D-Link DIR-615 :: Can Have Two Routers In Same Network

I have a question regarding the dir-615. Can I have two routers( dir-615) in the same network? with the same name(SSID) and same password? on both routers? I have a firewall router(non dlink) and I have one dlink dir-615 connected to the firewall to give wireless service to one end of the building (already working), and I would like to add a second dir-615 to give wireless service to the other side of the building and I would like to use the same name(SSID) and the same password to access the internet, so users won't have to be asking again for the password.

I have the D-link dir-655 wireless router connected at my cable modem and i HAD a d'link switch patched in about 40 feet away. The switch died after 45 days.To solve the problem and extend my network I purchased an identicaldir-655 router to replace the switch. My thought was that i would configure both routers the same and be able to use the same network settings to access the network throughout my house.It didn't work.I even tried changing the IP address on the second router but it did something to the modem. After resetting everything, the original router works again. D'link support says what i am trying cannot be done, but i know it can.

I have 3 pieces of hardware:
1. Green Packet DX-230 WiMAX modem with router
2. D-Link DIR-615 ver G2 (from my ISP)
3. D-Link 8 port desktop switch
I previously used the DIR-615 with my high speed broadband connection. However I had to move to a new house and here I can only get WiMAX. I want to...Place the WiMAX modem upstairs to serve as modem and wireless access point Have the DIR-615 function as the main router and firewall (downstairs) Use the switch to connect all the rooms in my house FYI my WiMAX modem has no connection configurations. I just plug it in and it'll connect automatically to the WiMAX signal. It has 2 LAN ports but no WAN port. From my understanding of networking, I have to turn off DHCP on my WiMAX modem, put it in the same IP range as my DIR-615 (192.168.0.100-199), and disable UPNP and NATPMP. After this I'm stuck.How do I tell my DIR-615 to use the WiMAX modem as it's WAN connection?Should I reserve an IP for the modem in my DIR-615?

everything was all good, my brother went crazy and unplugged everything.it effects our house phone too, that could be the problem.i just dont know what wires went where. all the wires are the same color.but i know which is which. just again, dont know where.i would like to get it done before he gets home later on.

The 2 routers are Di-524UP and Dir-655.I have 2 routers and 2 modems,Computer 1 and and 2 are running on the same router as they have low internet usage.Computer usually does large amount of downloading and streaming and requires a separate connection as not to lag the browsing for computer 1 and 2.How could I link router 1 and 2 together so that my computer 3 could deposit files that are downloaded over the internet through wireless lan into my NAS.Or are there any devices that can bridge 2 routers with 2 different network connections over the same lan network.

I seem to be struggling to connect more than 4 cameras to my (ISP-supplied) modem/router by Netgear CGD24N via WPS. I'm on my 5th camera now (already have 3x 930L and 1x 942L) but the newest 942L just won't connect to the network at the moment and there's definitely no faults here as I swapped cameras today at the local retailer (and got an A3 942L!).I've even tried connecting the camera to my wireless extender (Netgear WN3000RP) but no luck there.
So far it has only worked twice for short periods of time (enough for me to configure the cameras) but since then I can't actually get it working. I've got a couple of spare wireless routers lying around too and should be receiving a DIR-600 soon (from the Netgear promotion in Australia) which could be useful?

I connected my camera to my router with a network cable. It is a DCS-2121, H/W Ver A2, with firmware 1.04_FR.It received an IP address and I could access it fine with a web browser.Then I configured it to work wireless.I disconnected the cable but the camera wasn't accessible.Since I couldn't find it I re-attached it with a network cable, but this didn't work.So I pressed the Reset button to start over again.However, now I cannot get it to work anymore. When I plug in the camera and have it connected with a network cable to the router the status light remains RED.When I plug it in without a network cable the status led remains RED.When I connect it with a network cable to a computer directly, the status led remains RED.I've tried changing the network settings of my router to use 192.168.0.x as range, but it makes no difference. In all cases the status indicator remains RED.

Camera set up with the Beta Mac wizard connected via ethernet on Airport base. Wireless security WPA2 Personal. Using DHCP. AirPort Utility 5.5.2, OSX 10.6.6.I can see the cam with the myDlink Lite iPhone (4) App when I am in my house with my wireless network. When I am out, away from my network, the App can't connect to the cam, tells me to check my network settings. I did the wps way and added the cam in the airport base utility *Access Control* tab but still doesn't work. Checked in the cam web page settings, can't figure out what the Pre-Shared Key is and where I get it/set it up in the airport utility...

However I can't find this option, even when I use the Nintendo's Important Note on the right. How I can activate this option or the location for it. I have one Cable Modem/Router built in (Netgear CGD24N) and I wish to use two routers (the other being the DIR-655). The Netgear is a fantastic Cable Modem but a ****py router, but I wish to use both. One will be situated upstairs and the other downstairs.I have connected the two at different locations via the wall and the DIR-655 successfully went to the Netgear login page (as I went to 192.168.0.1) but internet connection was not working, whereas the Netgear internet was working. This was connected LAN to LAN.
Another procedure I have tried was connecting to them LAN - INTERNET (INTERNET being the D-link one) and received the following message: "The addressing of the Internet side learnt thru DHCP conflicts with the addressing selected for the LAN side. Internet communications will be disabled until you have changed the LAN side addressing to resolve the problem."

