same two FTTHs, but two differrent config ways. ISP says because the two line run in two different infrastructure, two different devices. I don't know how to do now? stay in customer side or ISP side. Here is my PPPoE config:

So my case is: computer from router1's network can ping 192.168.222.2 (router2 -FastEthernet0/0.197 )computer from router2 network can ping 192.168.232.18 (router1- FastEthernet0/0.380),but can't ping 10.132.1.126 (router1- FastEthernet0/0.382).
How can i connect vlan 380 and vlan382.I want the three vlan to see each other.Is this happen with IRB or not?
I am pretty new to the configuration of a DMZ and I have the task of setting one up.I have a Cisco 2811 Router running Cisco IOS Software, 2800 Software (C2800NM-ADVENTERPRISEK9-M), Version 12.4(24)T1, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc3), 2 FE interfaces.One FE is connected to the WAN, with a loop back interface configured with the public IP for Internet access in the office.The other FE has 2 sub interfaces configured, one for data and the other for voice traffic.Users within the office are configured to use the data VLAN to access the internet through the WAN.
Now we are setting up some new services and we require to have DMZs setup.I want to setup 3 zones now that the different servers would reside in. How can i achieve this using the existing infrastructure I have?I have an idea to create more subinterfaces and assign them to the zones, but I am still not sure how this would play out. I have been on this for the whole day and unable to make significant progress.

I have one cisco 2811 router.One cisco 4503 core switch.And one cyberoam UTM.VLAN 16 on router connected to VLAN 16 of core switch.VLAN 3 on router Connected to UTM.VLAN 2 on router connected with Internet Leased line. And one MPLS VPN terminated at Fast Ethernet port.All ports are fast Ethernet Port on router and all Gigabit Ethernet Ports on Core Switch.Now coming to the point, whenever the router becoming inactive the fast Ethernet ports are working but switch module ports not working. and that point we have to reboot the router.
It has been work for a year without problem. We didn't do any change. Recently, we have to reboot thist router to make it work. After the rebooting, the router will work for a while. It could work from few days to a week, and tt stops working again.
I have a Cisco 2811 router with 2 ADSL interfaces and we have 2 internet lines associated with it. One is with Telstra and one is with iiNet. All internet traffic from inside the office is routed through Telstra line. The iiNet line is used for incoming emails, establishing VPN etc. The problem is that we are not able to "PING" the iiNet's IP address from the outside world however, PING works for Telstra IP. What do I need to configure on the router if I want to PING and Putty in the router using both Telstra's and iiNet's IP from outside world?