I've noticed that many people have routers with NAT as part of their security configuration. What NAT is/does? Also, I entered the router's settings and went to Advanced > Firewall > NAT ENDPOINT FILTERING .There are 3 options specified for UDP/TCP Endpont Filtering; they are:
Endpoint Independent
Address Restricted
Port and Address Restricted
What are these options? I downloaded the manual for the router but it doesn't mention what NAT, Endpoint Independent, Address Restricted, and Port and Address Restricted are.
Side Note: I thought about setting up a secure connection using WPA2. Right not I'm using an unsecured wireless network. If I setup a new secure wireless connection using WPA2 will my current unsecured connection still be available?

Due to bandwith requirements, we need to join a network with a RV016 to a network with an RV082 via a point to point air bridge. (VPN over adls was not cutting it) fortunatelly there is line of sight.

i m using ISP provided modem+router and another D-Link Wireless router at the same time... My computer is connected to D-LInk's Router and D-Link's Router is connected to ISP's Modem...My modem's Ip address is : 192.168.1.1 Router's IP Address: 192.168.0.1ok but now problem is that now Dlink is connected to ISP's Modem and ISP's modem assigns different ip to Wl.Router. I'm new to networking (at least at this level) and need some guidance. First, I have an Actiontec MI424WR (Rev. F) Coax Verizon Fios modem that I use as my home networking wireless router. From a LAN port on that I've connected a cable to the WAN port on my DIR-655 which acts as my gigabit office hard wire/wireless router. I need to keep the home network and the office network separate.All of my computers are Windows, either 7, Vista or XP.Connected to my Dir-655 on the office network are 2 wireless computers, a printer, an IOMEGA 1TB Home Personal Cloud NAS HDD, plus 2 desktop computers.The DIR-655 is set with a static IP address matching the range of the Actiontec. The DIR-655 is set for DHCP for the devices on the network (although 2 of the computers have static IP address).
When the DIR-655 had a Dynamic IP address set by the Actiontec, the IOMEGA NAS HDD kept losing connection with all the devices on the network. Only after I set the DIR-655 to static IP did that stop and everybody started to play nice. I'm not sure why that would make a difference, but it did.But regardless of whether it is set to dynamic or static, no computer on the network or program, even third party programs, can connect to ANY of the time servers out there... and I mean any of them. I've tried at least 20 or more of the standard and not so standard ones. The DIR-655's time is off, and it is set to get time automatically. None of my computers, or my IOMEGA NAS, can access time. The Actiontec, though, seems to be set correctly.Everything connects to the internet just fine. Web, email, auto product upgrades. Fine. So far it's just the time server thing which troubles.I done everything I know how to do to enable Port Forwarding through both routers for NTP > UDP 123 since that is the standard port for the Network Time Protocol, but I could have easily screwed that up.

I have an N1 Wireless Router (F5D8231-4 ver 2). It is setup with WPA/WPA2-PSK on and links to a Windows Laptop and an iPod Touch perfectly. I cannot get my new Samsung Note 10.1 (GT-N8000) connected. I have tried changing the router to WEP 128bit and even no security. The Samsung links perfectly to my neighbours Thomson Wireless Modem/router with no security. The Belkin N1 is recognising the android trying to link and assigns an IP. The Samsung instantly sees the Belkin network ( says " very strong signal") & tries to connect. It saves the network but gets stuck trying to obtain an IP address & reports "network disabled" and "weak signal".

we are experiencing truouble to connect a RV120W Router using an E1 link with RJ45. Everything seems ok when the router was configured with a static IP, also we can establish an IPSec tunnel, but if we try to use RDesktop through the tunnel, or email services with POP3, after a few minutes the router restarts, or loose any signal wireless, ethernet and WAN; also it becomes hot.

I am trying to connect my SPA122 ATA to my new TP-Link TL-WDR3600 wireless router. This setup worked with my old router (NetGear WGR614) but I cannot seem to get it to work with the new router.
I am connected to the Internet through a Huawei MT130U cable modem with nominal 28MBS bandwidth. I have been told that the throughput of the router in the SPA122 would restrict that so I had connected it to my old WLAN router in the DMZ. This worked fine before but not with new router.

I went through the install procedure outlined in the ProtectLink Gateway install manual and i activated the ProtectLink Web product through Trend Micro (which shows up through their web site as a registered product to me). It still doesn't show up as installed on the SA540 (under Administration/License Management screen). When I try to activate the product again, it shows as "Already registered". Trend has no idea why it won't work. They said Cisco sold the license, so try their support.

I have two Dir-655's - router1 and router2.
Router1:
ip 192.168.0.1
subnet 255.255.255.0
DHCP enabled range = 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.200
Router 2:
ip 192.168.0.2
subnet 255.255.255.0
DHCP disabled
Routers are connected to each other via LAN ports with a switch in between.Both routers have the same wireless SSID with the same password. I am able to connect wirelessly to both routers no problem.
I have a machine running a shared iTunes library which has a wired connection to router1. I also have an Apple TV wired to router2. My issue is if I am connected wirelessly to router2 I may or may not be able to connect to iTunes library. Conversely, if I am connected wirelessly to router1 I may or may not be able to play content from iTunes to Apple TV. I cannot figure out why everything works fine sometimes yet at other times I cannot connect devices between the two routers.
